We’ve just returned from a week in Sousse and overall had a really enjoyable stay that offered excellent value for money. Arrival & First Impressions: The transfer from the airport took about an hour with a few drop-offs. The journey itself was a bit disheartening at times — the route takes you through some pretty rundown areas which didn’t inspire confidence, but don’t let that put you off. On arrival around 11:30am, we received a warm welcome. While we couldn’t check in until 2pm (and our room wasn’t ready until 2:30), we didn’t have to wait long for lunch which was appreciated after the flight. Accommodation: We were pleasantly surprised to be given two interconnected rooms — a king and a single — rather than a standard family room, which worked perfectly for our family of three. Our daughter loved having her own space! The room had a lovely sea view, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and spacious. Linen was clean and we had a decent night’s sleep throughout. A staff member checked in with us poolside on the first day to see if everything was okay — a nice touch — although a broken balcony rail we reported wasn’t fixed during our stay. Facilities & Cleanliness: The hotel claims five stars, though we’d say it’s more of a high 3 or low 4. The public areas and rooms could use a bit of TLC — some scruffy paintwork, a few loose tiles, and it took three days to fix a loose metal strip on a step near reception. That said, it didn’t impact our holiday much. Staff & Service: The staff were universally friendly and worked incredibly hard. While we tipped here and there, we didn’t feel pressured to, and it would be nice to see a central tipping option so all staff benefit, not just bar and restaurant teams. Food & Drink: Food was decent with a good range, especially of salads. Not quite TUI Sensatori level, but still enjoyable and with plenty of options. The snack bar was handy between buffet times, but we’d have liked the beach bar to stay open later than 5pm. Drinks were decent and served with a smile. Pools & Beach: Pools were cold in April, but the slides were open and popular with kids. Cabana beds by the main pool were free, which was a bonus! The beach was clean and well-kept, with lots of loungers available. Ignore the “no reserving” signs — if you want a good pool spot, you’ll need to be up early. Most are gone by 8am. Special shout-out to the older morning pool attendant — lovely guy. Weather: Mid-April weather was great — around 22°C but felt warmer. Evenings were cooler and occasionally windy, so bring a jacket. We had one evening of rain, but generally lovely. I managed a midday run daily without overheating, which was a plus. Other Notes: WiFi was excellent throughout the resort. The gym is very basic. Smoking and vaping is more culturally acceptable here, so you might notice it around the pool or in the bar. Evening entertainment was underwhelming, but we appreciated the lack of pushy reps. During the day, there’s always something going on (aqua aerobics, darts, volleyball), but no pressure to take part. Clientele & Surroundings: A mix of French, British, and Arabic guests — overall a relaxed and pleasant crowd. We walked to the Medina along the seafront — the souk was full of fake designer goods, but we picked up some lovely olivewood chopping boards (haggle hard!). Final Thoughts: This was a relatively inexpensive Easter break. The tourist tax (paid on card at the hotel) was about £64 for our family. Compared to Sensatori-level trips at £1500pp, this was less than half the price and, for us, worth every penny. Our daughter said she’d rather have two holidays like this than one double the cost — and we’d agree. Would definitely recommend for good value, sunshine, and a chilled-out vibe.

A Tactical 1 star review, because I know you lot beeline it for the bad feedback and in all honesty, THIS IS A 5 STAR REVIEW YOU MUST READ! Solo traveller - male mid 30s. FIRST IMPRESSIONS Upon arrival I was given a very warm welcome by security, who scan your bags, and then again at the reception. Check in wasn't until 2pm, however I was able to leave my bag and head for lunch and explore while my room was being prepared. The hotel is well maintained, with delicate, high quality architecture. Spacious lobby with multiple bars and seating throughout. Below the main entrance is the restaurant, and access to the lower ground/outdoor facilities. Signage is minimal if not none existent, which can be frustrating if you're looking for a particular space - however you're on holiday, take the time to meander and explore at a leisurely pace. ROOM My bags were taken to my room, and I was pleasantly surprised by the space, quality and cleanliness. The bathroom is huge, with a double spaced shower (water is powerful and hot!) Tea and coffee point, large comfy bed and a wonderful sea view from the enclosed balcony (worth the extra ££ in my opinion). There is a free use safe and small fridge too with bottled water. You can get 1l bottles of soft drink free from the restaurant if you wish to fill it. FACILITIES The resort has multiple pools (indoor and outdoor), a water slide for the kids and a lovely spa. A towel point is near the pools to obtain/exchange as well as a snack bar and small convenience shop to get trinkets, gifts, tobacco, food, sun creams etc. Bars can be found in the main lobby, terrace, pool area and beach front. There is direct beach access with a sheltered bar and security always on watch. The beach is in an acceptable state, however don't be shocked to find washed up rubbish and lots of seaweed. The staff took a daily exercise to clean where they could and comb the sand. Something which I'm sure is an unfortunate ongoing battle and mostly out of their hands. Please don't expect an exotic and pristine white sand beach, this isn't Thailand or the Carribbean. Both the beach and the pool areas have more than enough sunbeds, so you won't have to slip out in the dead of night to reserve one with a towel. FOOD & DRINKS There's a good range of food available each day within the main restaurant. Buffet style ranging from your chicken nuggets/chips, through to Italian, Tunisian, Indian, fruits, desserts, breads, crepes and waffles. The main dishes cycle each day if you're looking for something new to try and there's plenty to pick from for those that may be a little on the fussy side. All the food is fresh and of a fair to good standard. If you want something more formal in the evenings, two restaurants (one near the spa, and the snack bar near the pool) have reservation only dining which is more akin to going out for a meal with a fine range of quality dishes. The beer is reasonable, however Europeans and British - please don't expect a range of ales we've all been accustomed to. There's one beer type and one beer type only. Spirits are the cheap alternatives you'd expect at any lower priced all inclusive, with a fair range of cocktails to pick from. Soft drinks and water get served by the litre bottle. Make good use of this and take them back to your room at the end of the day for your fridge ;) ENTERTAINMENT Plenty of entertainment by the animation team throughout the whole day. Events cycle daily, so there's something new each day you are there. Tour guides can be found peppered through the resort to offer excursions and day trips. Pleasantly un-pushy and happy to just chat without the hard sale. See further details below 👇

I have been going to Tunisia every year from 2014, this is the first time we stayed at this hotel. We were given a nice side sea view with a spacious room. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant does do good food . Breakfast I did find it repetitive but big choice of food , lunch and dinner good even if they should have different choices of fish every day as I found it was most days the same, good choice of meat even if I found the meat cooked at the buffet restaurant needed to be cooked more as I had to leave few times the meat as it was still row, the bbq outside instead is perfect. I find really good that they actually give you proper bottles of drinks . We tried the fish restaurant it was not bad I did eat the starter and enjoyed but my husband didn't as he doesn't like cold platters of fish, we tried the tunisian themed restaurant the starter was nice but the couscous I was expecting something proper traditional tunisian couscous instead it was just couscous with near some fish and the tunisian tea it was horrible no mint and not sugar the one near reception was much better than the one served at the restaurant. I found that the animation team needs lots improvement as I found the staff really unprofessional smoking or being on the mobile while working in front of the customer and no coordination at all when dancing all of them together on the stage. I think they should maybe put the week programme near reception as well so that the customers know what is happening or create an app like the Scheherazade Hotel has that you can see all the week programme plus book activities or book themed resturants . The main big issue I had with this hotel was communication before the arrival they answered my first email but then when I sent another email few weeks before arriving they were not answering even the company I booked the hotel with they were sending email and calling the hotel without success at the end I email all the emails I could find online to try to contact them and sent the same email 3/4 time at the end to finally receive a reply ,I have seen lots of people on a group that have been trying to contact the hotel and all had the same problem. Downside is that you get good security at the gate but the check of bags and people is not carried out properly anymore and this is a mistake as people who enter the hotel should be still checked for the safety of the other customers. I enjoyed our stay at this hotel obviously there is always some improvement needed in some things but I would definitely stay again in this hotel .

A Fantastic Family Holiday – Thank You Jaz Tour Khalef!|We booked this hotel over a year ago for a special family holiday before our adult children begin their next chapters in life. Our group ranged in age from 15 to 57, and we stayed in three rooms: one Family Suite and two Double Rooms.|Arrival|We arrived early in the morning, expecting to wait for check-in. However, after a smooth and friendly registration process, we were pleasantly surprised to find our rooms ready. Wristbands were issued, and we were promptly shown to our rooms—an excellent start to the holiday!|Rooms|The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Beds were cozy, storage was sufficient, and our cleaner, Fatiha, ensured everything was spotless daily, including replenishing water as needed.|Family Suite Observations:|• The air conditioning in the main bedroom wasn’t working, though it wasn’t essential due to the mild weather.|• The balcony door was noisy and could use some maintenance.|• The glass-panelled bathroom door offered limited privacy, which was a concern for both adults and teens.|• The suite layout required the children to walk through the main bedroom to access the bathroom at night, which made them hesitant to disturb us.|These were minor issues and didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment, but we’ve stayed in similar suites elsewhere with more private and practical layouts.|Pools|The pools were chilly but clean and well-maintained. Our teenagers loved the slide pool and spent most of their time there, while we preferred relaxing by the saltwater pool. Lifeguards and bar staff kept the area tidy and safe.|Bar Staff|From the moment we arrived, Baccar and his team at the pool bar were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always ensuring we had drinks in hand. Their service was a highlight of our stay. The Terrace Bar staff were equally fantastic, though we didn’t catch their names.||During the evenings, Houssem looked after us and ensure that we were well hydrated during the evening entertainment!|Restaurants|The hotel offers a variety of dining options:|• Main Buffet: We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here daily. The variety was impressive, catering to all tastes. Breakfast included cereals, yoghurts, fruit, eggs in every style, pastries, crepes, waffles, and more. Dinner featured seafood, steak, curries, casseroles, pizza, pasta, traditional Tunisian dishes, sushi, roast meats, salads, cheeses, and desserts.|• Snack Bar: After finding the buffet a bit heavy for lunch, we opted for the snack bar, which was perfect. Offerings included pasta, pizza, grilled meats (chicken, turkey, sausages, burgers), vegetables, salads, fruit, and ice cream.|• À la Carte Restaurants: The Italian and Seafood restaurants were included in our all-inclusive package and provided a lovely change of pace.|Restaurant Staff|• Breakfast: Faten was amazing—she had our table ready each morning with fresh orange juice, coffee, and water.|• Lunch: The snack bar waiter (name unknown) was efficient and remembered our drink preferences, often having them ready before we sat down.|• Dinner: B Mariem looked after us every evening, managing the busiest section with grace and speed. His attentiveness and professionalism were exceptional.|Animation Team|The animation team truly made our holiday special. Lio, Midou, Youssef (Joe), Amarni, and Davide were friendly, funny, and incredibly talented. They engaged guests without being pushy and worked hard to entertain everyone. Their self-choreographed shows—especially the Dance Show, Animation Sketch, and Fire Show—were fantastic. We also enjoyed the cultural performances like the Tunisian and Arabic shows.|Summary|This was a truly memorable family holiday. The service—from housekeeping to bar staff, waiters, and the animation team—was outstanding. We would absolutely return and have already recommended Jaz Tour Khalef to friends and family.|Thank you, Jaz Tour Khalef, for an amazing holiday filled with memories we’ll treasure...

Make good use of this and take them back to your room at the end of the day for your fridge ;)

ENTERTAINMENT Plenty of entertainment by the animation team throughout the whole day. Events cycle daily, so there's something new each day you are there. Tour guides can be found peppered through the resort to offer excursions and day trips. Pleasantly un-pushy and happy to just chat without the hard sale.
