I’ll start with the bad and get it out of the way! Reception staff are truly awful. On arrival we were lulled into a false sense of security when they sat us down and gave us a complimentary drink. After that one of the male receptionists gave us the WiFi code and told us we had to email our holiday confirmation over to them. I’ve never had to do this before. We then waited, and waited and waited. No one came over to us, no one offered us any update on what was taking so long. Only after I went over to the desk did they then say our room was ready and we paid the tourism tax. Very early the next morning the room telephone rang, at the time we weren’t sure if it was some sort of alarm and half asleep we had to pull the wire out of the wall as it rang twice more (nobody there when we answered) later that day there was a note left in our room asking us to go to reception, no details just requesting our presence! Once there we were informed that we weren’t charged enough tourism tax because they’d charged us a child price instead of an adult price for a 15 year old. After paying the difference we worked out that we had in-fact paid the correct amount, however, the very rude receptionist refused to refund us because of “the exchange rate” honestly, it was daylight robbery and they couldn’t care less. We can only assume it was reception phoning us at a ridiculous time in the morning (I’m talking before 7am)to pay up.|We were then charged 120 TND for 4 beach towels, fine, as it’s a deposit, however, they don’t just change the towels, oh no, if you want fresh towels you have to pay another 3TND per towel! We just rinsed them ourselves and let them dry on the balcony after that. |Another day, I asked for an iron to be abruptly told no, they were closed, the maid service do it and come back tomorrow even though it was before 5pm and I wanted a dress ironing that night! There’s absolutely nowhere that states this information. |I’m not sure if it’s a language barrier or they’re just plain rude, probably a mix of both. |The main language spoken is French, not many people speak English and coming from the UK we weren’t made to feel particularly welcome, it was like we were tolerated because money is money isn’t it. They don’t even wave the Union flag, have every other country proudly swaying on a pole though. |The animation team, friendly enough one on one, annoying in their quest to get people up and joining in. Especially when blowing the damn whistle constantly. Fortunately we are a beach loving family rather than pool dwellers, so luckily they didn’t venture down there too often, we could still hear the whistle though, it was ridiculously loud. |My son won a jet ski ride on the tombola one night but he had gone to the bar when the ticket number was called, despite one of animation team coming up to find him, knowing his ticket number and knowing that the rest of his family were sat there, he didn’t allow one of us to collect it on his behalf and just walked off, they then called another number out! If you’ve won on the tombola you’ve won on the tombola, you can’t just call another ticket! Karaoke night was horrific! On the last day we returned the tennis rackets and the tin with the balls in, unfortunately we lost a couple of balls as they were batted over the fence, although we tried to look for them even going to the hotel next door to see if they had gone over there, we didn’t get chance to tell the bald animation member this as he scolded us in a very rude manner as soon as he opened the tin. Disgusting way to speak to people. |The bar staff were very hit and miss. It was nice to get a drink in a real glass and we tried to keep hold of them and have them refilled to avoid a plastic cup. They would sometimes bring our drinks to the table but this happened maybe 3 times in our entire 10 night stay. There was one barman that we tipped as he remembered our order and made nice cocktails. Most of the others would just haphazardly pour whatever alcohol was nearest and didn’t care how much or how little the measure was. |The room was cleaned every day, however, we had to let reception know that they’d missed us one day and another day we had to request toilet roll. They also didn’t change the sheets once during 10 days they just remade the beds. |On our last day we saw that one of our T-shirts had fallen off the balcony, we were on the ground floor and it was really obvious that it had come off our balcony. When I walked round to get it it had disappeared. I tried to ask the gardener but he didn’t speak English, I was then pointed in the direction of one of the cleaners, I explained what had happened and he said he would look for it, the service manager then came knocking and assured me they would find it. We never saw them or heard from them again. Absolutely disgraceful. |The main issue with the restaurant was the dirty plates. Usually had to pick up 2 or 3 to find a clean one, staff were friendly, however, sometimes we had to ask for water or even get it ourselves as the waiting staff didn’t come over for a while. There were always loads of flies everywhere. We only had breakfast a few times but each time there was always a queue for eggs, the egg lady was pretty miserable and seemed only cook a couple at a time or do omelettes and then fried eggs separately even though there was plenty of room to get them going at the same time. |The outdoor coffee machine had ants coming out of it at one point, extra protein in our cafe au latte. |The good parts. The food was decent. We enjoyed trying different things particularly the fresh swordfish, there was a picky eater among us but he always found something, he particularly enjoyed the spicy spaghetti and found it amusing when the chef tried to out-spice him! |The beach. Nice sandy beach, water was very warm and shallow. Always found a sunbed but had to to go on the far end in front of the outdoor eating area, not that this bothered us, it was further away from the awful noise coming from the pool so it was better for us. |The sunrise was spectacular, well worth getting up for. |Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and left the complex a few times for excursions. We made the best of it but would not return to this hotel, mainly due to the attitude of some staff members that made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable at times with their...
Read moreI don't recommend the hotel for two clear reasons. The snacks are exclusively pizza and cakes. I don't recommend the tour operator "Sonhando" for tours. I did two tours, one of which cost 150 euros for two. Since the departure was at 5:00 AM, I asked the manager about breakfast, and he said it would be at 4:00 AM and that it would only be intercontinental style. I was shocked when I arrived at 4:00 AM for breakfast and there was nothing at all. There was only coffee and a miniature cake!!!!! I did the tour and went over 8 hours without eating, as I didn't realize it was an 8-hour trip and that there was also nothing to eat at the stops. I reported the situation to the guide and was told I could have breakfast at the hotel. During the trip, I felt ill twice and almost fainted. At the end of the tour, I questioned the guide again and asked to clarify the situation with the hotel reception, who advised me to report it to the Portuguese tour operator. I went to the hotel reception and explained what had happened, and the receptionist easily pointed out that the guide hadn't notified the hotel and that I, the guest, should have requested breakfast earlier. In short, everyone dismissed their responsibility, no one apologized, and everyone's speech was clearly inconsistent. Simply...
Read moreThe room was great! The pool is much much smaller than on the picture but the temperature of it is perfect so it makes it very agréable! The beach is AMAZING! That’s it.
Negative points: The food is not that good at all. Plenty of choices but of poor quality. The drinks: we never had a soda with bubbles!!! Not once! For an all inclusive it is TERRIBLE!!! Their drinks are also terrible. arrêter d The Tunisians food are most of the time the best options. Also, they never cook enough the meat! Chicken is raw in the middle; fish the same !
Service: it’s ok depending on who is in front of you. They have a hard time to understand that when you are with a baby and on vacation; you want to RELAX!! So not necessarily participate to their games or activities. Same for the people that will sell you tours! All they want is your money- they don’t care to sell you tours unadapted for your family! Be AWARE! They lie to your face.
OVERALL that hotel for the price is really not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t go back especially for the attitude of the Tunisians people there. All they want is to CHARGE YOU MONEY! They poorly...
