I feel there are both pros and cons to this hotel. I will list them for anyone thinking of staying here and these are my honest opinions. Pros - - location is perfect, I’ve attached a picture of our hotel room view overlooking the sea. Everything is on your doorstep and there is a great strip of shops and bars within 10 minutes. As well as being directly opposite the beach, the canal is a 10 minute walk. - rooms are basic, but are cleaned everyday by a friendly team of women. It suited us for our stay. Including a fridge, safe and air con. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. - staff were always friendly and spoke decent English, had a bit of trouble with the WiFi but easily sorted. Cons - food, we didn’t enjoy a lot of the food at this hotel. We went all inclusive but only had a few meals here, the salad bar was nice. It may be personal taste as I haven’t been to Turkey before but the food wasn’t for me. There’s about 3/4 hot meal options, plenty of salads and dessert options. The good part of the food however is that they have an outdoor grill which was very nice. - rooms, the aircon wasn’t the best, don’t get me wrong it worked, but it wasn’t very strong. - staff, the staff were friendly, but some of the bar staff were a bit too ‘friendly’. Be careful if you’re going in a small group of girls as they may be flirty and intimidating. - pool, the pool is right next to the dining area and is quite small, you couldn’t do much swimming, more so for cooling off, but don’t think about getting a sunbed. This hotel has about 8 sunbeds next to the pool. I suppose a good thing about being next to the beach is that you get a beach chair on the beach. However the chairs were very cramped together and always had towels on them so were reserved for people who weren’t using them. Sales rep, we were told on arrival by reception that our ‘travel guide’ will be with us shortly, confused to this we went to our rooms, when I came down for the WiFi password a man greeted me and asked me to join him in a conversation regarding excursions. I got my friend and we sat with the rep (who we didn’t know). And he tried to sell us excursions. Just be wary of how much you pay for these trips, we didn’t book anything as he made out we had to book it there and then as we may not see him again (a lie as we saw him multiple times in our hotel). So be careful. Personally overall, it’s not a bad hotel, but I don’t think I would stay here again. Like any hotel it has good points and bad points. Friendly staff, good location, however food and pool area let it down a bit. But I would thank the staff for helping us when we needed it :)

A Truly Unforgettable All-Inclusive Experience – For All the Wrong Reasons If you’re looking to redefine your standards for disappointment, this is the place for you. My recent stay at the MarBas was nothing short of legendary – and not in the way you’d hope. Let’s start with the room. Ah yes, the decor was a bold tribute to the late 80s – peeling walls, boring funny colour curtains clinging to life, and furniture that probably witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. The mattress had a personality of its own – mostly grumpy and uneven. And the air conditioner? It wheezed like an asthmatic hamster before giving up entirely on day two. The all-inclusive food selection was, shall we say, creatively limited. If you’re a fan of overcooked rice and all sort of Stews chicken or turkey , and something vaguely resembling soup, you’re in for a treat! Breakfast consisted of hard bread, mystery veg and meat selections , and “juice” that tasted like it had a vague memory of once being near a fruit. Don’t worry though – the same options were generously recycled for lunch and dinner, just served colder or chopped in a salad sauce. Craving a dip in the pool? Well, you’d better be quick – the entire thing is roughly the size of a large bathtub. If more than five people are in there, prepare for unintentional physical intimacy. And don’t forget to bring your own towel or tent one for £10 and dignity. 10 sunbeds with no umbrellas. Jazz or pop music and the feeling of “it could be better “ The facilities were, quite literally, the basics. No ping pong table no paddles, no “gym” and Wi-Fi that functions best as a philosophical concept rather than an actual service. Only one great thing about the property it is tight on the beach that once was sandy many sunbeds friendly staff on the edge of annoying Communication was also a charming puzzle. The staff, while polite, spoke about as much English as I speak Martian. Asking for anything resulted in a 20-minute game of charades. In conclusion, if you’re in search of a place that will lower your expectations for future vacations, look no further. This hotel is perfect for travelers who love a little mystery, a touch of nostalgia, and the thrill of culinary roulette. Would I return? Only if I lost a very cruel bet. I was obviously blind when I booked it because I can’t describe why in earth I would do it.

Вывод следующий: отдых удался на 110%, отелем полностью довольна, привезли пару лишних кг :) Thank you for our vacation, it was really good! ♥️

The Mar Bas Select Beach offered a Tranquil Early Season Escape with Delicious Food and Outstanding Service (stayed 17-20 April 2025).

Location: The location of Mar Bas Select Beach in Icmeler remains a significant advantage, offering direct access to the beautiful beach and a pleasant short walk to the town center. The serene views of the bay and surrounding mountains in early April created a truly relaxing backdrop. Being situated slightly away from the main hub of Marmaris (approximately 8 km) contributed to the peaceful ambiance.

Rooms: My standard room provided a functional and clean space, equipped with necessary amenities such as air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and TV. The balcony was a lovely spot to enjoy the quiet mornings and evenings. While the décor might be a bit dated, the room served as a comfortable base for my early April getaway. Free Wi-Fi was available throughout the hotel and beach area, which was convenient for staying connected.

Facilities: The direct beach access was a major highlight, with the hotel providing comfortable sun loungers and parasols. The main restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and the pool bar was also open and accessible.

Food & Drink: The all-inclusive dining experience in early April was a definite highlight. The breakfast offered a good variety to start the day, and both lunch and dinner exceeded expectations with a delicious selection of Turkish and international dishes. The fresh salad bar and tempting desserts were particularly enjoyable. The local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages included in the package were perfectly satisfactory.

Service: The staff at Mar Bas Select Beach were exceptional. From the moment of arrival to departure, they were consistently friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Whether it was at the reception, in the restaurant, or interacting with housekeeping, their positive and proactive attitude truly enhanced the entire stay.

Atmosphere: Early April offered a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing atmosphere at the hotel. The quieter setting, combined with the "Adults Only 14+" policy, created an ideal environment for a tranquil break before the busier summer months.

Value for Money: My early April stay represented excellent value for money. The combination of the prime beachfront location, the surprisingly delicious food, and the outstanding service made it an incredibly worthwhile and enjoyable trip. Specific Highlights/Lowlights: Highlights: The direct beach access, the peaceful early-season atmosphere, the surprisingly excellent food, and the exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful staff were the standout aspects of my stay.

Overall: My stay at Mar Bas Select Beach in early April 2025 was a truly delightful and relaxing experience. The hotel's prime beachfront location, the surprisingly delicious food, and the outstandingly friendly and helpful staff made for a memorable holiday. If you're seeking a quiet, adults-only beach getaway with great food and exceptional service in the early season, I wholeheartedly recommend Mar Bas...

Lovely location but management very poor I’m going to give an honest review about this hotel. Starting with positives. 1st of all the location of the hotel is perfect with stunning views and has its own stretch of private beach. Shower the service on the beach is non existent. There was a young woman working at the hotel with short hair when we first arrived and she was giving drinks service on the beach but then she disappeared? Shame because she was the best waitress in the hotel. Another positive was the food. Compliments to the chef very tasty and good selection. Great breakfast and always lots of choice for lunch and dinner. There was also burgers fries onion rings and sometimes fried boneless chicken. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here. The house keeping in the hotel was the worst i have experienced in any where. I have lost count of how many times I have been to Turkey İcmeler being my favourite resort. They basically just came in and made the bed. We were left without toilet rolls. Hand towels floor mat. Didn’t clean the sink toilet or floors. Balcony was never cleaned. Mirrors not cleaned. I honestly don’t know what she was being paid for. I went to reception and reported the issues and he handed me a toilet roll when I was dressed and ready to go into dinner so asked him to report to the housekeeper and have them put some into the room. The air conditioning was off when I returned to the hotel in the early hours. It was unbearable in the room because so hot upon calling reception to report this he said call back tomorrow. I told him I had asthma and he told me to open the balcony door. I protested and told him I needed air con and he came up to the room and a switch had tripped in the electrical box which sorted the problem. The day I left I requested to keep the room for late check out because my pick up was 19:10. They said I could have the room until 3pm. They don’t offer a courtesy room in the hotel to shower and change. They told me to ask in the liberty restaurant next door which was unbelievable. I ended up having to change in the toilet. I have never stayed in any hotel anywhere in the world that does not have a courtesy room for guests. I really feel that if this hotel was under the right management it would be a perfect hotel. The staff are not managed properly so this is what lets the hotel down. The housekeeping staff should be managed and rooms should be checked to make sure they are of good hygiene. With the right management this hotel would get 5 star reviews. Poor management = poor staff. I won’t return to this hotel because of it’s bad management. Which is a shame because I really loved...
