Hotel Villa Mahal — Hotel in Kaş

Overall, the experience was a memorable one. It is truly amazing to see how one woman's vision came to fruition over the years to make this place a magnificent one. Bravo Ipek Hanim! The location along with the beautiful landscape and scenery are truly breathtaking. We would like to acknowledge some of the staff members who worked hard and were diligent to ensure that our stay is pleasant one: 1) Atakan was the first person whom we met and helped us navigate with our car to the correct location given the incorrect GPS directions. He also was the last person we saw as he helped us with our luggages, 2) Burhan went above and beyond expectations. He not only ensured that our breakfast needs were attended to but he personally checked that our dinner reservations outside the hotel were well coordinated with the boat transfers and ensuring that last minute changes were correctly implemented. He also facilitated with securing massage appointment and providing excellent recommendations for sightseeing activities. 3) Mehmet was wonderful and welcoming with his positive attitude. He took care of our well-crafted cocktails - very important task! However, there are a few things that need to be mentioned which would enhance future experiences:

1. Housekeeping needs to improve - having used towels left on the floor and folding them thinking that we will not detect that they are used is unacceptable. Not being attentive that we are low on shower gel and conditioner and other toiletries demonstrate a lack of attention and carelessness
2. Air conditioner that is not properly functional along with other signs of wear and tear in the room indicate that the rooms would benefit from a refresh. Atakan was helpful in ensuring that the Ac was fixed the next day but we lost one night sleep
3. Dinner quality can be improved in light of the prices. Also, a fixed breakfast menu does not address dietary restrictions; thus, a buffet style with more options would be more beneficial. A 2-hr timeframe for breakfast is not adequate.
4. Continuous hand-rails starting from the entrance of the Villa all the way down to the breakfast lounge should be mandated as it can be a safety risk. Ideally, the breakfast area should be located closer to reception or where majority of the rooms are as the views will be better and the location is more pragmatic (less hassle with stairs that don’t...

This is a lovely hotel perched on a stiff cliff side near Kalkan. We had the pool room while our boys shared a small room. Overall the hotel is really nice, especially the scenery. We found the breakfast and dinners quite exceptional as the chef was quite good.

Our head waiter was so fantastic and attentive that I made it a point to tell the front desk on checkout how amazing he was.

We enjoyed spending quite times along the water and taking sips into the blue ocean when it got a little bit too hot. It was great.

Here are my only negatives:

The internet can get slow and sometimes would just stop working. The property is on a steep cliff. I don’t recommend it for people who have mobility issues. The room was ok as the bed was a bit uncomfortable and the furniture was meh. The AC was good though so I slept well.

Çalışan (Mehmet) terbiyesizliği

Daha önce Kalkan ve Mahal Beach'e gelmiş, tüm çevreme de tavsiye etmiş biri olarak, 2018 Bayram tatilimizin de 3 gününü Mahal'de geçirdik. İlk gün, ertesi gün için rezervasyon yaptırmak istediğimizde "rezervasyon yapmıyoruz" cevabını aldık Mehmet isimli garsondan. Ancak şezlonglarda gelişigüzel bırakılmış havlular duruyordu. 2.sinde "doluyuz aşağıya kadar yorulmayın" dediğinde de öyleydi durum (artık bunun gerçekliğine inanmak da güç). Misafirlerin erkenden gelip havlularını koyduklarını söyledi. Diğer gün gittiğimizde ilave bir şezlonga ihtiyacımız olduğunda Mehmet yok dedi ama bir başka çalışan (Burhan) son derece yardımcı olarak temin etti. Son günümüzde erkenden (08.40 gibi) Mahal'deydik. 3-5 kişi dışında boştu. Uygun gördüğümüz bir yere yerleştik. 40 dk kadar sonra Mehmet garson gelerek o şezlongların dolu olduğunu söyledi. Biz de havlu olmadığını, boş olduğunu söylediğimizde bırakmamışlar mı arkadaşlara soracağım diye devam etti. Yiyecek bir şey sorduk "Sadece 12.00 de yemek" Demleme çayınız var mı? "Bilmiyorum" gibi son derece sinir bozucu diyalogların ardından 10 dk sonra "burası doluymuş" diye geri geldi. 3 gündür rezervasyon yapmıyoruz diyen sendin nasıl dolu olur dediğimizde "arkadaşlarım söz vermiş" boş yerler var oraya yönlendirin dediğimizde "buranın parasını almışlar (!)" gibi uzayan ve gittikçe terbiyesizliğe varan bir gerginliğimiz oldu. Yetkili ile görüşmek istedik. Tek yetkili kendisiymiş! Otel müdürü? Orada değilmiş! Seni ve tüm bu terbiyesizliği tripadvisor dahil her yere yazacağım dediğimde "ben ricaya gelmiştim" gibi zekamıza hakaret eden kıvırmalar sonrasında otelden menemen de, çay da getirtilebilir oldu. Hatta kahve ikram edildi. Ancak; sözüm Mahal yetkililerine, hitap ettiğiniz müşteri profili fiyatlarınız ve tarzınızla bu kadar belirliyken, çalışanlarınızın bunun farkında olması ve kurumsallığa yakışır olarak her müşteriye aynı mesafede olunması gerekmez mi? Bu yapılan ayrımcılık yabancı-Türk; daha fazla bahşiş verir-vermez düşüncesinin hangisi olursa olsun, kirlenen ne yazık ki sizin isminiz, itibarınız. Sizin bilginiz dışında olduğunu düşündüğüm, dahası düşünmek istediğim bu uygulamanın ve hükümdarlığını kurmuş olan hadsiz Mehmet garsonun, yarattığınız muhteşem güzelliğe gölge düşürmesine müsade etmeyeceğinize...
