This is our second visit to Palm Gardens, having stayed in October last year.|Since then the apartments have been repainted and had new modern air conditioning installed into both the bedroom and now the living room which is a good send!|The apartments are exactly what you’d expect for the budget price you pay for this hotel so please don’t expect 5* luxury because you won’t get it here.|The apartments are reasonably big, 4 of us had plenty space to move around. The balconies all overlook the pool which is terrific.|This time we had a corner room and it did feel bigger, especially the bathroom which had a large double shower.|The air conditioning works great though at £10 per day it’s certainly not cheap!|Like most apartments the walls and floors aren’t very thick so loud noise from other units was heard, especially above when walking on the floors. Though this didn’t disturb us too much.|The pool area is great and there were always plenty of beds, being peak summer we did have a few days of ‘sunbed wars’ with people up at daft o’clock to put towels down on prime beds and then not show up until afternoon. This was quickly stopped though as a notice was put up in every room staring towels before 7am would be removed. This seemed to sort things out.|Drinks and food are reasonably priced and readily available from the pool bar and main bar. I know some people have said they had issues with things appearing on their bill but we never ever had any of this.|A lot of hotels and apartments don’t like you running up big bills but this was never an issue here. The staff all got to know us well and we know them. Special mentions to Eric and Ozzy who were brilliant throughout!|I’m not sure why Ali the owner gets a bad rep as we always found him really pleasant to be around, he made sure my family had a great holiday at the end! When we first arrived we hired a fan, not expecting air con in the living area so when we took it back the next morning Ali was only too happy to give us a refund.|There were some issues with some of the kids when the slides go off with them climbing up onto them, the staff tried to stop this with several warnings and announcements but it was only when Ali brought out his red/yellow card as humour I might add that this stoped. A warning to parents - please don’t let your kids be mindless thugs on the slides!|The location of Palm Gardens is an exceptional! A quiet part of Icmeler but 5 mins from all the shops, bars and restaurants and only 10 mins from the beach.|You really won’t get a better value apartment with all the amenities this close anywhere.|We will...
Read moreReturned from Palm garden apartments on Saturday after a week , the hotel itself is ok , nice rooms just need a good refresh, sheets weren’t changed once while there and towels changed 3 times because I asked, The pool area is a great area but needed new cushions on the sunbeds as they were old and foam coming out of a lot of them , there is no lifeguard and no one even monitoring the pool activities , notices up everywhere about not using inflatables on the slides , everyone , adults and kids all using inflatables going down slides every day , , the staff are on another level !! |The owner I think he was called Ali is the rudest most ignorant small man I have ever had the displeasure to meet , all he is bothered about is what you can pay for next , arrived, checked in while he was on his phone the whole time only spoke when asking , do we want to buy WiFi , Aircon and safe deposit box , give us key told us room number and off we went no welcome or hi , ate and drank a few times in the bar area on the first couple of days food ok, staff are so miserable , give menu , take order , bring food , ask room number , no good morning or hi just no conversation or smile , food nothing special but ok for a snack r breakfast , on our 3rd day we ran out of toilet tissue , had 1 in room on arrival but not replaced , went to reception to ask for one , was abruptly told by Ali that it was self catering love and there is supermarkets all over so go out and buy it , now if I had known I would have but I wasn’t aware that I had to buy toilet paper I have never ever had to and am well travelled but honestly it wasn’t even about that it was the way he spoke to me like I was nothing . We paid our bill for food and drinks we’d had up to then and never bought another thing or went in the bar again , my money will spend anywhere and I would sooner spend it outside where everywhere we went for food or drinks the staff were amazing . There were signs all over saying you can’t bring food r drink around pool area unless bought from palm gardens , Ali told me I was self catering so I self catered and had drinks around the pool I bought from supermarket along with my toilet paper , also to say the apartment were self catering , there was no kettle we had to boil water in a pan and there was a plug in 2 hob cooker , no microwave, not bothered as we don’t cook on holiday but just mentioning if your thinking you can make a meal you know why your self catering .If you like politeness , friendliness, welcoming or just for staff to be nice avoid this place and...
Read moreYou get what you pay for I suppose, if you take a mixture of all the reviews you just about get the right answers. Would I recommend this hotel, yes if you don't want high quality rooms and bed, yes if you are taking children. Yes for location.| It is a very dated hotel, we were there in early September for 10 days so got the end of the summer holidays when there were children there when the pool is loud and were also there when the children had left and then it was much quieter. |Despite several reviews saying there are loads of sun beds if you don't put your towel down this is not true until late afternoon they all go in the mornings so we went to the beach a few mornings because we could not get a sunbed. |100% agree with the situation with "Ali" returning guests were treated like royalty others, not so, as with others when giving the keys in we just got a thumbs up no conversation. I dont think he spoke to us all ten days. He walks round the hotel talking to his regulars. Couple of the waiters were really good but i dont know there names.|We had to complain about the bed as it was so old every time one of us moved slightly in bed there was so much creaking it woke the other one up, despite the complaint and someone looking at it and agreeing nothing was done even when asked a second time, nothing, which was disappointing and did effect sleep.|The air con is £10 a day and buy toilet rolls as they do not replace them.|Our sheets on arrival were dirty and stained and the towels if clean are certainly very old. The freezer box, was 100% blocked with a build up of ice and could not be used.|Food, the sandwiches are disappointing don't expect any salad with any of your sandwiches despite chicken and tuna sandwich showing lots of salad on the pictures. Only ate on an evening twice the steak was fantastic and we went to the party night, you just have to queue up for the food so you don't actually know what is there so just end up with a right mixture on the plate. Entertain is ok.|The hotel is in a great base, close to the beach, and the centre where there are quality places to eat. The pool area is nice, the bar service is fine. It is a good base if your not expecting...
