I do not know where to start..please just listen and avoid this hotel. We arrived on the evening to owner stating we had only booked 2 rooms we were a family of 10. 2 children one was a baby. we had been up early and travelled most of the day. Owner was unwilling to help us became very aggressive. Would not listen to any of us even when contacted from on the beach he refused to except vouchers stating we had 3 rooms booked. Children were extremely tied and hot. we were offered a room in another hotel which I later found out from families who owner had also done the same thing to . we ended up spending our first night all sharing rooms. no drinks food or air con was given. sofa bed was unsafe. he also uses a English guy to do his dirty work for him and keep the English sweet. Steve seems great at first but you soon become aware that he's there to keep most of the English sweet. there was no cot for the baby owner wanted us to sleep her in a normal bed when refused he had to lend one from his friend. We ended up spending our first night in awful conditions treated like dirt. the only highlight of this holiday were the cleaners who we made amazing friends with they deserve so much. very lazy owners sit there all day watching their son doing everything big credit to him he was amazing. Poor guy deserves a medal whilst his mother and father sit there waited on hand and foot and he does all their work...food was appalling drinks didnt even taste like their was any alcohol in..we then found out he had also done this to other families who has arrived in which he wanted one family with an 8 year old child to sleep on sunbeds outside. Honestly not only would i not go back to this hotel it has put me off going back to turkey..NAZ and family keep up the good work you are a credit to this hotel and to his son let your lazy parents do some work.. please also be aware the mother sits at the end of the bar who has her own price list and adds money on... please also take no notice of what is advertised pictures are false and this hotel offers nothing that is advertised. Read moreI'm not one to ever complain as I take rough with the smooth but this was an absolute joke. Arrived at High life apartments at approximately 6am after a long journey to be greeted by the owner. After taking a few details we were told by a member of staff to follow him. Thinking our room was around the back of the apartment block ( as we left High life apartments) we were taken down the road to different apartments with no name. Reaching out apartment first sight was a wobbly door knob that had silicone around it but the worst was to come ( pictures are what I had taken in apartment). The place stunk of drains and foist,the kitchen bench was broken in two, the bed you wouldn't let your pet sleep on and OMG the bathroom ( pictures speak for themselves). We went to see owner and said we didn't book here we booked High life apartments,only to be told he was very busy and maybe an apartment might be available in a few days. This is not what I booked . So we thought ok even tho my wife was crying and devastated we thought ok we will get moved. After trying every day asking to be moved where booked we finally got moved 5 days after to the apartments we originally booked. Which to be fair are lovely. My question is why overbook your apartments and put guests in a hell hole. Tour operators need to speak to this owner and tell him . Yes the owner is a lovely man and will do lots of other things for you but not put you in the apartments you book. Also it was a 10 day holiday and I can honestly say I never had my any maid service the entire time. The only time we saw her was when she was eating next to bar. We had to constantly ask for toilet paper and clean towels. If you are looking at staying here I would seriously look at paying a few pounds more for better apartments. (My opinion). Wish I had. The room was dirty, badly maintained and lacking basic accessories (toilet paper, shower curtain) or just having the minimum of each (1 towel per person, 1 fork etc)
Location was good and the balcony had a nice view
The staff were borderline rude, not once did we hear a good-morning or a how are you, just nods without speech (!). Reception was absent or on the telephone in the office. The 1stnight, due to the fact that there was no TP, when the room service came up (will get back to that later) and my gf asked for TP he answered “later because I am very busy” (!?!)
We got charged 100TL for a take-out order, which appeared suspiciously big, so after investigation, apparently, we got charged 35 TL surcharge for a 65 TL dinner ( the room service was advertised free!). When we confronted management, the response to my “you cannot add a surcharge before checking with the client” was met with a witty “you never asked what will be charged” and followed with the excuse “if you had eaten here, you would have paid the same amount” and the magnificent “I am a business, need to make money, I cannot just no place a surcharge to the food of another restaurant”. Anyway, I just commented that their service is the worse I have ever seen(and I have travelled to many places) and gave them the 100 TL. My gf was furious about this, but I reassured her that they would lose a lot more by this review alone.
Summary: Bad customer service, bad attitude, overpriced and dirty.
Recommendation: If you can, avoid staying in Marmaris; it is a very beautiful place but most businesses have this sort of thieving attitude for tourists and try to scam away with petty excuses and overpriced services; it’s not big money but you just feel a sucker.
