If this was advertised as a 3* rating maybe I wouldn't have been so disappointed - but it isn't. There is nothing modern, ultra or tasteful about this hotel! It's Benidorm meets Skegness but 5 times the price. Even with Turkey's economy currently this place is expensive with an initial ask of €300 per night we eventually paid €220. The pictures on the booking website (popular .com website) are clearly from when it first opened or are highly edited - it's not accurate to it's state now. Booked a pool access room - which we were expecting ground floor as pictured but it also includes the upper level with a flight of stairs - which isn't an issue but it is not advertised as a potential option and would have affected my decision at booking based on price. The rooms are tired, grubby (especially the bathroom) and in need of a deep clean let alone a repaint! Unfortunately like most 'european' style hotels you can hear every noise in the whole block & the Aircon sounded like our own personal jet engine. The birds nest on our balcony which covered everything in bird poo really topped it off. The 'mini bar' is a fridge in a cupboard which turns off when the key is removed. The pool area was ok but there was still a lot of dirt and the staff were still cleaning around people at 10am most mornings. Unfortunately the sun loungers have seen better days and the clean towels ran out by 2pm - which on the first day we were told there was a towel service but the second day different staff told us there is no towel service! There are only a handful of parasols for the sunbeds meaning lack of shade for most of the day. However, I had to do what I hate and be a typical Brit going out at 9am to get a sunbed otherwise it was the floor. The pool surroundings are tired and cracked in places. The slides are ok - however the area around it was disgusting and there were about 20 cracked and loose tiles. The staff we encountered were all nice, friendly and helpful. Trying their best to keep up during the day with entertainment such as shooting & pool activities. The music in the evening was ok, loud but only till 11pm (whilst a good provision by the hotel it's not advertised and not what we wanted personally in our hotel stay). The restaurant was absolute carnage every meal time. Like watching a pack of piranhas being fed fresh meat. But it was mainly fried food or food in a heavy sauce at lunch and evening meal. The salad selection was good however at both meal times. Breakfast selection was probably the best with fresh egg station and options for Turkish style breakfast, fruit and yogurt. None of the communal areas had Aircon turned on or sun blinds. Whilst the views are lovely around 4pm when the sun hits all the glass, in the middle of July it made sitting inside unbearable. The outside areas didn't appear to be kept clean - the stairwells and outdoor walkways were quite dirty. It would be helpful if on check in you were advised of all the different timings for the various restaurants/ bars / slides etc. My personal experience for the price, for what I was expecting in the way this hotel is advertised, was absolutely not worth it. Ultimately we decided to leave after the first night. The operations manager was very helpful and apologetic and facilitated a refund for the nights we had not stayed through our booking provider.

Well, what a start! We walked into the hotel lobby and were immediately hit by that “abandoned office block” aesthetic. Minimalist? Sure, if by minimalist you mean empty and sad. The staff looked like extras in a zombie movie, trudging through their shifts waiting for someone to end the season (or their suffering). We arrived during October half-term, otherwise known as “the week everyone here stops caring.” Our first room came with a complimentary dead-drain aroma, Eau de Sewage, very exclusive and a nightly soundtrack courtesy of the entertainment echoing down the corridor until 11:30 p.m. Who needs sleep when you’ve got muffled karaoke? Top tip: Bring earplugs. Or industrial noise-cancelling headphones. Or maybe just don’t come. The corridors have no fire doors, meaning sound travels freely along with your will to live. And the rooms? Oh, they’re bright! Who needs blackout curtains when you can be serenaded to sleep by the glow of the hallway light streaming into your eyes? After a hostage-worthy negotiation with reception, we got moved to another room, far from the main building, which was ideal since that’s where the “fun” happens. The bathroom, however, could have starred in The Mold Identity. The shower thoughtfully floods the floor, so every morning begins with a quick mop-up using all your towels. Who doesn’t love a bit of cardio before breakfast? Speaking of cardio, the gym is a museum exhibit titled Fitness Equipment Through the Ages. Everything looks like it last saw action in 2009. The treadmill belts are looser than the hotel’s definition of “five-star,” and one mirror’s been smashed presumably by the last guest who got a good look at themselves mid-stay. The pools look lovely until you get in and realise it’s basically an Arctic plunge. Great if you’re a penguin. The pool bar is the saving grace; the staff there actually seem to like people, and they pour strong drinks which you’ll need. All-inclusive? Technically, yes. But instead of Coke or Fanta, you get Rola Cola and Banta nostalgic for anyone whose mum used a SodaStream in the ’90s. As for the gin and tonic — let’s just say it’s mostly gin, barely tonic, and tastes like it could fuel a small aircraft. The “a la carte” restaurant was flooded and “closed for the season.” So was the steam room. And apparently, the concept of air conditioning too, because 26°C “isn’t hot.” Reception promised to “speak to management” and get back to us. Still waiting. Might still be waiting next season. If you’re reading this thinking, “Oh, it’s just one grumpy guest,” you’re half right. I am grumpy, but only because this five-star resort turned out to be a two-star in disguise. Summary: If you’re after the full “budget holiday dressed as luxury” experience mould, mystery smells, and musical corridors included, this is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else.

The Garcia Resort & Spa - A nightmare of dirt, poor hygienic standard and a really poor buffet I would like to share my very negative experience from my stay at Garcia Resort & Spa. From start to finish it was a huge disappointment. Cleaning: Cleaning throughout the Garcia Resort & Spa was sloppy and in some places non-existent. Our room was only cleaned superficially and there were obvious signs of sloppiness. The bathroom was not cleaned - only some towels were changed and there was an unpleasant smell of sewage. Hygiene at the pool: It was an unpleasant experience staying at the pool. Diapers, rubbish, used glass and spilled ice lay for several days without being removed. A leaky sewer emitted an unpleasant odor that made it almost impossible to be around. Kitchen and dining: The kitchen at the Garcia Resort & Spa was disgusting! There were leftovers in the kitchen and it was not cleaned properly - neither between meals nor during the buffet's opening hours. The food was of really poor quality and monotonous. The so-called "ala carte" restaurant was a mockery of the concept - a few chairs placed by the pool and with the same sad food as in the buffet. The pool bar serves the worst burgers and fries we have ever tasted! (see picture) Facilities: The training room at the Garcia Resort & Spa was worn and dirty and it was obvious that it was not maintained. The floor was full of holes, there was obvious moisture in the walls and virtually all machines should have been replaced many years ago. The stairs in the pool were loose and downright dangerous to use. Of the few showers by the pool, only a few worked. The stairs between the different levels were full of holes and missing large shards in some places, so you had to be careful not to cut your feet. In several places by the pool there were loose and smashed tiles which could also cut your feet if you weren't careful. Both the activity room with pool tables and their so-called Kids Club at the Garcia Resort & Spa were some of the dirtiest I have ever seen. Large stains on the carpets revealed that these had never been cleaned and there was only a single pool cue for two tables. We would never send our children to this Kids Club - it seemed more like a room they used for storage than for entertaining children and was, like everywhere else in the hotel, hygienic. The spa at the Garcia Resort & Spa was also a disappointment and should not be called a spa. It was worn and dirty - some areas were closed off and in disrepair. Staff and service: The staff at the Garcia Resort & Spa were not particularly service minded. We contacted the management to complain about these circumstances but he would not do anything about it! Conclusion: I strongly advise against booking a stay at Garcia Resort & Spa. It was an unpleasant experience that far from met our expectations.

we stayed for 10 nights as a family of 6 3 adults 2 young teens and a child. Staff- olay & effee at reception need there own special mention as they go above and beyond my children looked forward to seeing them every day and talking about there daily adventures always mind smiling and happy to chat sorted any small issues we have that were towels that hadn't been replaced leaving us with one towel, Dovet being taken out and some pillows although we did request extra pillow other than the small bolters and one normal play requested them 3 times for us and we didn't get them but that's minor. Olay was always happy to translate when needed and they really did go above and beyond thank you. The manager of the restaurant ahmet is also lovely was always friendly and did his best to always help. There was a young blonde girl who worked the bars she always went above and beyond and made my youngest holiday with creating special drinks other than her favourite that was tinky winky I didn't catch her name witch is a shame the same as another teenage girls who worked the restaurant pool bar and 24 hour bar with dark hair. House keeping was the one thing that we felt lacked they came everyday at at one point left us with one towel no pool towels and no dovets and took the small bolster pillow however this was sorted. They come in change the bins add water and cold the cover sheet but I feel that was all. Compared to other hotels in turkey and that area of turkey it was a little disappointing. All bar staff and cup collectors, Gardners cleaners etc worked so hard with smiles. Entertainment is what you make it and very personal day time for us was lacking eve was ok but some was a little boring and there was a lack of tabel and chairs. Kids club wasn't open when we went to see for the youngest and we was staying right by it and wasn't open once that we saw. Always music playing. There is daytime activities but aren't for us and not like we are used to but it is what you make it. Mini disco is great. Beach parry you have to pay £10 per adult (over 12) and £7 per child for 4-7pm that is a disco on the beach we didn't go so can't tell you what it's like but we just felt it was money that wasn't going to be worth it . Sunday there is no entertainment as it's there day off so the do the beach party. Al e cart was out favourite just a shame its only open twice and you can only go once in your stay was the best food we had. I have allergies and I'm limited to what I can eat but managed to find things accept at breakfast my 2 very fussy older 2 also always found something all day to eat the rest of the family all ate well apart from one night out of 10. There is a little food station outside but always seemed to stop and not be restock after 8 even tho ifs open till 9 so was a little disappointing. Drinks are what you expect local spirits and beer. No battle for sunbed that was great always loads of room at the pool. Shop is very over priced and actually worked out cheaper to get a taxi to town and buy there. Lots of empty shops that are no longer there to. We had the most amazing view from our room we arrived and was missing a bed within mins one was made and brought to us. Room and bathroom was very clean when we arrived and there was no smells the whole time we was there anywhere in the room of by the pool. Was always staff busy doing cleaning and gardening making sure pool area was cleaned saw pool ph levels checked regularly.

There are the most loving well looked after cats that my children adored and adored playing with even naming them.

Easy to get a taxi around 230 Lyra to hisarnu and 320 to olu deniz.

Overall we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful location with amazing staff. Thank you for a great experience.

We have heard of has been brought by a new owner and will be having work over Winter but not sure how true but we would definitely come back if this is the case to see if. It does need so tlc and some work but had so much potential I would say it's more a 4 star...

This was a last minute booking to wind down for the last week of school holidays. It was an ok experience because we weren't looking for much, just a place to relax, eat, and enjoy the views. We booked a sea view room and the views from our balcony was stunning. We could not stay by the main pool side as all 140m, too deep for our 6 year old to enjoy so mostly stayed at the water slide pool which my son enjoyed but getting a sunbed with shade was a challenge. Staff would take parasols from here to the main pool, by our 4th day, there was only 3 or 4 parasols by the water slide pool. ||The pool side toilets were filthy and smelt so bad! Strong stench of Urine throughout our stay. Soap dispenser was broken so had to scoop soap out to wash our hands. Just really unacceptable. ||Our room was comfortable but again the toilet and shower was disgusting. I'm not one to peek under toilet rims to inspect cleanliness but attached picture of our toilet for context. Really unacceptable and no change after first round of cleaning to address. It eventually got scrubbed to an ok condition but cleanliness at this hotel needs serious attention. We stayed in another 5* resort also Fethiye last year that was at least 3 times larger than this one, also built many years ago and with lots of outdoor facilities but there, everything was spotless and smelt great all the time despite us staying literally until the end of season when the hotel closed for the year. So really the condition at Garcia is inexcusable and actually quite offensive for a resort claiming to be 5||The staff we interacted with seemed pleasant and helpful ||The food was average and didn't taste like much. Not much on offer either but enough to pick one meal each time otherwise things become repetitive. There were times where it was just a slight variation of rice, potatoes, fish and some sort of meat stew for dinner but we managed. |No fresh juices on offer, just concentrate pineapple, sour cherry and orange juice on offer from the machines. These were not chilled either but you can ask for ice at the bar. ||One thing I found very annoying was that although they advertise breakfast start at 7:30am, things like pancake (if available at all) and omelette was not available in until 8am. A pain for days when we had to leave earlier for an excursion. ||Overall they seemed very stingy with the food on offer and immediately shut down drinks machines at the stated meal end time. ||We got one free visit to the only A la Carte restaurant (free for if staying 7 or more nights). The setting was great and food was very delicious. This is only open Weds and Fridays. ||A shuttle to the local beach is provided. This only operates once leaves 10:30am and pick up at 4pm. Not ideal as would need to get taxis if wishing to leave earlier. The beach was really nice though and the toilets there were very clean and smelled nice as opposed to the stinky ones at the hotel. ||We tried the kids club once but there was no one there. The room itself looked like not much to offer so we didn't bother trying again and found other ways to keep the 6 yo entertained. ||Chain smoking guests at pool side and meal times are a real pain. Didn't matter if you were inside the restaurant, the doors are open so have to put up with the smoke and stray cats..||This resort is very far from Dalaman airport. We took a shared shuttle there and was last off 3 groups to be dropped off. This journey was 2 hours. Going back, we were the last to be picked up so it was direct to the airport (true gauge of timings) this time it took about 80 - 90 mins. ||Overall we found a way to still enjoy our one week holiday but would not return not recommended this resort. This resort is a 3+ hotel and calling itself a 5* is really misleading. The 2024 review justifying the 5* status is a joke. We've been to other 5* hotels in Turkey in the past couple of years and Garcia falls far short in comparison. I'm not sure if the 5* is legit but it's...
