The name on the outside of this hotel is "Kumsal Hotel", so if you look for a sign with "Beach" on it you won't find it. ("Kumsal" is Turkish for "beach".) However, the address above is correct, and it's a great little hotel if you can get one of the rooms with views. The ones at the back are not so inviting.||We (two couples) were lucky enough to get the two front rooms on the second floor, which are a reasonable size and have small balconies looking straight out onto the bay - gorgeous.||This is definitely a no-frills establishment, but the location and the delightful, helpful people running it made it one of our special experiences in Turkey, which is why I have rated it "excellent".||We arrived in Foca by car without any accommodation booked, and just walked along the waterfront making enquiries at every hotel. The people who were on duty when we walked into the Kumsal Hotel did not speak any English, but the lovely lady at the front desk soon understood what we wanted and showed us the rooms, which were simple but adequate, as was the breakfast served the next morning. There is a good-sized terrace overlooking the water on the top floor which wasn't open when we were there because it was too cold, but it must be lovely in the warmer months. Any of our other needs (such as ice and glasses for drinks on the balcony) we conveyed using an English/Turkish translation app on an iPhone, which they found hilarious. Apparently there is a son who speaks good English, but he wasn't around during our all-too-brief stay in...
Read moreKumsal hotel is a small&sweet hotel right in front of the ocean. They have different types of rooms, smaller and bigger ones. Some of the balconys face directly to the water, you will have a beautiful view and stunning sunsets. There is a delicious, typical turkish breakfast buffet and the weekend. Mo-Fr we got prepared plates for single persons. Its fresh, tasty and good quality of the food. The smaller rooms easily fits one person, two is okay aswell (most people just stay here for a few days), but you would need to arrange your belongings. The bathroom was okay, small, but clean and that’s important. They have good functioning Wifi there and working TV on the room. The fridge was not working, but we could easily store food&even drinks in their fridge. They changed towels&bedding once in 8 nights, this could maybe be a bit more, but we were okay with it. If you would have asked, they would have helped you out in a sec. The whole team was more than welcoming and friendly (especially the guy at night from the reception was amazing). The women, who cleaned and helped serving food and Imre were really nice and did a fantastic job. All in all, I recommend staying at Kumsal. Its small, but nice and clean. Thanks...
