We stayed at the Vox Maris Resort July 2025.||It’s a great hotel, not 5 star by British standards but don’t be put off by that.||It’s a compact and lively resort with guests of all ages but there is a high proportion in their 20’s. There appeared to be a high proportion of Russian, German and Turkish guests with UK guests in the minority. We were told there were guests from 26 countries. Also, there were a notable number of parents holidaying with their teenage children. ||The pool is small for the number of guests and sunbeds around the pool are crammed in. While a few people wanting a specific spot reserved their sunbeds very early, most happens between 8:00 and 9:00 and on many days you will struggle to find sunbeds after 9am but the staff will help with providing more sunbeds. There was no control over people reserving sunbeds and no action was taken if reserved sunbeds were not used all morning or even longer. We have no knowledge of the beach other than an early morning 10 minute walk to it. ||Drinks are served at the pool bar or by scanning the QR code on your umbrella and ordering from the online menu. If using the latter system drinks normally arrive within a few minutes, often by a server on roller blades. If you choose to go to the bar the staff are very quick and efficient and, even if the queue is long, it only takes a few minutes to be served. None of the bars had top-shelf alcohol but all the drink was very acceptable.||Bottles of water are in two fridges by the pool that are accessible 24hours a day.||On arrival we were given 2 towel cards to exchange in the Spa for pool towels, they say you can change them each day if you wish. In reality you are free to take as many as you like when you like, no one controls the supply.||The entertainment team is brilliant, they work from 10am to 5 pm around the pool and organise or take part or are around during the evening entertainment. |Daytime entertainment includes Aquarobics, Aqua bike, Aqua yoga, Aqua trampoline, Water Polo, Volleyball on a huge, inflated court in the pool (hilarious to watch), Foam Party. Darts, Rifle Shooting, Beach Volleyball (on the beach).|In the evening by the pool there are singers, musicians, Karaoke and bingo (you pay 15Euros for the cards and the prizes are very poor). Later there are shows at the amphitheatre but we didn’t go to any of them.||Virtually the whole resort has the same smooth stone flooring which can be quite slippery when wet.||Apart from some very minor lapses the whole resort is kept spotless. Strangely, the bases of the umbrellas are grubby and never cleaned and neither are the ash trays attached to the umbrellas, though they are emptied several times a day as are the rubbish bins.||We requested a Pool View room in a quiet location, unfortunately the two don’t go together as the entertainment all goes on in the pool area up to about 11pm, however the door to the balcony was very effective at keeping out most of the noise. Land view rooms look onto the street or wasteland.||Our room was on floor 1 (same level as the lobby and reception, pool is level 0). It had a queen bed and a single bed which made it more cramped than it needed to be. The main part was about 13’ x 15’ plus the bathroom and hallway. Clothes storage is poor, very little drawer and shelf space and hanging space does not cater for long dresses. The bathroom is compact but adequate with a good walk in shower. The aircon is set to 23 degrees and cannot be changed – you can only turn it on or off and change the fan speed. The door card must be put in the slot by the door for the aircon and everything electric to work, it is not fooled by a piece of cardboard or a credit card so the room can get quite hot during the day while you are out and it takes a while to cool down with the aircon working. There are plenty of power sockets (the normal European type) but no USBs. The TV has about 10 English speaking channels but they are mostly news channels.||Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all in the Buffet, some travel agents’ deals include one free meal in either the Turkish or Italian a la carte restaurants. ||Being an Islamic country there are no pork products so no Full English breakfasts. There are various Turkish cooked options and while-you-wait omelettes etc. There is a vast selection of cheeses and cooked meats, some fruit, also croissants etc. The one day I tied a cooked breakfast, all the items were nearly cold (possibly because they had been put into the serveries very early).||At lunch there is a good variety of hot and cold food. Some of it is repetitive but all good.||Dinner is similar in style to lunch but the sunbeds outside the restaurant are cleared and extra themed food choices are set up.||Service of drinks in the Buffet is quick. We usually sat at the same table, the servers soon remembered our normal order at each meal. ||The a la carte – we booked the Italian at the Guest Relations desk and were asked to choose our main course from the menu there. The food was mostly good though my chicken was a bit tough and the Tiramisu didn’t look or taste anything like Tirimasu.. We did not realise that, apart from the main course, you get everything on the menu. On arrival at the restaurant your table is already set with three dishes. Little is said and sometimes I would be served first and other times my wife would be served first with food and drink. The strangest thing was when I was still eating my starter with knife and fork in hand and the waiter removed the plate from in front of me and placed it to the side so that he could put the next course down The service reminded me of Fawlty Towers - Brits will understand.||Shopping – there are shops in the hotel selling fake designer name clothes and other goods, as is a local shop 50 yards down the road at cheaper prices. A 10 minute walk to Side will offer a much wider selection of goods also at cheaper prices than in the hotel shops, don’t be afraid to haggle particularly on handbags and other leather goods. A leather handbag that my wife bought was haggled down to less than half the asking price of an identical one in the hotel shop.||On the first morning I went to use the water slide. At the top of the steps I slipped over on the wet surface and cut my leg. The lifeguard saw this and asked if I was ok, I said I was and went down the slide. The lifeguard came down to check on me and was concerned that my leg was bleeding and needed attention. I played it down and went to my sunbed. The lifeguard was still concerned and came and applied first aid and called the on-site nurse (not sure whether she was a nurse, paramedic or doctor) who advised that I should go to hospital and get it stitched. Initially I was not keen on going to hospital but eventually was persuaded that I should. The nurse arranged everything including transport. As it turned out it was clearly the right action to take. It took less than two hours in total from leaving the hotel to returning to the hotel, no waiting in A&E for 5 hours! I was extremely impressed with everyone involved with the incident and the amount of concern shown by all. It cost a total of 660 Euros (which was refunded by my travel insurance). I suggested to management that matting should be put down at the top of the slides which was done, but they omitted the area immediately at the top of the steps where I slipped! As a goodwill gesture they offered us a free late checkout and a meal in an a la carte. We accepted the late checkout but already had a free a la carte meal booked.||As active 75 year olds we enjoyed our stay at the Vox Maris, all the staff were amazing and the food, for a buffet restaurant, was generally very good. Probably not the resort if you just want a quiet time in the sun. We would probably not return, mainly because of the...
Read moreVox Maris Resor||Vox Maris Resort is located about 60 km from the airport, which took us approximately 1.5 hours by bus. In return, the hotel is conveniently close to the ancient part of Side, a mere 20-minute walk, and just as close to the town center.|The hotel itself looks relatively modern yet simple compared to other hotels in the area. It’s a new hotel, opened in May this year, but signs of frequent guest use are already visible (e.g., cigarette burns, a torn skirting board here and there). The rooms are spread across six floors in a building divided into two wings. Its centerpiece is a spacious lobby featuring a 24-hour bar and a café. The bar offers local and imported alcohol, and the bartenders are happy to serve colorful cocktails, even those not on the menu—highly recommended! The café provides good coffee, excellent tea, local sweets, and freshly made sandwiches daily.||Every evening, various activities took place in the lobby, such as bingo, concerts, and karaoke.||On the floor below, you’ll find a large restaurant and rooms with direct pool access (a rather narrow pool, about 1.4 m deep, perfect for a morning swim). There’s also a small souvenir shop, a store with t-shirts and knick-knacks, a photographer, a bag and suitcase shop, a hairdresser, and even an optician.|Restaurant||The restaurant offers a full meal package. The menu is highly diverse, with minimal repetition beyond a few staples. Themed dinners, fresh seafood, fish, delicious lamb, and other Turkish and international delicacies, including beautifully presented and tasty desserts, were highlights. Every day, the desserts changed, and those that weren’t eaten were moved to the café, where they quickly disappeared.||We stayed in a room with one double and one single bed. The room overlooked the pool, but despite the daily entertainment there, the noise was inaudible once the window was closed. The room was cozy, bright, and spacious, with a small balcony equipped with chairs and a table. The minibar was restocked daily (soft drinks, water, and beer). There was also a TV with a few Polish channels.||Rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh linens and towels unless we signaled otherwise using a special switch. A nice touch from the cleaning staff was the towel art that greeted us. The wardrobe also contained a free safe.||The bathroom had a large, open shower, a sink with a spacious countertop, a hairdryer, and standard toiletries.|Hotel Grounds||The hotel area is well-maintained, not overly large but lush with greenery, making it pleasant to the eye. There is a central pool 1.4 m deep, three slides with a smaller pool, and a children’s paddling pool with a mini slide. The pool area had enough loungers, and we never encountered the dreaded “lounger reservation” problem. There’s a poolside bar open from 10 AM to 10 PM (or 3 AM), and on the opposite side of the pool is the Food Stop, where ice cream, waffles, and fast food were served until 5 PM. Above the Food Stop was a stage and a small playground for kids.||Below the restaurant, there’s a spa with a wide range of treatments and massages, a heated indoor pool, a game room, and a nightclub.|Beach||The hotel has its own sandy beach with a gentle entry into the sea. It’s located less than a kilometer from the hotel, easily reachable on foot or by shuttle bus running every 15 minutes. We only took the bus once, just for the experience. Since the hotel is near a busy dual carriageway, you need to cross it and walk down a rocky path to get to the beach.||At the beach, there’s a bar offering drinks, coffee, snacks, ice cream, and slushies. There were plenty of loungers and umbrellas. A lifeguard was present from 10 AM to 7 PM. An animator organized games and activities on the beach as well.|Service||The hotel staff were polite, always helpful, and cheerful. They were happy to engage in small talk but weren’t pushy about it.||As a farewell gesture, the hotel gave us a fruit basket and wine, which was a lovely touch.|Overall Impression||Our overall experience with the hotel was very positive, and we can wholeheartedly...
Read more7 day stay, the hotel itself is clean and well presented as you would expect as this is only the second season it has been open. Lobby staff, always happy to help, and there are a few staff behind the lobby bar and the bakery that where always friendly and nothing was any trouble. The staff at the pool bar seemed lovely and we did have one bar man who was so lovely and tbh he really is a credit to the hotel, unfortunately I'm terrible with names but he worked the evening shift, he knew our drinks and made sure we never had an empty glass. The entertainment team, where a complete let down, only one member said hello to us her name rose, thank you for chatting to us and making an effort the rest completely unapproachable unless you where here to party or young and pretty, which brings me to my next point of there incredibly annoying Club song, why does an adults only hotel need one? Be prepared if you are English to be mostly ignored or not spoken to by the animation team. The entertainment during the day by the pool often left you frustrated you could not hear conversations as the music was so loud and the activities somewhat of an ibiza weekender, foam parties and beach volley ball tournaments.|The Food at the buffet is basic and the same daily and often cold, they had one night turkish night that was great, shame they do not add some of those dishes to the rest of the week considering this is turkey! The food at the food stop saved the day the food was better here and plenty to choose from. Drinks where okay your standard, however be careful as they rarely measure the amount of alcohol and they are more like quads rather than single or double servings. The war of diet pepsi and regualr pepsi, they are not the same! My partner is a diabetic and would often ask for diet and get regular and wonder why he is feeling so poorly. The sunbeds, they don't allow reservation of sunbeds, this made me happy to read however, the term "there is enough for everyone" isn't true and they are gone by 9.30 the latest most days so brace yourself to be waking up at the crack of dawn each morning,be prepared also to witness through out the day sunbeds that are reserved with no one on them. The rooms where clean, modern and tidy, you receive a free mini bar which was a nice touch and topped up daily free of charge. Evening shows where good and a great way to end the day, normally alot of singing, however would have been lovely to have seen something cultural especially as turkey has such an amazing culture. The location is great, be prepared for 30 to 40 min walk to the old town but worth it lots to see on the way, or you can just get a taxi for 10 euro takes about 5 minutes. All and all. If your looking for a vibe holiday with a good location, this is for you. Those who are looking for a quite getaway and good...
