We stayed at the Ocean blue for 4 weeks and will say 3 weeks was good and the last week was awful and difficult due to the manager Ali and some of the staff . The hotel itself is lovely , good sized rooms , 3 pools , lovely food and some lovely staff. The location is perfect to stroll out onto the strip with its ample bars , restaurants and shops. The first 3 week were good but not without it's faults and this was due to food and drink being added onto my room(we had read about this before we came) and when I questioned it I was fobbed off by Mehmet telling me it was probably my mistake as we were in a large group! I always paid for my food and drink when I purchased it. Obviously I questioned the items including 4 or 5 pancakes and drinks in one sitting! the answer i got was " probably the young boys in our group" . There was never any young boys in our group as you were all well aware . The Saturday before our final week i had to go back to the hotel to pick something up and I was stopped by Ali the "manager" and told to clear my bill , I said what bill and they printed the same bill I referred to earlier totaling £66 . I said it was not my bill and I was told " PAY IT NOW OR SEE WHAT HAPPENS" I was not happy with being threatened and said so as he did this in front of my daughters . He continued with his aggressive attitude and I was not impressed! I ended up paying as my daughters were upset and we left the hotel. It transpires that Mehmet is Ali s brother and he had told him that I wasn't going to pay the bill hence the aggressive nasty behaviour. The last week was awful as we felt like we were treading on eggshells. We went out everyday and ate and drank so the hotel unfortunately lost out on revenue as our friends and family came with us also. Some of the staff (Alis family) kept watching us and I do think this was due to me speaking to the owners of the hotel. I have never experienced such unacceptable behaviour from a manager ever and this has left us upset. I ve been visiting Turkey for 15 years and we love the people and the country and we will not let 1 individual who has no management or customer skills ruin that!!! Was i the only one to be treated this was!!?? no 2 young girls were charged £75 and were visibly upset and distressed at reception again Ali !!!!! Granted there will be a review or 2 on here sticking up for Ali and Mehmet as there are return customers, I did speak to some and they were not happy with being charged for items not consumed!! We were so looking forward along with our friends to staying at the hotel and can't believe how someone can ruin all that. Just FYI people not staying at the hotel can come in (earliest I witnessed 05.45) and put towels down and use facilities and I know for a fact Mehmet and Ozkan allowed this for tips no doubt!!!! and when I questioned this I was told they had stayed at the hotel before. Any visitors should not be allowed beds before hotel customers and should sign in!!!!!! On a positive note big shouts out to Barish , Ali G (restaurant) Aguero , Eyup aka Yamal , Burak ,Emrah and the girls you guys are amazing and tried to keep our spirits up and we appreciate it and Alpo thanks for listening to my concerns and understanding how awkward it was for us. I know this hasn't happened to many of you but I wanted it to be told as it happened to us FACTS not LIES!!!!! This hotel is an absolute gem 💎 but it has its flaws with...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed at this hotel for a week with my family.
Pros Some staff were lovely and helpful - Barish, Aguero, Yamal, Ali G, Burak) Prices were reasonable and food was nice at the pool bar. Close to the strip, central to everything so good location. Maids cleaned the rooms everyday.
Cons No entertainment Have to put towels down super early or you won’t get a sunbed even though there are 3 pools! Before I arrived my parents had to go to another hotel due to guests putting towels down as early as 2am. Extremely creaky bed in the room. Check your bills and always pay as you go! My dad and other guests unfortunately learnt the hard way and were charged for food/drinks they never had. There were numerous items added to my dad’s bill which he never had. Cocktails which I had ordered were also added to the same bill so when we asked about our bill we were told it had all been sorted and paid. After receiving the invoice my dad tried to speak to numerous staff members regarding the items but they didn’t help so this was to escalated to the manager who pulled my dad one night which ended up in an argument. He was extremely rude. He argued with my dad and threatened him(his exact words) ‘I’ll give you until tomorrow to pay or I know what I’m going to do’. I tried to talk to Ali to explain that my dad hadn’t had certain items. I asked if an invoice could be printed again so I could have a look and so that we could pay for what we’d had. I was told it couldn’t be printed, he wasn’t interested and wanted full payment. My dad ended up paying and we didn’t eat there for the rest of the holiday as it was awkward.
Last of all, I’m addressing this part to Ali the manager, NOT OWNER!!! as your reply to my dad’s review is nothing short of shocking. My dad is not a dangerous man. Neither myself or my sister called him a liar- you have my email I’d be happy for you to send me proof of the audio you apparently have.
As for other guests ‘gossiping’ about my dad, these are clearly your regular guests that return.
If you checked your ‘audio and cctv’ that I asked you to check when we spoke about my dads bill, you will clearly see that the only witnesses were myself, my sister, her friend and the receptionist behind the desk. My dad also didn’t have a choice but to pay his bill because you threatened him. If you were going to refund him 4 days before check out then clearly you knew you were in the wrong for charging him in the first place? My family have been coming to Turkey for 15 years and have never experienced anything like it so it’s clear to me that you’re the problem.
Message for the owners: You have a lovely hotel with great potential, but you need to look at who is running it for you. The current manager is dishonest, lacks basic customer service, and has no...
Read moreAnother holiday completed at Ocean blue hotel in hissaranou with special thanks to Oscan mehmet and Ali. If it wasn’t for these three gentlemen they seem to hold everything together, I’m so sorry to have to put a review like this but it needs to be said ! This was our 4th holiday here as we used to enjoy it so much seeing certain staff and also returning customers that you meet along the way, but maybe the last due to a few staff changes, this hotel used to pride itself on excellent staff but they seem to have moved on with the exception of above, Firstly Ias and his new wife they was exceptionally friendly and do anything for you, he knew his customers when entering the bar area , then there was rifat also the most friendly person, none of these staff was in your face but was there if you needed anything, I feel the changes this year have failed the hotel massively Agero was in your face constantly selling his raffle tickets for tat pieces of jewellery and outdated bags,at a cost of £10 sometimes more then there was bingo on a Sunday again £10 per strip with prizes as follows bottle wine for one line £30 for 2 lines and £220 for full house, well the day I observed there was more than 25 players so when the question was raised where the rest of the money he couldn’t answer ? No one was told. I believe he came from pine valley I think he needs to go back there with his sidekick barash and maybe ocean blue will become high class again and a 4star it deserves. Another let down was towels on sunbed from early hours even being put on at night with people just leaving them all day some was out as early as five am the pool bar staff should adhere to the signs around the pool, also the hotel should have a designated smoking area not around the pool laying on sun beds next to people that don’t smoke and also not in the restaurant whilst eating breakfast or dinner this was disrespectful. I’m sorry for harsh review but...
