Hotel Roma Beach resort,
My personal feedback and opinion, an all-inclusive booked Trip, which included Private Transfers to and from the Hotel from Antalya Airport. Despite being delayed at Gatwick by 90 minutes we, found our Operator at the Airport ( outside) , jumped into our "Taxi". other than the driver Texting and Whatsapping his girlfriend whilst pelting it down the motorway, we arrived and were dropped off at Reception at about 2300. First problem, we were English, and they spoke Turkish or German. After a frustrating 10 minutes of the same request for us to produce our hotel Voucher over and over, it seemed that a Passport as ID did the trick! Off to our room! Ok lets be fair, 5 star it isnt! But a good size (Queen) bed, a TV that we never used, and a decent enough bathroom with walk in shower. We booked a Sea view, and I guess by a fairly loose definition, that's what we got, and a small balcony with table and chairs. A very light blanket as a cover on the bed, which in 30 degree heat may be welcome, but resulted in the eternal battle of Man & Wife pulling it from one to the other as it was barely wider than the bed. Air Con, was adequate, even if a little noisy.
The hotel itself, A nice pool, a couple of little waterslides, Games room, Bars, Lounges, Gym and a Pool Bar. A fairly small toddlers area. When we went at the end of September it was a less busy period. Predominately German Guests ( we came across 2 other English Couples ) but the positive side was, we couldnt understand if anyone was whining or moaning :). Most Hotel Staff could only speak German, but Sign Language solved most issues!
The staff ( except for our evening arrival) were generally helpful, Cleaning staff did a good job in terms of our room and continuously around the pool, and entire hotel. Excellent. Bar Staff will make you the local drinks with a smile and a quick chat, seeming willing to learn more English.
Having seen other reviews before I went, I expected boring, flavourless food. How wrong that was! All inclusive, buffet style didnt mean poor. I cant describe the size of the dining area as it was huge, but have some great pictures. Breakfast, A HUGE array of Fruit, Cereals, Hot items, Breads, preserves and the option for a hand made omelette. An omelette a day worked for me! Breakfast was the time of day that Turkish Delight was served in a variety of colours. Lunch, again a HUGE array of salads,( with the most peppery Rocket I have ever tasted), Breads, Olives, Cold meats and cheeses, cold dishes and starters, 20 or 30 Hot dishes, Veg and Fruit. An array of desserts for Lunch or Evening nearly always included Baklava ( Yum! ) and various cakes with different flavour toppings. The evening meal as above but yet more dishes to choose from and an outside grill. If It doesn't sound great, it WAS. Now this isnt a critiscism, Each day they carefully and cleverley use some of the Salads or vegetables to produce starters from previous day, Good imagination. Ok so if you did 14 days there it might get a bit Deja Vu, food wise but you wont starve! Snacks in Mid afternoon, often some yummy doughnuts, and free Ice cream for an hour..... I can go on and on. If you spend the day at the beach, the Beach Bar, serves food although more limited range, and I highly recommend the Ice Coffee from the beach bar at £2!
Entertainment - Yeah well, er it was German Themed, ok so not themed, entirely German so other nationalities might struggle to join in especially the Kids stuff.
Hammam - ( Turkish Bath / Massage ). Again I saw a review that sounded like it was positively dangerous to your health. NOPE! I had a Full experience day one followed by an Hour massage 3 times over the week. This is a paid feature. Is it worth it??? OH GOD YES! You will be relentlessly pursued by staff to book at least one, ( they do take NO for an answer). If you come across him, ask for Osman and tell him Russell (Crowe) sent you. Barter on the price, its not only expected but a good challenge! Deniz was my masseuse, and she...
Read moreWe went to the Roma Beach Hotel in Turkey. Our flights were good, we booked seats with extra leg room. We were delayed which meant that we did not arrive to the hotel until 3am. We were surprised that in a 5* hotel we had to pay for WiFi. We had paid extra for a room with sea view and balcony. Our room initially did not have this, but they moved us the next day. The room is ok, a bit dated, the bathroom was very basic but despite the shower being small, it had good water pressure, reliable temperature etc and did not leak. There was no full length mirror in the room, which again, we would expect. The pool and beach were lovely - it’s a very attractive hotel. We were in a minority as the hotel mainly had German guests, which was fine, but it was heavily German in the sense the staff understood more German than English etc. The food was average-good. The wine and cocktails included in the all inclusive were not great, but ok. We felt we were asked a lot to upgrade to pay for ‘special bottles’ and a table by the pool. We also kept being asked to go to beach parties - A LOT, with an extra fee. The staff could be quite rude and aggressive - the man who dealt with the towels was really rude and told us off for changing our towels in the morning instead of before 6pm in the evening, but this was never explained to us. We had to check out at 12 noon, but our coach transfer was not picking us up until 10pm, so we had a day by the pool. We could have paid to keep our room, but this was quite expensive. We were assured that we would have somewhere to shower before we left. When we asked where to go, we were told there was no shower as the Turkish Bath was closed. We were really annoyed by this as we hadn’t been told and we had to resort to a strip wash in the privacy of a disabled toilet in the hotel. To travel, after a day in 39 degree heat, this was not acceptable. I have no problem recommending TUI as a company, as we have booked many holidays with them and continue to do so, but we would never choose to go back to this hotel again. Luckily, we had wonderful weather and the beach was fabulous - just the rest left a lot...

I booked this resort for our honeymoon with my husband but it really felt like we were in the wrong place. There were literally no young guests and felt like a visit to a retirement home. If you are young and want to have fun , don’t book this place (book it for your grandparents).
There was not fun activities at all. They brought one lady to sing on Friday night that my cat could sing better than her. She was just mumbling gibberish words through the whole night. Gave us a headache. (Who even thought she was a good singer ????)
We also booked all inclusive deal which was not what we got. They made us pay for Wi-fi (2 euro a day) and it was not even fast. They also make you pay for everything else including your cocktails and orange juice during breakfast.
Food was disappointing , they could not capture any of the good Turkish food culture . They are catered mostly for Germans . They used leftovers from days before and served us.
They did not even have parking and made us park at the back of the resort which we had to pass by sketchy and smelly places to get into. They do not bring your car to you .
Rooms are extremely small and smelly. Air conditioner was not working when we first got there and there is no iron in the room. They use the cheapest shampoo and conditioner that made our hairs fall out literally . When we first walked into the room , there was a big black bug on top of the bed.
Turkish hammam (spa room) literally smells like mold and sweat. We could not even walk there .
Beaches and pool were also a huge disappointment and not sanitary at all.
I absolutely do not recommend you to book this place . Waste of your money . We left day earlier because we just could not stay there anymore . Huge...
