Stayed here as family of 4 for 10 days in August 2022. As we had a night flight and we were due to arrive at the hotel at approximately 7-8am I had contacted the hotel beforehand and advised them of this and asked for early check-in. They advised me that if a room is available early I can take it. We arrived at the hotel at around 8am and there was no member staff there. There was just a cleaner, who could thankfully speak perfect English, and advised us that the hotel staff don't arrive until after 9am. There was no working AC in the lobby, There was an freestanding AC unit which was switched off and when I switched it on it started to leak. Hotel staff, Fatima, finally arrived after 9am and we pleaded with her to get a room ready for us asap and we eventually got a room at around 11am. The Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby but the router was switched off and Fatima switched it on when she arrived after i asked why the Wi-Fi wasn't working.||||We were on the 4th floor and this block had no elevators however the staff helped with carrying our luggage up. Our room was clean and spacious. There was a lounge room with 2 sofa beds, kitchen and large balcony and a bedroom with 2 beds and smaller balcony. There was also an open front wardrobe and shelving space poorly located next to the kitchen so any cooking food smells would have gone on to the clothes so we used the drawers in the bedroom or left clothes in our suitcases. Beds and sofa beds were comfortable. Extra blankets and pillows were provided when asked for. Remote controlled AC worked perfectly well in both rooms. Although curtains seemed thick and were lined they didn't keep the sunlight out in the mornings and I'm not a heavy sleeper so was woken early every day.||||The unique situation that we had was that my daughter has food allergies so we booked this hotel due to the kitchen as we were cooking her food as she's unable to eat out. We were cooking her chapatti's (a flat type of bread) to eat with her curries however they weren't cooking properly on the electric hob so I asked Mustafa, a member of staff, if we can use their kitchen's gas cooker for 5 minutes during lunch and dinner and he went one step better and provided with a portable gas canister in our rooms that we were allowed to take when needed. This was amazing and made a big difference. ||||Bathroom was clean. Shower gel, handwash and toilet rolls were provided. Room was cleaned every few days however it was cleaned properly and we had to request a room clean on a couple of occasions. There was a massive ant problem in the hotel. We returned to the room on our first day to ant infestation which were coming in from the door and making their way to the kitchen bin. We began emptying the every time we had food waste so sometimes 2 twice a day. Even of you drop a single bit of food item on the floor that was cleaned the ants arrived. They even made their way in the room and up the dining table as there was an opened packet of crisps. There was a lot of ants under and around the fridge and even ended up inside the fridge. We asked the hotel to pull the fridge out and get rid of the ants however this never happened. There was always ants at the poolside and outdoor pathways where food had been dropped or left out.||||The pool area was lacking umbrellas over sunbeds. There was only enough umbrellas to cover maybe half of the sunbeds and the selfish guests would be up early to secure the beds and umbrellas and leave their belongings their all day and disappear for most of the day, The hotel should not allow this. Many of the sunbeds were damaged and sunken in. These should have been replaced a long time ago. The pool itself looks clean at the surface but if you stamp your feet on the ground you see all the dirt floating up. In my 10 days there I didn't see pool cleaned once.||||There is a sister hotel over the road where there have the entertainment at night but most nights it's just a kids mini disco and we had fire breathing show on 1 night. There is an hammam and do provide a ladies only service for modest woman and muslims where they lock the front door during the session and no one else is allowed in aside from the female masseuse.||||The beach is about a 15 min walk away, majority of which is along an dusty and unlit pathway. Not recommended to walk here after sunset or as it's getting dark as there's a lot of bushes and shrubs and it sounds like you can hear rattle snakes. I did once see a snake in the field behind the hotel however the hotel assured me that they use snake repellents to keep the snakes away from the hotel grounds. The beach itself is very gritty and lacks adequate cleaning. The beach bar has cold drinks, ice cream and freshly squeezed watermelon or orange juice. The sunbeds also lack enough umbrellas. There is a free shuttle bus service that runs from the sister hotel to the beach and back at set times. It's a small minibus and during peak times can be full.||||There's a couple of local convenience shops and a fast food place within 5 minutes walk. The nearest supermarket is A-101 at around 10 mins walk. Bim is about 15-20 mins walk. Along this walk to Bim there are several other convenience shops, restaurants. The nearest Turkcell and Vodafone shops are also close to Bim around 20 mins walk away. Fruit and veg is cheap. General groceries are reasonable. You cam meat, household goods, cleaning, toiletries, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, pool/beach toys and inflatables, etc so if you're struggling with luggage space you'll most likely find what you need here. McDonalds is about a 15-20 min walk away. The nearest mosque is about a few minutes taxi ride or a 30-40 min walk.||||We also had the pleasure of meeting Irem herself. The hotel was opened by her parents and named after her when she was a baby. She now manages the hotel. She is very friendly, approachable and my wife and her had a good long chinwag. After about a week the gas canister we were using had ran out and the hotel advised that they are unable to fill or replace it. We mentioned this to Irem and she made a call and the gas canister was refilled/replaced within an hour and the hotel also then allowed us to keep this in our room for the duration of the stay.||||Taxis are very expensive. The minimum you will pay is around 6 EUR for even a 5 min ride. So be prepared to do a lot walking or pay a lot for taxis.||||Fatima and Mustafa were very helpful and friendly and did their best to help with any issues or queries we had. Mustafa speaks perfect English. Fatima is not as fluent but we mostly used google translate to communicate/ Cleaning and housekeeping staff are also very friendly - again google translate to communicate with them came handy here.||||Side is a very quiet area. It's family friendly. Seems relatively safe. Hotel staff are very accommodating and make you feel welcome. The night shift member of staff is also very friendly. Doesn't speak any English also but not an issue with Google translate. ||||Overall a...
Read moreDon’t waste your money and time! |This hotel is the worst I’ve ever been to in Turkey. First of all this hotel is not worth of 3 stars as I explain below: |1- no room cleaning until you complain! |2- terrible food with dangerous objects in it! |3- no safety in the room! |4- depressing music at breakfast, lunch and dinner! As if we were at a non-ending funeral instead of having a holiday! |5- Neither the receptionist nor the personnel or even the manager speak English! |6- Rude and reckless personnel! Especially the receptionist, and the manager (all he does is sit here and there, watch things on his phone, and have tea and coffee).|7- The only good thing is the shuttle that takes you to the beach and the fees for sunbeds and umbrellas is included in the price you pay. ||Rooms are in very bad condition, old, damaged and musty. The bathroom is darkened by mould and pieces of tiles fall off from the walls. ||As can be seen from the photos, the locks of the room doors are super old and very easy to open without a key! What’s worse is there’s no way to lock the door when you want to go to sleep and anyone can easily enter to your room and take your belongings. Therefore, we could never leave our belongings and had to carry them everywhere with us. Not acceptable! ||They mix the leftovers of the previous meals with some vegetables and serve it for lunch and dinner. In 5 days at lunch and dinner, we could eat only rice/pasta and salad. The meat was usually ready-made cheap chicken nuggets or flat meatballs that had no taste, let alone nutritional value! The last night,in the photos, I chewed a metal scrubber in my salad! When I felt the pain and showed it, they didn't even say SORRY! They said ‘Ohh you are unlucky! What to do!’||Our room wasn’t cleaned until we complained! The receptionist casually said ‘Ohh they must’ve forgotten. I see if I can find someone to clean.’ What the hell?! After our reaction, next day, the third day, the room is ‘cleaned’ without changing the sheets or towels! Also, the sheets and towels are badly stained to the extend that we didn’t...
Read moreAfter arriving at 4 am to hotel were reception was supposedly 24hr we were met by a security guard who spoke no English not a major problem but couldn’t tell me wat the procedures were for eating etc . Went back down at 7am to find no available until 9 🙄 we’re I was giving our allocated wrist bands and told food and drink is the other side of road . So I proceeded to cross a very busy road in the hope of a nice breakfast .||Shock and horror as there were cats not only in dinning area but also in kitchen the food looked like it had just come out a garbage truck . I thought wow are people really eating this ??||I thought I’d give it a chance at lunch time . No different the chicken they bought out was lukewarm to cold there was never any chance of me feeding this to my family . Believe it or not but the chef was preparing and cooking whilst smoking cigarettes. Our apartment was ok clean but very dated . The hotel manager was nice did feel sorry for him a bit .i explained the situation wid the food but couldn’t do anything as sister hotel were food was was rented off of them and he knew wat it was like . He offered us free bottled water 😂 side itself is amazing and are the people . We booked this holiday through love holidays and feel very let down by there description on web site . Def won’t be using them again. Cleaner was fantastic. They were even going to charge for air conditioner but I think the look on my face made him change his mind . Irem gardens is a lovely little hotel but go self catering not all inclusive. Side town. Is wonderful and will...
