A superb hotel, with the rooms and service making up for a questionable location. Check-in quick and efficient, with my bags taken to my room as I filled in the typical and required information forms. Welcome drink, snack, and scented cool towel provided promptly. Staff attentive, despite a slight language barrier with reception employees. Stayed in their Grand Suite, which aside from being on a corner and having windows facing in two directions rather than one seems to be identical to normal suites, and that is probably what I would opt for next time. The ground floor non-suite rooms also looked lovely, and have the advantage of being directly connected to the small pool. Really not a bad room here. Suite was well furnished, bed extremely comfortable, all surfaces and sitting areas have a premium feel. Bathroom was a let down; it appeared as if the rest of the suite was renovated within the past few years, and the bathrooms left behind. Old with poor lighting. Small kitchenette was sufficient for me to cook dinner twice, with a 7-11 conveniently located across the road. Balconies provide a lovely space to sit, though are very exposed to the beach - making the outdoor bathtub unusable until the evening, when the beach is nearly deserted. On that note, the location. The property tries to paint it as a “traditional fishing village”, but it’s actually a longboat pier. From 9 am to around 4pm, boats will pass consistently with surges at 9, 12-1, and 4 when tours depart and return. I, personally, did not mind this as it was something to look at, but it is certainly not a serene environment. Despite being called “The Beach”, the beach is, in my view, unswimmable. Due to being a longboat pier, there is a dredged channel coming within a few metres of the swimming area. This makes the water murky, and with boats fuelling and being washed around the roped-off swimming area I did not feel comfortable putting my head into the water. On multiple occasions longboats cut through the swimming area, and while I’m sure they’d have been more careful had there been people in the water, it is clear this beach is a pier first and foremost. There is a moderate undercurrent from the channel, and a very steep drop from a rocky shore; water shoes are necessary. To sit however the beach is lovely, with loungers and cabanas available for guests. Since every suite has a sea view, the beach sitting areas were never crowded. The pool is small but due to the hotel’s size never felt crowded. Kayaks and bicycles are available for free use. Staff provided a mid-day snack of fruit to guests seated at the pool or beach, which is one of the small touches that sets a five star property apart from a four star one. Room was clean but had some water leakage, and on the second day I found a soaked brown towel hidden under the curtains…clearly placed there to absorb leaking water, and some effort was made to hide this from guest view but not an appropriate solution at this level of property. Tea, coffee, water provided, along with flip-flops and slippers, bath robes, a beach bag, and beach towels. The bathtub on my balcony did not drain properly, and staff had to force the drain with a knife. This was not a permanent fix and on my second night the drain once again would not open. Staff quick to respond but coupled with the water leakage, there seems to be some deferred maintenance in the rooms. Minor issues aside, this was an exceptional property, well worth the reasonable cost. I would go out of my way to return.

If you're looking for a genuine bit of paradise with the beach actually on your doorstep then this is the hotel for you. It's in thong krut on the south top of the island. So it is for people who really want to get away from everything. Because once you're here there ain't a great deal around you. We had a beautiful room that was on the ground floor the sliding doors opened out fully and you step out onto your terrace where you have 2 private sunbeds and then directly onto the golden sand and Into the sea. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in whilst travelling thailand for 8 years!! The rooms have everything I think you will need too. What really makes this place is the location and the staff. It has a very special feeling to it. Thong krut is not the prettiest area of koh samui. But it is a real getaway place. So if you just want to spend lazy days swimming, and unwind and get back to being you.. then this is definitely the place. The only thing for me I'm not keen on is unfortunately a pandemic that's happening all across Thailand at the moment. And that's popping up of marijuana shops EVERYWHERE. and it's now in a lot of hotels too. And unfortunately the beach samui also has a dispensary attached to it called 'the herbalist' so when we arrived the whole reception/guest lounge stank of weed and it was strong. It's just not my thing and not a smell I enjoy at all. It was the one and only time I had smelt it during my 4 days. However you need to be made aware that this is onsite. All of that aside... This hotel is in a beautiful spot with a really high level of customer care and accommodation. You will need either a car or moped to move anywhere here because as mentioned it is a little remote. But that is also the magic of the samui beach. The beach itself has quite a busy time being the area where the boat tops go to and from to pig island amongst others. So you will slowly get to enjoy the sound of long boat engines and propellers. But it does. Not detract from the beautiful spot at all. I also need to mention... We had to cancel our original trip to the beach samui the previous year due to leaving our flights from Bangkok to the koh samui a little late. So we couldn't get the flights we needed to and from the island. So I contacted the hotel and they held our booking for the following year. Which was amazing!! Finally... The customer experience is everything here. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We can't wait to come back next year.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at The Beach Samui. We arranged for an airport pick up which worked nicely. They had high occupancy during our stay we knew this from speaking to the staff and owner. However you wouldn’t have known otherwise as guests spent a lot of time in their rooms and on their balconies. There were 3 of us so we booked a penthouse suite with two beds with fantastic views of the islands. I enjoyed watching all the boats coming and going. At night we didn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms or from the road. The bed was very comfortable and had good quality linen. The room and the hotel in general was very well maintained. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations. I read the comments left by other guests before booking and would like to share a few additional points. Firstly breakfast, we had it included this means you must order it the night before. It is a la carte (no buffet). You order one food option/set and one beverage option. If you want something extra it is chargeable. The breakfast itself was excellent with both foreign and Thai options. It is a boutique hotel so I can understand why it is done like this. My wife enjoyed the Thai breakfast with fresh prawns while I preferred the full English, they had something for everyone. Next swimming, the hotel pool is beautiful but is a little small. It is good for cooling off and during our stay wasn’t busy. The beach at Thong Krut is beautiful but you can’t really swim from it. However you can go for a nice walk along it. There are some beautiful beaches nearby but you would need transportation to get there. Thong Krut itself is a sleepy fishing village. There are a couple of cafes and restaurants to try and a 7 eleven for essentials. This is a beautiful part of the island to come to and relax. Finally I would like to thank the entire team for making our stay a memorable one. We hope to visit again in the future.

My favorite boutique hotel on Ko Samui. The 21-room The Beach Samui is smack in the Goldillocks zone. It's a golden answer to the puzzle of where to stay on an island basking in the glow of HBO's blockbuster "White Lotus" series, set nearby.||It's far enough from the tourist throngs to provide an authentic Thai experience. But it's close enough to Lamai Beach -- 15 minutes by car -- to party with the crowds if the mood strikes. It lies on the island's southern tip in a formerly sleepy fishing village called Thong Krut, about a 45-minute taxi ride from the airport, depending on traffic.||Among the features are individualized wellness sessions amid a quirky, friendly, laid-back vibe. The informal, lobby-adjacent dining room gives onto a pristine lap pool with a carefully tended beach just beyond.||During this, my second visit in two years, I soaked up an in-room "sound bath" from crystal goblets, gongs, and calibrated bowls. Also well worth the candle: sunset breathwork on a bonfire-lighted beach led by a freediver named Diego. Nearby, you can sample a sauna/cold-plunge combo along with cutting-edge equipment at an expansive sports club called Maraleina for 700 Thai Baht per day (or $20 U.S.).||The hotel's bed was superb, in a handsome room with floor-to-ceiling sliding windows boasting bathtubs on their balconies for special experiences. The rooms are close enough to the shore to be lulled to sleep by the gentle lapping of waves. Another standout feature: Chef Nui's farm-fresh menu of Western and Thai dishes, noted by long-time local residents as a neighborhood best.||A new spot with a fast-growing menu owned by the neighboring French Bakery has just opened (March 2025). You can borrow a bicycle for free to check out other such worthy restaurants, about 10 minutes away in either direction, as the venerable French Kiss and Sweet Sisters Cafe.||Separately, don't miss the Na Muang waterfall, nestled in the southern stretch of Samui's central mountains and a quick taxi ride from the hotel. Go on the weekend to watch the Thai kids frolicking in the mist or join them in doing so. ||Best of all is the Beach Samui's management and staff. Bryan Lunt, founder and CEO, is a friendly font of knowledge on all things related to Samui, White Lotus, and the hotel's licensed herbal dispensary that offers gourmet edibles, infused drinks, and other staples of a plant-based wellness retreat.||You may also speak to Steve Lever, sales director, about the local real estate market and investment opportunities. Also to be savored: spiritual advice from the inimitable Franklin of France, who makes arch supports at the hotel and lights up all he surveys. Hats off too to Rung, the resort manager, and her sterling team led by Fai, Siriya, Sawai, and...
