I went to Izmir not (only) for tourism and needed something close to the specific location and for low cost. What you pay is what you get. A review, from my perspective, should always take under consideration this fact, so as I am aware of that, I think that my review below is fair. Basics first. The room is nothing special but decent! Not good lighting within the room but ok. Bed not very soft...but ok! The important is that it's clean, in a great location, so close to the center square but in a very quiet street. Next to hotel there are places to eat, get a coffee, buy staff, a pharmacy, etc. For the cost of the room, it was a fair deal. Also, something rare...the images in hotel's page are accurate! It's exactly what we saw there!
There is no breakfast option, however in just 20 meters there is a great bakery and also a store with fruits with good prices and excellent quality. Staff in hotel was really friendly and helpful, however the lack of understanding of English language was a bit challenging. (Hotel staff to not been able to communicate in english? I couldn't believe it). Anyway, no one else could speak in the city, so...god bless..google translation! Nevertheless, all were willing to assist and provide information, including even the ladies who cleaned the room.
Beds and pillows could be softer! The smell of cigarettes in the toilet (from ventilation) that I read, in prior, in other critics, it's a real thing! Not something terrible but it's there. The hotel is very small and has no space, in general. No reception (just a small desk), dark small stairs. not a very good lighting in corridors! It is, what it is...but it's quite! The hotel was very quiet in general. I never heard any noise or voices!
Wifi was available, always up and with decent speed to do all necessary, watch movies, etc. No issues, there! Bathroom was clean, air condition was used a lot and was silent! There is a decent big screen television but without internet capabilities, so no option to use our Netflix, Disney, etc account there. We almost never turned it on (used our tablet only as the Wifi was ok).
For me that I wanted a simple, low cost room, for this price was a good selection! If you want something fancy or something that you want to take pictures to saw to your follower, go...
Read moreAfter we reviewed the hotel in good heart in hopes to warn future guests of the reality of the hotels condition, my girlfriend Frida (see review below) they responded this review with accusations and lies. Although this experience was not misfortunate enough, Mr Deniz called us multiple times demanding we delete this review, and ONLY then would they be willing to refund our stay. They threatened us that they would take this to court, this has clearly also shown us the reality of this “family owned business” that we were unfortunate to come across. We booked through a third party, who has been kindly helping us in trying to get in touch with the hotel as well, with no success (Agoda). We are standing firmly by our review regardless of the threats imposed on us, and regardless of the financial loss, as we believe this should be a warning to all - not only is the presentation of the hotel in poor condition, but sadly, so is the hospitality management and owners. It has been an upsetting and regrettable experience in all aspects. Let this be a...
Read moreVery nice and helpful staff at this hotel. Hotel is only 1 minutes walk from the main town centre and only 5 minutes walk from the river/waterfront and the ferry terminal. The bus station and train station is only 1 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets very nearby. I stayed here for 11 nights and this hotel was very clean and convenient and also very reasonably priced and much cheaper in comparison to similar hotels locally. The staff are willing to help 24/7 and constantly asking what more they could do for me. If you are not bothered about star ratings but want to stay in a great location at a great price then this is the hotel for you. I certainly will be...
