Papazz — Restaurant in Çeşme

Can I just say Wow. If Papazz is in anyway accessible to you at any stage, I urge you to visit. The setting begets a truly magical dinner and that’s before I mention the food. Everything, from the open roof and kitchen to the beautiful design is just magical. The staff are very professional and friendly, willing to guide you through the culinary experience with recommendations and insight.

I would absolutely recommend coming hungry. To not taste every variety on the menu, would be a tragic misstep. Every dish is an adventure in what natural and organic ingredients can conjure in one’s tastebuds. I will likely return to Çeşme purely to relive this. A great family owned spot for the best local dishes. A small garden restaurant, owner serves too. We tried artichoke rice as hot appetizer, it was delicious and was my favorite. We tried Kuzu tandır, it was very tender and comes on a bed of rice with some sauteed veggies. Their rice is delicious too. But the populer dish here is "oğlak tandır". They also have grilled fish. The reason for 4 star is that I am an AC person in hot summer nights. Otherwise great in terms of quick service, local food/dishes, attention to the tables. Our meal at Papazz was one of the best meals we had during our holiday in Turkey. It has a lovely serene courtyard setting with overhanging bogainvillea, with none of the bustle and noise of other Alacati venues! We liked how the cold meze all came out in a platter and were described to us, so we could pick the ones that we wanted. We enjoyed the grilled sardines, slow cooked lamb, grilled calamari and goat cutlets. Everything was superb. It was a fairly pricy meal (in line with other meals in Alacati) however we felt that the quality of food, service and the overall experience was well worthy of it....
