Check in was great, very welcoming reception. The receptionist told us to eat first before we signed any forms. Our luggage was taken to our room and we were given a slip with opening times of the different restaurants. We had a very late night so our initial day started late but we all enjoyed late breakfast at the Innana restaurant (main buffet). My husband enjoyed using the gym and the mini market happily inflated pool floats/toys. We all loved where we were (on the quiet side, on the first floor). We were overlooking the pool from our balcony so I could keep an eye on my son while I put our baby to sleep during the day. Rooms are spacious, with a mini fridge, safe and small coffee machine. Fridge is refilled daily with water, soft drinks and beer. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels topped up and liquid soap, body wash, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner are in the bathroom. Another nice gesture is the little box in the bathroom filled with cotton wool pads, cotton buds, nail file, head cap, comb and scrub. We did bring our own toiletries but the ones in the bathroom were quite decent. We were also given a complimentary beach bag and slippers. Beach towels can be collected from the spa area, dirty towels can be dropped there too. Olea kitchen was fantastic for lunch and so was Jos bar for sandwiches and waffles. Fely restaurant served the best dessert, it was delicious (see pic). The patisserie was absolutely fantastic, Abdullah made our daily visits so much better, his hospitality and kindness was just amazing, he definitely deserves recognition. He made the effort to speak to us and greet us by our names. Their coffee and cakes are delicious, my husband loves his flat white and cappuccino. I loved Goia da coffee, it's similar to cappuccino but slightly sweet with the honey. The main buffet restaurant has a different theme every night, we enjoyed Mexican on Sunday and Asian on Monday. We found some of their food bland but that's because we're accustomed to spicy food. The main buffet catered for so many taste buds, gluten free, vegetarian, meat, fish and so on. Really spoilt for choice. The baby and children section is another great addition, our little one loved pasta, rice and chips. Desserts are just devine, so so delicious. We definitely over indulged but we couldn't resist! There is a laundry room which is free to use. I'm so glad I took washing pods with us, this was super handy with having children with us. I booked a time slot at reception several times during our 7 night stay. There are two washing machines and two dryers in the laundry room but we had washing out on the airer on our balcony which dried quickly in the sun. I used the sauna and steam room once which is free for all inclusive guests. Daily popcorn station is available at 8.30-9.15pm which was great as we could sit down with drinks and popcorn to watch entertainment. We went to the mini disco a few times, we watched street dance, kids pantomine and African dancing too. Games room was okay, we played pool and a few game machines which take tokens. We purchased tokens from the mini market which were put on our cashless card. Balance is paid at checkout. We spent most of our time at the quiet side, the pool isn't too crowded like the noisy side. We did go over to the other side to use the slides but most of our days were spent at the quiet side as our room was over there. Staff are amazing, the rooms are spacious, the hotel is clean and the food is amazing. Sinan is another member of staff who deserves recognition for his hospitality and kindness, he went above and beyond, he went out of his way to help us every time we approached him, a true gem. He made such an effort with us and our children, we can't thank him enough. The free shuttle bus service takes guests to the beach. I think it runs every 15 minutes and it only takes a few minutes to reach there. An absolutely amazing holiday. We had the best holiday here. Weather wise, it has been gorgeous, 32 degrees most days. It hasn't dropped below 28. 100% recommend.

10/10 – Lifelong memories made at this wonderful hotel! If you are debating whether or not to book Barut Goia – do it, you won’t be disappointed! We’ve just returned from a week’s holiday all-inclusive at the Barut Goia and couldn’t fault it. I did a very extensive amount of research before booking this hotel as I’m very fussy. The amount of all-inclusive hotels in Turkey is quite overwhelming and I found myself a bit paralysed by choice! In the end it was the excellent reviews that clinched the Barut Goia for us as they really do speak for themselves. The room – The room was excellent – even better than the pictures and so much more spacious than most hotels of a similar price-range. The bedroom is in a separate room with sliding doors and the lounge area is lovely – spacious, bright and tastefully decorated. The hotel was refurbished last year so everything is modern and new. I couldn’t believe how much storage there was too. We felt very at home all week and the room was cleaned every day by a lovely cleaner and the fridge re-stocked with beers, water, juice and a couple of fizzy drinks. The beach – the beach is a short shuttle bus away from the hotel. It is easily walkable but you have to cross a relatively busy road and the path is quite dusty so the bus is probably preferable. The beach itself is fantastic – soft sand and very warm shallow water – ideal for our toddler to paddle in without us panicking too much about the waves/depth. There is a beach-bar which serves meals and drinks which are part of the all-inclusive package. The food there was very good. The hotel facilities – This isn’t a massive hotel in comparison to some of the big 5* hotels in the area but it really does have everything you need – a gym, spa, arcades, mini-market, some shops, pool tables, teen lounge with cinema screen, 2 x outdoor play areas, kids club, slides, 2 x toddler pools and two large swimming pools. The staff – Honestly the staff here are amazing. We’re not the sort of family that forms relationships with hotel staff as we prefer to keep ourselves to ourselves but the staff are truly what made this hotel so special. They all seem to enjoy their job and really do go above and beyond to be helpful, friendly and welcoming. Pretty much every member of staff we encountered made a fuss of our little boy and the ladies in the kids club were fantastic. He had the best time of his life thanks to all the lovely team at Barut. The foam party with cocktails and inflatables was so much fun and all the mini discos and activities with the staff dressed up for the kids were great. We went outside school holidays but there was never any issues with sunbeds – sunbeds were available at all times of day and it never felt too busy or crowded round the pool. Food/Drinks – the main buffet was open when we arrived at midnight which was such a pleasant surprise – it opens all night. The buffet selection was excellent, always fresh, clean and I never worried about hygiene. There were some really delicious dishes on offer from the buffet too – particularly the kebab station one night and a delicious beef dish over mash another night. There are two a la carte restaurants so not as many as some of the big hotels. Fela was our favourite and we ate there twice. The toast Skagen was excellent and the steak delicious. There are also some limited snacks available from round the pool during the day, ice cream and a bakery-bar. We were happy with the drinks options. The cocktails round the pool were pretty standard but we did have a couple of excellent cocktails in the sunset bar which were included in the all-inclusive. The sunset bar on the roof is a lovely place to start the evening watching the gorgeous sunset. It was never that busy when we were there which surprised me! Location – Side old town is 15-20 mins walk away and is absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit or two. This hotel is very good value for money - we had a truly excellent and memorable holiday - thank you so much Barut Goia!

We enjoyed a fantastic 10 day stay, in September. With blue skies and temperatures in the mid 30c’s. They upgraded us to a suite for our Honeymoon. Buffet food (this is what we saw that made us decide to stay here) was fresh, tasty and delicious - good variety. Special mention to the breakfast omelette making ladies. Our favourite!!! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Maids fantastic. Staff amazing, kind and helpful. Your get a free bus, 5 min to and from the beach - which is a good private section of sandy beach with a clear beautiful sea. Plenty of free sun beds and shade. We loved the chicken doner kebab lunches there, washed down with a cold beer Pools were big and we loved spending our afternoons there. Bar a few ogling older men…. We would love to return here again. Loved the cats/ giving them scraps. Being cat lovers. Seeing then by the security station each day was lovely. - (they are also fed cat crunchies by the staff) We only had booked the bed and breakfast buffet - in hindsight wish had gone half board and tried all of the theme nights!! As chalked up more expenses on meals. But well worth it. Taxis into Side (note in Side town- they all ask for Euro not Turkish Lira - I suspect due to conversion rates) were 10€ so it wasn’t cheap. There are buses though. It turned out more convenient for us - after an excursion day out, to eat at the hotel in the evenings. As this was a relaxing stay of sea, sun, food. It’s well set up with shops, everything is on a charge card - no cash! So make sure you don’t go mad spending. Good facilities for kids, games room etc. We didn’t check out the evening entertainment - so can’t comment. We did find some of the other guests didn’t understand what ‘good manners’ are and what queuing means - possibly due to their culture. Note it’s a family hotel - so a few screaming little ones from time to time. We did meet some lovely folk to chat to there. Massive thank you. We will definitely consider visiting again in the future. Highly recommended. Note it’s having a revamp and name change for 2024 season.

Extremely Disappointing Stay Despite Positive Beginnings

We recently stayed at this hotel and, while there were some positive aspects, our overall experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a serious case of food poisoning and an unsatisfactory response from hotel management.

Positive Aspects

The property itself is visually impressive, having been recently renovated. The décor is modern, stylish, and well maintained, with beautiful views of the sea. The pool facilities were excellent, with multiple pools and slides that our daughter particularly enjoyed. The grounds were clean and well kept, and it was nice to see the friendly cats around the resort being well cared for.

The restaurant, bar, and housekeeping teams all deserve recognition for their friendliness and professionalism. The Sunset Bar was a particular highlight — both the atmosphere and service there were outstanding.

Areas for Improvement

The entertainment team was adequate but not particularly engaging or interactive. The food and beverage selection was acceptable but somewhat limited in variety and quality.

The overall guest experience was occasionally affected by other visitors — many were quite rude and inconsiderate, often pushing past others and allowing their children to behave disruptively. While this is not directly the hotel’s fault, better crowd management and guest conduct policies could have improved the atmosphere.

There is also a loud call to prayer early each morning (around 6am), which may disturb lighter sleepers, although this is outside the hotel’s control.

Serious Concerns

Unfortunately, both my partner and I contracted severe food poisoning during our stay. I was unwell for three to four days, and my partner continues to suffer even after returning home. This completely ruined the final part of our holiday, leaving our 10-year-old daughter unable to enjoy the facilities as we were too ill to leave our room.

When we sought assistance from hotel management, we were extremely disappointed by the response. The hotel denied any responsibility, offered no practical help, and even removed a message we posted on their Facebook group asking if other guests had anti-sickness medication. We were simply told to see the nurse on site, but the consultation costs were extortionate. We felt abandoned and unsupported at a time when we were genuinely unwell.

My partner has PKU and must maintain a strict vegetarian diet, along with daily prescribed medication. Because of her illness, she was unable to take her medication for several days, which has since caused further complications. I eat a normal diet and we both drink very little alcohol, so we believe the most likely source of illness was either salad, fruit, or food from the à la carte restaurant — particularly as these were the only items we both consumed prior to falling ill.

We also overheard another guest speaking with the Jet2 representative about similar symptoms, suggesting that this was not an isolated incident.

Noise and Environment

The hotel is located next to a busy road, and traffic noise is noticeable at most times of day. In addition, there was significant noise from the evening entertainment that continued late into the night, making it difficult to rest. The rooms themselves are also poorly soundproofed — noise from hallways and neighboring rooms travels easily, which further disrupted our sleep. Overall, it was far from a peaceful environment, even during what should have been a quieter time of year.

It was also much busier than expected for late October, with many families and a very crowded pool area.

Positive Acknowledgement – Jet2 Holidays

Jet2 were excellent throughout. The flights, private transfers, and communication were all well organized. The Jet2 representative at the hotel was particularly helpful, providing guidance on insurance procedures and general advice. Their professionalism was in stark contrast to the lack of support shown by the...
