So let's start with the great things about this hotel (although I would describe it more as a Bed & Breakfast). The room was spotlessly clean and the gardens are beautifully landscaped. The breakfast is divine - freshly cooked, excellent jams, eggs etc. It would have been nice to have been offered coffee as well as tea - not a big deal though. The location is excellent - 5 minutes walk to the Dolmus stop, from where you can get to Cesme and the beach at Ilica (although we preferred Altinkum beach - cleaner & quieter, but two Dolmus rides away). Also 5/10 minute walk to the centre of Alacati - we were glad to be out of the centre which is extremely busy and noisy.||||The owners spoke little to no English so we were left to fend for ourselves in terms of working out how to get to Alacati centre, the beach, hire a car, to Cesme etc. Fortunately there was an English speaker at the Tourist Info office in Cesme. It would however have been nice to have been provided some very basic information by the Hotel.||||One of the reasons I would not stay there again is that I specifically looked for a Hotel with a pool as my daughter loves to swim. The pool opening hours (12-7pm) were however rather restrictive - most people are out at those times and there was no opportunity to have an early morning or post-breakfast dip. It seemed as if the pool was mainly for show as the the three people I saw swimming in it were told off as it was not 'open'.||||Also, I would have liked to sitting outside and relax in the evening but the environment was not right for this - there was no light so it was not possible to read or play a game after it got dark. There were also no chairs/table outside our room and I never felt comfortable getting the deck chairs to use. ||||Most off-putting was the fact that the owners' very young daughter had no boundaries. On the occasions I sat outside, she would come and grab my mobile phone, iPad or reading glasses, resulting in a very embarrassing tug-of-war, accompanied by screeching, whilst her parents looked on. I was concerned my possessions would get broken. On one occasion, the child's father came over, took my phone out of mine and the child's hands and proceeded to show her what apps were on it!!! She also seemed to be allowed to come into the guests rooms and often when we wanted to go out of the hotel for the day she would stand in front of the door, blocking our way and saying "no no no" repeatedly. I found it all very embarrassing and difficult, and it was inappropriate to put paying guests in that situation. ||||We stayed 10 nights as the beach part of our holiday. I will definitely return to Alacati/Cesme as we really loved it. But I would...
Read moreThis was one of the best boutique hotels I have been to in my life. Very calm, bright and relaxing. Every detail in the hotel seems to be created with love and care here. The room was clean and quiet. Delicious Turkish breakfast was served every day and the owners tried to make it variable for the guests, which is also very much appreciated. In general, since it is a family owned business, the owners are very helpful and accommodating. Location is also very good, if you want to hang out in the old town of Alacati in the evening. However, note that it is a bit further away from the beach and most likely you will need a car or bicycle to go to the sea. There is a bike rental 15 minutes away from the hotel, where you can rent a bicycle or scooter for a reasonable price. Alternatively, you can use public transportation, but since I never used it, I can't say if it is...
