This place is an all inclusive hotel and 3 stars at best. All inclusive hotels, in my opinion, should have their own classifications of stars. The one hallmark of all Turkish all inclusive hotels: they are trying to save every dollar (lira) no matter what. The best way to do so but make it look like they are not cutting costs are: to control public spaces, decorate very well, offer lots of self service foods (buffets), hire less people, give employees less options, turn off air conditioners to save electricity costs, and market well. Let’s break this down a bit. The hotel itself: - Beautiful architecture, grounds, pools, beach, and lobby. However, the air conditioner (AC) is NOT turned on and it’s summer. Looks great in photos, but employees smell terrible because they are sweating all day long. The bar is inside the lobby, the bar has refrigerators which blow out hot air into the lobby. People don’t want to sit at the bar because it’s too warm. This helps the hotel save more money. - Bars: two bars: one outside close to, but not by the pool, one in the lobby. They display fancy bottles but serve none of them in their cocktails. None of the drinks are calibrated between the bartenders. Meaning, you are not sure what you are going to get. Every drink gets a lemon… even margaritas which include orange juice. This is done because limes (I assume) are more expensive than lemons and oranges. So, they mix a bit of both to make it taste a bit like limes. Mojitos are made with lemons, not limes. The bars have no, bitters, no cherries, no pineapple, the only condiments are LEMMONS! Let me make something very clear, the bartenders are kind, helpful and are trying their best, they are just not given the proper tools to do their jobs. Rooms: they are two levels (2 steps) in the rooms. So if you have a wheel chair, good luck. The ACs in the room are too weak to cool the room. They only cool the lower portion but the bed is in the top portion. Science tells us that hot air goes up, cold air goes down. The curtains do not block out the light (see photos). Bathroom shower doors have been removed, so a lot of water escapes into the bathroom floor. We have to place towels on the floor to keep from slipping. So, we spend a lot of time stepping on wet towels. Food: mediocre cafeteria food at best. Not enough service staff and they are overworked. Staff: very nice, but you can tell that many of them have quietly quit. Meaning, they are not really happy to be there. They are trying hard to look like they are happy though. They are kind and helpful when you ask for anything. Some of them do not speak Turkish, or English. Communicating with some can be challenging. The issue is not the location, it’s definitely NOT the staff. It’s the cheap selections management makes to save money but try to hide it from the world. In business, the part that is lacking is the last 10%. The percent that makes the real difference. Quite disappointing to me personally. Notice how none of my grievances can be seen in photos? Classic Turkish all inclusive hotels. 5 stars recommendations to the management/owner: - turn the AC on in the lobby. Yes, pay the money. - get better bar ingredients and serve them (limes, cherries, pineapple, blender, more ice) - use top shelf alcohol. - fix the shower doors and make sure the bathrooms have better towels. - have more bar servers by the pool. The one guy doing it has to work so hard that he uses roller blades. - fix the ACs in the rooms to blow stronger and in the direction of the bed. - the patisserie has a Italian coffees center but no one is working there to make espressos and lattes… or serving the desserts. Put someone there who know what they are doing. - the bathrooms in the lobby and by the pool smell. Air fresheners don’t work well because it’s HOT in there. They need ACs to remove the humidity from the air and will make it smell better. - get more bartenders and get rid of the cheap alternatives to the good stuff. 5 star hotels have a feeling of abundance. This place does not.

Stay 25th October 2024 10 nights. On the whole a lovely holiday but not without its issues. The holiday became a tale of two halves both in terms of the hotel facilities and later the food and drink. Positives first: We were met upon arrival and accompanied to our room. In the room is a small fridge well stocked with water and also a free room safe. The public areas are fabulous and there are numerous pools to choose from with a more than ample number of sun beds, no need to reserve sun beds here. There is a small indoor pool and gym, the gym could open earlier (09:00hrs) but no big deal. In addition you have a private section of the beach available to you again with numerous beds. Food is mainly Turkish cuisine and on the whole very good with a wide range of choices and was available in different locations pretty much all day long. Fully recommend the pool snack bar food if you don’t want to eat in the main restaurant for lunch. Drinks again great choice with mainly named spirits and a good choice of soft drinks with bottles of water freely available throughout the hotel. There is also a choice of bars to obtain your drinks from. We were lucky enough to be here for the Republic celebrations and were made to feel extremely welcome and were impressed by the efforts the hotel made to celebrate 101 years of liberation. The vast majority of the staff are very friendly and helpful and again whilst a very Turkish hotel with lots of Turkish guests the majority of the staff spoke excellent English. Negatives: The hotel is 50 years old and the rooms are dark with dark wood fixtures and fittings and very tired to boot. The accommodation areas are poor, the carpets on the corridors are awful and should be replaced immediately, the cctv camera is hanging off the wall and a number of lights not working. Our 10 night holiday took us past the Autumn half term break and from that moment everything went downhill fast. The plate heaters were turned off, the food choices became more and more limited and not replenished so if you didn’t eat early your food would most likely be on the cooler side. Similarly as some of the drinks ran out they were not replaced and again choice diminished. Understandable you may say, but this hotel doesn’t close out of season so I pity the new arrivals who wouldn’t get the better experience that we did. Would I stay again? Yes if still in the holiday season, but only if a different room choice was available.

We arrived at the hotel only to find the room in a truly unacceptable condition. The mirrors looked as though someone had spit on them and no one had bothered to clean them. There was a long black hair stuck to the shower wall, the floors were obviously dirty with stains, and the AC wasn’t working. After reporting this to reception, we had to wait more than three hours for someone to come and clean. When service finally arrived, the AC was fixed, but the cleaner only wiped one mirror. The other mirror, the hair, and the dirty floors were left untouched. The photo with the tissue below shows how the area around the sink looked after I wiped it after their so-called “additional cleaning.” This was, without exaggeration, the worst cleaning service I have ever experienced at any hotel—especially one claiming to be 5 stars, when I’ve had much better experiences at 3-star properties. On top of that, housekeeping forgot to bring us large shower towels on one of the days. Another morning at 9:30, the cleaning staff were banging their carts into the walls and speaking loudly to each other in the hallway, waking us up. At first, we thought it was children running around and knocking on doors, but later realized it was the staff. We even had to scold them for their inconsiderate behavior. Reception staff seemed largely unbothered by my complaints, and I doubt anything will change regarding their cleaning and hygiene standards. To make matters worse, we saw a huge dead cockroach in the dining area during one of the lunches. Later, when we sat outside at the bar near reception after 1 a.m., once the bartenders had finished work and dimmed the lights, at least five cockroaches were crawling around us. This hotel clearly has a serious sanitation issue and should be closed for extermination. That said, we did still manage to enjoy some aspects of our stay. The beach, pools, and food were very good. There was a wide assortment of dishes, with lovely selections of meats, vegetables, and desserts. The views were beautiful, the sea was very clean, and the Wi-Fi worked exceptionally well—I was even able to work from my laptop while sitting on the beach.

We visited the hotel the end of September until the 10th October and was here for two weeks. When we arrived, we got shown to our room which we paid for a side sea view and the view from our room was stunning. We had the view of the pool, mountain and sea. The room itself was really big, the bed was massive. The only thing was that the room was a little dark and dated. The A/C wasn’t strong enough for the size of the room. The A/C was down the other end near the balcony doors so you didn’t feel it when you are in bed so a couple of times, I woke up very hot. |The cleaners were good and cleaned daily. The only thing was that sometimes there was plates and glasses etc just sitting in the corridor and would be left there sometimes for a day or two. ||There are three outdoor pools and one indoor pool. The pools were freezing cold so we couldn’t stay in there long. It was nice if you were hot and you just jumped in to refresh and then get back out again to dry off. Even the indoor pool was very cold. The pools were all very clean. ||The entertainment was amazing. Every night for the first week we had different shows which varied from bands, singers, Columbian dancers, acrobatics and Turkish dancers. We also had bingo a few nights. The entertainers Alex, Uygar and bettie were amazing! They were very engaging, and they genuinely seemed to care that we were having a good time. Uygar was always smiling and dancing and they always made an effort to get everyone involved. On the second week we had a lot of rain so the entertainment would be in the ‘blue room’ which wasn’t as good but it was because the entertainment was normally held on the roof top bar. |The day activities were fun. We got involved with water polo and Alex and Uygar also got involved with this game. They also held tournaments such as darts and bowls. We hit up a good friendship with the entertainers and Alex and Uygar actually helped my partner with the planning of our marriage proposal and organised music etc. ||The food was a let down which is why I have had to go down a star. The food was repetitive and bland. I am a fussy eater and the first week I lived off chicken nights, pizza and chips. The food was lukewarm walk and they didn’t do an English breakfast and most of the guests were English. There were lots of fish options which is fine if you like fish but there wasn’t a lot of options. The staff in the restaurant rarely asked if you wanted a drink and you would normally have to get your own. The snack bar was better which we ate at most of time during the day. The second week, we ate out a lot and they did an amazing English breakfast at ‘Florida restaurant’ which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and Billy was amazing. The good thing was that all inclusive meant that it was all inclusive. All the drinks including all cocktails were all inclusive. I have been to hotels where you have to pay extra for some cocktails. The cocktails were very nice and the bar staff were friendly. They had a ‘grab and go’ which consisted of mini rolls, cakes and cookies (they said). Every time I went there, there wasn’t hardly anything. The patisserie was open 12pm until midnight which was also included in all included. I wasn’t a fan of the cakes as I thought they were dry but my partner enjoyed them. ||The location was very good. We prefer this location to marmaris. You still had the hussle and bussle of the bars and restaurants but the hotel was tucked away and it was only a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. The locals were really friendly. Although they obviously try and get you in to their bar, restaurant or shop, they weren’t rude if you declined. There were lots of water sports and fun excursions you can do. You could also get a taxi boat from just outside the hotel to Marmaris for £2.50 each. The beach was just across from the hotel and you didn’t have to pay for sun-beds if you were guests of the hotel. The sea was actually a lot warmer than the pools. ||The hotel itself was very big and did have the wow factor as you walked in. Security were on all the entrances and there was three. The main entrance, the side entrance and back entrance. The surrounding views were amazing. |There were also plenty of sunbeds. It didn’t matter what time of day you got round the pool, you were never fighting for sun beds. ||Spa was very good and they also had a salon on site. ||They also had photographers on site who offer photo shoots for any occasion. My partner booked these to photograph his proposal to me and they spend hours making sure we had these before we went home the following day which meant they were working up until 22:00. They also offer videography. ||Before we come, we changed our money into Turkish Lira. I wouldn’t bother as they take euros and also English pounds which they actually prefer. ||All in all we had a great two weeks. We would definitely return. The only thing that let it down for us was the food but that wouldn’t change our opinion on a...

Where do I start? Please be aware this is not a 5 star more a 3.5 star. 5 star is luxury this is not...| On arrival 1.15am reception couldn't find our booking. We were told we were at the Perla until we showed our booking details. We were then told to go and get food and drink no greeting or welcome package. Food was rolls and salad which really wasn't fit for that time.| We were not apologised too about the lost booking they admitted was a mistake and were taken to a room which faced driveway corridor was dirty. Dirty plates and glasses littered a ledge. Room 216 please do not settle for this room. It was dark lights needed even in morning. Stains on lampshades. Peeling wallpaper. Black mould in shower tray plug hole i refused to take a shower that night. Floor disgustingly dirty. I got a baby wipe and cleaned a patch you could clearly see where I'd been . Dust on everything. Broken shelves in bathroom so you couldn't use toiletry storage. Fridge frozen block of ice inside. Balcony over grown by 3ft bushes. We ordered and upgraded to a delux sea view room. This is not a delux room. Next day we moved to a smaller standard room as only one available. It was clean light and a bit more modern but overlooked next hotels air con which was so noisy. Sea you could glimpse. So really a refund should be given back to us.| Pools....areas dirty not cleaned in a morning treading on cigarette ends. Pools have dirty tide marks (5 star hotels staff normally clean these most days by getting in the pools) water was really cold in all 3 pools rail/ladders into them were loose and dangerous. Bar not open some days so you had to go back into main area for water. | Food....drinks were served to us in restaurant as we were friendly to staff. Food was not hot enough at all temps were too low for meat/egg storage. Food was quite nland chicken skewers were gristly odd cuts of chicken similar to butterflied but with a teaspoon of meat and mostly bones. Salad area was good...desserts poor. . Overall choice of food poor. I struggled all week as GF and lacto free. | The Spa apparently not owned by hotel?? Dirty place needs refurb. I went into shower. Shower head on an angle tried to straighten but couldn't water pouring out of side as holes blocked. I literally had a 10 second shower as handle came off in my hand. Couldn't get changed in changing area as staff 3 girls sitting there talking oblivious to over flowing tissue on floor from bins etc. So I changed by the sinks. Inside pool in spa warm at least but filthy tide marks on water line. Algae where walls meet the floor. Windows mirrors filthy while staff sit chatting. Upholstery on loungers filthy.| I took myself off into reception to do my makeup and hair as too dirty in there. Oh jacuzzi in there rail so dangerously wobbly that it swung from side to side when trying to get in plus very hot water for a jacuzzi. | Reception and entrance very grand although upholstery very dirty with stains but beyond this it all needs a refurbishment especially bedrooms. Many people over the 10 days complained and moved rooms so it wasn't just us.| A very dissapointing hotel we have stayed in only 5 star hotels and this was not a 5 star more a 3.5 star. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. | Staff are miserable won't make conversation. The only nice ones were in the restaurant and cocktail bar. We aren't big drinkers but the cocktails were good. | Icmeler bay is stunning with gritty sand warm water but the bars/tacky shops /fake clothing/neon lights cheapened a beautiful place bar workers constantly trying to guide you into the bars. We politely said no as full and we were met with such aggression for not wanting to go in. It was quite unerving. |Would I return? No!! That hotel needs a good clean and refurbishment as pool ladders rails dangerous. Cleaners need to be better and reception night staff are useless we should never have been put in such a dank dirty room. For us a waste of good money and any one who thinks this is a 5 star needs to get out and try proper 5 star accomadation as this is poor.|As you can guess we won't be returning to Turkey for...

My fourth time staying in the vicinity of Marmaris, second in Icmeler, but unfortunately my week’s stay with Marti Resort was the most disappointing.

I’d read the reviews and went in with an open mind that this wasn’t the five star luxury it was promoting itself, but I wouldn't recommend Marti when there are similarly priced yet superior hotels such as Elite World and Hotel Aqua on its doorstep.

Staying with my girlfriend and two other friends half board in two rooms, here’s the gist of our experience. It’s not comprehensive but I’ve picked out the main things that bothered us:

THE GOOD

Perfect location directly on the seafront with quick access to the beach. A small raised area by the pool even offers ocean views.

Good security at front, rear and side entrances who are always checking for wristbands. No other hotel seemed bothered who was walking into their complex.

Pool areas are large and unobstructive by nearby buildings if you’re looking for all day sun.

Main restaurant (buffet) meals have a fairly decent selection. Against other hotels the quality isn’t bad, but nothing to write home about.

Reception and animacion staff teams were the strongest. Good English and plenty of smiles and enthusiasm.

THE BAD

The a la carte fish and italian ‘restaurants’ Marti Resort claim to have is a bit of a lie. You must notify them a day in advance if you wish to eat at one and was told that seating for it is simply outside. Essentially all you’re getting is a different meal from the main dinner choices, not a different restaurant experience as suggested. It’s also 10TL extra

Internet is terrible. Couldn’t get it in the rooms (100 complex) and couldn’t get it in the restaurant. Only the lobby and certain areas of the pool are within reach.

The pool area is rarely quiet. There are two huge PA speakers which the entertainment team regularly use to pump out dance tracks. The complex is large enough for quiet areas if they wanted it.

No welcome pack is provided in the rooms providing information such as restaurant open times, how to access internet, on-site facilities, resort map etc. The lack of internet just compounds this problem.

Bar staff and pool snack service was very poor. There’s literally about five items on the menu if you feel peckish in the day. We often had to leave the hotel and bring back much cheaper and tastier snacks from the adjacent Tikki Beach restaurant.
