|This is our second visit to Montana Pine Resort and Spa. Our first visit was our honeymoon 25 years ago. We thought it would be nice to return with our two teenage children and renew our vows. Montana Pine had made this very special as we renewed our vows in the evening during sunset. Thank you so much and making this very special and memorable. ||On Arrival at the hotel at midnight and we were greeted by security who called in the porter and escorted us to reception. We checked in and were given sandwich rolls and drinks. We were taken to our room and told of all the facilities. Our luggage shortly arrived to our room. Our room was the Mountain Suite. To the left of the suite is the first bathroom and two single beds with an AC above. In the middle of the suite is seating area with a TV, two wardrobes, fridge and a large safe. To our right is a room with double bed with ensuite, TV and AC. ||Breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7.30am to 10.30am. All meals are served at the Pinewood Restaurant. Good choice of fruits, cereals, preserves and honeycomb. Drinks - tea, coffee, soft drinks and juices. Good choice of freshly cooked food including omelletes, fried eggs, baked beans, pastries and Turkish food. Choice of cooked meats and cheeses. Cooked food included grilled fish, turkey, chicken and beef both Turkish or European. Good choice of cooked, baked and boiled vegetables. Soft drinks, beer and wine is served throughout. |Evening meals served from 7pm. Again good choice of fruits, desserts, salads, olives, peppers and bread. Cooked dishes includes Turkish and European. Soft drinks, beer, wine and cold water served throughout. Ample amount of space and inside and outside seating. The tables are cleaned and clean cutlery and glasses are placed instantly, the waiting staff really work hard are very accommodating. I applaud the staff and management of staff. It was also reassuring to see the chefs out talking to people and checking the food.||Pools are well maintained and cleaned every evening. Good collection of sunbeds. The main pool with waterfall has a depth of approximate 2m. The pool has a bar serving all sorts of drinks, fizzy, local beer (Efes), local spirits, cocktails, mocktails and hot drinks. The pool has the Marmara Restaurant serving snacks and ice cream. The pool above the main has depth of approximate 1.6m also has a pool bar in this area freshly cooked pancakes served later in the day. The third pool located on the end of the resort has a small circular pool for small children and large pool with depths from 1.4m to 2m good for families. It is served by the Dolphin Bar again serving hot and cold drinks. Every afternoon we are greeted by the entertainment team occasionally serving cold scented face towels. ||Reception area is a nice open space with a large TV and ample amount of inside and outside seating. It also has large bar serving hot and cold drinks - local and branded spirits. The resort is covered in gorgeous well maintained vegetation surrounded by pine trees. There is a photographer (Kenan) onsite with reasonable prices and packages. We would definitely recommend that you see Kenan to make your holiday that little more special and memorable. ||Other facilities include the Pine Shop which has a collection of bags, jewellery, snacks, drinks, pool inflatables, pool leisurewear, Ice creams, cigarettes and vapes. Crocus spa has good reasonable spa packages, my wife has the Turkish bath and massage. She felt really rejuvenated. Thank you the ladies. ||Sunset Bar located further up the resort. Definitely worth a visit. The bar is open from 7-8pm. Seating with parasols. Beautiful views and gorgeous well maintained vegetation. Adjacent to this is the activities area - crazy golf, tennis court and etc. ||Evening entertainment - I applaud all the staff and management in providing good quality entertainment throughout the day. During the day there is programme of activities including crazy golf, air rifle, table tennis to water gym. Evening entertainment is anything from acrobats, dancers, magicians to live bands. All high quality entertainers followed by a DJ playing all genre of music until later into the night. ||Outside of the resort I would definitely recommend the Lycian walk which would take you tracks overlooking the Olu Deniz beach and views of the mountains. Please see the images of the signs to look out for. Close by is the Babadag Cable Car. Again a definite must for everyone. The cable car takes you heights of 1900 metres taking approx 16 minutes or if you feel a little more adventurous you can take the 25 minute walk to heights of 2000 metres. A short taxi ride or a 20 minute walk to Hisarönü village with shops, cafes and bars. The best time of the day is in the evenings when the road is closed off for pedestrians and is a...
Read morePros: shuttle bus to the beach. Leaves at 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30 and picks you up from 16:00 - 17:00. Hotel boat: it is so beneficial to book via guest relations. They run 2 trips, a Fethiye Bay trip which we did. It was £58 for an adult and it was beautiful. They also run a 12 island boat trip for £70 per adult. The boat trips you can book along the coast are cheaper, but they are much busier, the hotel trip runs with around 15 people. A La Carte restaurant. This is a must! The chef is amazing and the food is of a great restaurant standard. The prices are heavily discounted. The sushi dishes are between £2-£4. It is very worth it. Entertainment team is amazing. They host a wide variety of activities during the day and in the evenings. Location of the hotel is great. You often get a nice breeze being further up the mountain (although it was still blistering hot 37-40 degrees on our stay in July) it is also around 500 lira for a taxi to Fethiye or 200 lira to/from the beach. It is around a 20 minute walk to the cable cars from the hotel as well, this is well worth visiting. Outstanding grounds with amazing plants Taxi’s are very regular, you simply walk to the security box and press a green button and within a few minutes a taxi will be there. The drinks you can get are great, the cocktails are very nice with a good selection and the bar staff are wonderful. Each pool has its own bar which is extremely useful. You don’t have to walk far to get a drink. Rooms get cleaned everyday with fresh towels. They are very spacious and each room has its own little balcony. Turkish night the food is amazing! It is a shame they don’t do more local dishes everyday, but it is worth the wait for this evening. The entertainment is great and the food is wonderful, particularly the kebab and charcoal grill! There is food throughout the day. From patisseries, ice cream, Turkish pancakes, snack buffet and even late night soup… which is well worth it. If you are an animal lover, there are plenty of cats that roam around the grounds. They do not linger around, but if you catch them they are friendly and like a stroke! There are also tortoises, porcupines and pigs on the hotel grounds. We saw the tortoises but nothing else. I think you have to go for a walk around the Lyceum Way to see the rest.
Cons: vegetation food choices are limited. The meat options are great, but if you are vegetarian, then there are times you are limited to salad and vegetables. It was very hard for my partner the get protein in. At dinner, there is usually one hot vegetarian dish but if you don’t like that then you’re out of luck. There is always fish on, the same grilled fish everyday and then occasionally another fish dish. Sun beds… the hotel has a ‘no reservation rule’ but unfortunately they do not enforce this. At the start of our holiday, we were off peak summer and it was easy to find a sun bed, but towards the end it was the start of the kids holidays back in England and suddenly towels were on sun beds all day, but there is often not people on them! Particularly in the morning, beds are reserved but people were not on them. I am not sure if there is enough sun beds for ever guest and it does create issues. I think the hotel should do something about this. Not much is in walking distance. It is a trade off between a beautiful location and being around other places to explore. It did not impact us as we got taxis, but if you are someone who needs to walk around and explore, then it is harder at this hotel. Air conditioning in the rooms (at least ours) is not amazing. It kept the room cool, but because of the design of the rooms, they blow onto a wall instead of the majority of the room. We countered this by putting a deposit down for another key card to keep the aircon on when we were out of the room, but it still was not as good as others I have had. Maybe it wouldn’t be such as big a problem if it was not 38-40 degrees like it was during our stay. Although the hotel has free wifi for guests it is...

What can I say? This hotel has everything to offer. If you want to get involved, have a good time with people, and then you have an amazing entertainment team that has the activities and social energy in-between to keep you laughing and bringing the other guests together. So, you build relationships not just with staff but also with guests, which doesn't always happen. That’s without the entertainment every evening, which are all brilliant. We come early in the season, so the hotel provides an electric heater for the evening and blankets to keep guests warm in the cooler months, which shows how thoughtful the hotel is about its guests.
But if you aren’t someone who likes to socialise but prefers to lie in the sun and enjoy the moment without interaction, somehow this hotel has that covered also, as there are so many places you can sit and get lost in nature. This hotel provides peace and tranquillity. You can tell the hotel looks after the garden with all the flowers, trees, and grass. This is something the hotel cares about, and it’s so well thought out—very picture perfect. It just gives the hotel that little bit of elegance and makes it feel like this hotel is supposed to be here, up in the mountains.
This hotel has an outdated look rather than the usual hotels you see nowadays, but this shows how much character this hotel has, which I feel is what makes it that bit special. Since you are up in the mountains, if it didn't have this character, it would feel like you're forced to be here.
Rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. The cleaners are there every morning, providing fresh towels and waters, and they clean the room. As a woman with long hair who showers every day, I often left hair in the shower drain, but they removed this every morning when they cleaned. This shows how thorough they are when cleaning. They have a nice routine so you know the time they will arrive. We were always out having breakfast when they cleaned the rooms, ready for the day.
They have provided all rooms with brand new mattresses. The first night, for me personally, was very firm. My partner loved it. But I’m not sure if it was the Turkish bath and massage or just after the initial night; I didn’t feel the bed was too firm anymore. I was comfortable, which very much surprised me. The beds have two large pillows and thin duvets, with additional pillows stored in the wardrobe. The only thing I would say is that the little sofa in the room was very flat. I mention this only because I think everything I’ve said so far is amazing, and I need to find something to show this is genuine. But I don’t think anyone would complain, as you're able to sit and relax. That’s the one thing I would change.
Also, I previously stayed in a different room here, and the bathroom I stayed in then was better. This was because it had a walk-in shower with a glass screen. This current bathroom features a very shallow bath with a shower curtain, which I find annoying as it sticks to you. However, the shower was very powerful, and the temperature was perfect. This type of bathroom would suit someone with children or older couples, as the step into the bath is very low, which would work well for them.
I saw many negative reviews about the food last year. I wasn’t here then, so I can’t speak to whether that was true. But I believe the hotel has looked at the reviews and made changes. I couldn’t fault the food. For breakfast, there were many options—from omelettes and pancakes to porridge, cereal, and baked goods, all served with fruit. If you wanted to be healthy, the options were available. The restaurant always provided nice cold water at the table, and the waiters consistently checked and offered more, which I don’t usually experience. It was perfect, especially in the heat. The juice was quite strong, so I would have preferred a slightly milder option.
