The staff of Okra House is so welcoming! Especially Rebecca and Gloria are funny and chatty and super friendly! I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is very conveniently located close to the airport and the free airport transfer takes the headache away of finding a taxi in a new country when you are not familiar yet with the rates etc. The rooms look very cute and are spotlessly clean. The place has a beautiful garden where I even spotted some velvet monkeys and it is at a quiet location. The breakfast is nice too with fresh fruit, toast and eggs made to order. If you take the standard room you will have your own bathroom, but you have to cross a little hallway and the room is not very big. It is worth it to upgrade to the bigger room with balcony and bathroom inside. Free wifi is available as well. If you need to print a pcr test result the staff can arrange a motor taxi to a print shop. I really felt welcome here and stayed here at the beginning and...
Read moreGreat place to stay in Entebbe!|This is my third time staying at Okra House and it feels like a home away from home, It's one of my favorite parts of traveling to Uganda!!| The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are sparkling clean, and thr grounds are beautiful and secure and have a lovely gardent to sit in while you watch the monkeys. It's also very close to the airport, so I highly recommend booking a night there if you arrive on a flight late in the evening as it's a total schlep to get into Kampala after a long day of travel, and you can ask to have their wonderful driver Arthur pick up you up. The breakfast in the morning is also excellent. Last but not least, they definitely have reasonable day rates, so if you're looking for a place to have a nap or shower or relax before you get to the airport, definitely hit this up. |And many thanks to Diana, Vivian, Arthur and Esther for always being so welcoming and...
Read moreI'm not gonna lie, the place is nice and clean ,but maybe if you're white you get a better treatment or welcome. I didn't feel welcome at all , the night lady barely even looked me in the eyes , i had more luggage but my white boyfriend with just one bag, she almost knelt down begging to carry his, even after enough times of him saying he's okay and he's going to carry it himself, she still followed him up the first staircase still begging to carry his bag. That's when she remembered I was there with more bags and asked if she could carry mine. To which I said no. We'd had a long day and traveled since morning. We could have stayed the whole week but we left 2days after since we'd already booked 2. I won't even explain the attitude she gave me on the phone when I called about the rooms, and when he called, the receptionist was the sweetest. Simply put it that you'd prefer "white...
