I stayed at this hotel last summer with my family and was just prompted to write a review when I noticed there was nothing yet for the Munahan. Go here! It is a gorgeous, relaxing place, with a small but amazing 'natural rock' pool and hammock. My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel after a night in a less expensive hotel in Bodrum, while waiting for my parents to arrive. We arrived at about 11 am, before we were 'supposed to' check in. The lovely proprieter offered us a fabulous Turkish breakfast - toasted bread, great coffee, best cheese I'd had in Turkey - on the house, just because we might be hungry. They sent a driver to pick up my parents, who had flown in directly from the US, in a nice, air conditioned car. The owner told me that there had been a mix-up with one of the rooms we requested - I can't remember exactly what the problem was now - so they upgraded that room to a suite at no additional charge! That suite was on a balcony that overlooked the pool, which of course I had to give to my parents, and our room was steps away from the pool. While sitting at the pool we were brought plates of fresh fruit on ice and water. |The owners were so nice, one of them making reservations at a small, out of the way fish restaurant literally ON the water - our table was on sand - and told the restaurant owner, a friend, to take extra special care of us. The next day, we wanted to go out on a sailboat, but not a 'group' party boat. The owner called another friend, a captain, who took us out on his boat for what my entire family called the highlight of their Turkey trip. In addition to the above and beyond owners, the rooms were lovely - charming but with modern amenities - great shower, A/C, etc. and the roof terrace provided us with a lovely place to create our own cocktail hour and have wonderful sunset views. The only negative, if it's a negative to you, is that you're not RIGHT in town. It was a positive for us - a 20 minute walk to the heart of the nightlife district, or there is a cab stand right outside of the hotel to drive you in - but if you want to be in the thick of the crowds and the noise, it's not the right place. If you want an oasis in...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Munahan based on the Trip Advisor review. We wanted a place a little outside of the Bodrum party scene and this place sounded pefect. As in all of our Turkish hotel experiences the two weeks we were there, the service was warm, friendly, and helpful in every way. The owners spoke English allowing|us to ask about various sightseeing and bank information in the town.|The place was just beautiful, the hotel itself wrapped around a lush and charming pool. One of the highlights of our trip was coming back to the hotel on our last night and finding our beds decorated with a romantic display of flowers. I have never seen anything like it and can only assume my beautiful daughter who was travelling with me was the inspiration because, from the reaction of the owners, it seemed to be a surprise. Anyway, it was a memorable experience for us and left us with many loving thoughts of the place. The only downside was|what drew us there in the beginning. It is up a rather steep hill and|my daughter and I like to walk as much as possible. It was a bit challenging for me, so we taxied often into the heart of town. For most people, it would be no problem to go down the hill and catch a dolmish, the wonderful, cheap Turkish public transport into town. Bodrum was lovely, not at all packed, hot, or overrun with tourists as I had expected. We also took a ferry across to the Greek island of Kos which we loved. I highly recommend this hotel for its charm, beauty, and...
