Grand İstanbul Airport Hotel — Hotel in Bağcılar

excellent proximity to airport, good choice for layovers between flights, very helpful staff expecially the manager and the night shifter have helped us a lot for the surrondings, and transportation to the airport. We liked the location because it is also nearby to the biggest shopping mall of Istanbul. We liked Turkish coffee they offered me when we checked-in to the hotel. The rooms are clean and neat, they put extra efford to let you experience at home. People are so friendly, hospitable, and generous. New hotel so everything is brand new, you do not have any problems. Thanks for everything we needed and everything was kept immaculate by the friendly housekeeping staff who attended the rooms everyday. We appreciated the additional touches of bottled water and replenished toiletries. We definetely recommend this hotel to everyone, hope to see you...

-To begin with the room was small and dark, 2 tiny light bulbs in the corner at the window and one in the bathroom. -The room maintenance is almost non existent, given the Mold in the corners and the decaying walls and ceiling. -The beds are around 170cm long. I'm 6'4 (194cm) tall, so you can see how uncomfortable that was for me. -The rooms are barely isolated, you can easily hear other guests having their fun. -As i entered the room i was welcomed by a few mosquitos that i had to hunt down or endure for the rest of the night.

-the sheets and pillows looked clean and smelled decent, which is the absolute minimum requirement.

Not sure if worth mentioning, the receptionist took a bit extra money claiming that the value of...

I hate to say this because the guy at the front desk was very kind, attentive and seemed to be hard working, but.... Because of other reviewers I thought this would be fine for just a quick stay during a long layover. I'd disagree. The room was so smelly, the curtains were barely hanging, the mattress was stained, the TV was broken, the window has been open with no screen so there was a mosquito in my room. At first I couldn't access my air conditioner because there was no remote in the room, though this was resolved, thankfully. Maybe for others this would still be an okay option, but I wish I would have paid a bit more and stayed somewhere else. It was cheap!...
