Djerba Holiday Beach — Hotel in Djerba Island

We stayed as a family/ friend group of 7 in this hotel, the last 2 weeks of October 24. From age 27 to 84, we all loved the time at Djerba Holiday Beach and are so happy. For me, it is the 2nd time at this hotel and it was even better than in 2023. But also my family members who went there for the 1st time were immediately in love.| The hotel is in very good conditions, the site is clean, perfectly maintained, pretty garden and the pool is lovely. (my grandpa wants to point out that the pool water did not burn his eyes). The hotel rooms are comfortable. The food is great, there is always a big variety of food to choose from, also for vegetarians. The beach is beautiful, gets cleaned regularly and is located directly located behind the hotel. |But the soul of the hotel are the staff who work there and all of them deserve the biggest compliment. From the cleaning personnel to the life guards, the reception and the restaurant/bar staff, gardeners... everyone is just so friendly, attentive and professional in their job. It is just a perfect start of the day to leave your room in the morning and be greeted by the friendly smile of the hotel staff. |When my grandma had an accident and needed medical attention, it was just heartwarming, how caring, friendly and attentive everyone was. A big thank you to the bar staff, the security and live guards and the waiters of Holiday Beach.||The biggest contribution to our perfect holiday (almost perfect, since my grandma had the accident) made the Animation Team of Club Jumbo. Their work is just incredible. Everyone of the Club Jumbo Team did an amazing job. They let the sun shine even on rainy days.|There are multiple activities for every age group and the Team perfectly adapts to the individual participants. We enjoyed following activities:|- Gymnastics/ Stretching , Archery , Dance Lesson , Cooking, Water Aerobic / Aqua Gym , Step Aerobic , Zumba , Dance in the evening|Other activities offered, but we did not join, were: Darts, morning walks on the beach, boules, volleyball, bingo, football ... and of course activities of the kids in the Mini Club .|In the evening, the Club Jumbo Team organized entertainment like shows, karaoke, Quizz night, Dance Parties. The Shows deserve to be mentioned in particular. The skill of the Jumbo Team is just stunning. Great dancers and even special effects like fire and firework (outside). Just wow. WOW! Every night, there is a motto you can dress accordingly if you like and it is just fun to participate in. And it just looks cool if everyone on the dance floor is dressed all white for example.|Our love and big thank you goes to (in alphabetical order)|- Chackie (the language talent, great (show) dancer and just a great and sweet person)|- Chocolat (does an amazing job keeping everything running, is so good on stage and has such a pleasant voice)|- Chinois (I guess every parent was happy to know the kids were having fun under your kind watch)|- Dembele (best AquaGym EVA, and talented dancer and kind soul)|- DJ Blacky (We had a lot of fun at the dance and disco nights thanks to your music. And also Blacky did dance lessons in a really lovely way, very patient with my 80-year old grandma)|- Houcem (incredible artist. Thanks to you, the Disco was a visual feast almost every night. And your Halloween decoration was just amazing)|- Jamaica (the sportive team player)|- Junior (so kind and the kids love you back)|- Leo (great show dancer)|- Lulu (the sweet animatrice, my grandparents just loved you. And so pleasant to do yoga in the morning in your group)|- Willi (the entertainer, never fails to make you smile, fun to dance with, great step aerobic and AquaGym)|- Zuma (Zuma, is there anything you are not good at?? AquaGym, Zumba, (show) Dancing, making Brik, being Jack Sparrow ..)|Also, DJ Blacky has a nice assistant and the team's dance shows are coordinated by a really skilled dancer, but we forgot your names :( |If we can, we will definitely return and we wish the Team of Club Jumbo and the Djerba Holiday Beach staff...

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks from the end of October to the beginning of November. We had a great time. The hotel and the pool area are lovely, clean and in very good condition. The rooms are comfortable. The staff, including cleaning personnel, waiter, bartenders, maintenance, restaurant staff and garden personnel, is friendly and does their best to make your holiday perfect. When the waiters in the restaurant found out about my birthday, they surprised me with a cake and a birthday song.|The food is great!! There is always a good variety of different dishes. You can try typical Tunisian food but, e.g., pizza and pasta are also available. Vegetarians always find good options (show cooked fried and grilled vegetables!!!). Everything is freshly prepared and of high quality. The dessert buffet in particular always looks tempting and is great. |The beach is very close and gets cleaned regularly. There are cute and friendly beach dogs who like to be petted and peacefully hang out there. So if you don’t like dogs, they won’t bother you. |The main contribution to our great holiday was made by the animation team from Club Jumbo. There are activities for all preferences and age groups. The animation team nicely adapted the level of the activities to the fitness of the participants. We participated in the gymnastics, aqua gymnastics, dance courses, retro dance in the evening, morning walks along the beach, zumba, yoga, abs workout and step aerobics. Other activities such as darts, water polo, beach volleyball, boules and mini golf were also offered. Tennis and football courts were available. We enjoyed every minute. You feel that the team is dedicated to their work and skilled. A big thanks goes to (in alphabetical order): Choco (most kindhearted yoga instructor), Chocolat (most pleasant voice and great (show) dancer), DaVinci (Thank your for carving the pumpkins with us), Dembele (best aqua gym. EVAA! and great (show) dancer), DJ (Sorry, we forgot your name, but especially karaoke and your music choices were fun), Kimo (we saw, the kids in the kids club like you), Loufi (Great aqua gym, great and fun personalty and Ladies: Save a dance with him during retro dance time in the evening!), Mane (Waooow! So fun.), Momo (Best Lambada dancer, thanks for keeping us in shape with workouts ^^), Tito (Don’t want to miss you during retro dance!), Vika (First time we met a German animatrice, wonderful with kids. It was soo nice to meat you!), Willi (THE entertainer, fun step aerobics) and Ziko (supportive team player and keeps the mood up!)....

The hotel is located in a nice and quiet area, about 20 minutes from the airport, which was very convenient after a long journey. The surroundings are peaceful, ideal for relaxing.

Accommodation: The rooms were clean, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and made beds. However, the room furnishings were quite worn and outdated – a renovation would definitely be a plus. That said, since we mostly used the room just to sleep and shower, it didn’t bother us too much. Some insects were seen around the hotel – neighbors claimed they were cockroaches, but we fortunately didn’t find any in our room.

Animation and Staff: The animation team was absolutely amazing! Thanks to them, we truly enjoyed our holiday. There were daily activities like pool exercises, pétanque, darts, and even foam parties – there was always something fun to do. The only downside was that most of them didn’t speak English well, so communication could be tricky at times. However, their attitude toward children was fantastic – our daughter adored them.

The restaurant staff and bartenders mostly focused on French-speaking guests. Over time, we found a few bartenders who were friendly and attentive – we occasionally gave them a small tip, which they genuinely appreciated.

Food: The food was mostly tailored to French guests, which sometimes made it hard for us to choose. But in the end, we always found something to eat. Overall, I would rate the cuisine as average – not bad, but nothing exceptional.

Beach: Right next to the resort is a beautiful sandy beach guarded by hotel security. This meant we were not disturbed by vendors trying to sell trips or souvenirs – anyone who tried was promptly asked to leave. A big plus for safety and peace of mind.

Evening Program and Bars: What we missed compared to other destinations was a better evening program – no live shows, performances, or entertainment where you could sit down with a good drink and enjoy the night. The selection of drinks at the bars was also quite limited – only a few basic cocktails, nothing special.

Summary: Overall, I would rate this holiday positively. We had a good rest, enjoyed the sun, the sea, and the friendly vibe of the resort. While it wasn't the kind of trip that left us speechless or eager to rebook immediately, I don’t regret going and wouldn’t rule out returning...
