Reparatrix Retreat Centre||||Entebbe||||What a Special Place!||||674512168||||While searching for a place to stay in Entebbe, as I needed to wait for the next day arrival of my fiancee, I came across information about this convent's Retreat Center, and saw they welcomed regular travelers. Everything about the experience that followed was completely satisfying, a great introduction for first-time travel to Uganda. It's one thing to stay in a convent in Rome, but Uganda?||||The Sisters of Mary run a retreat center for meetings of all kinds and welcome unaffiliated travelers as well. Breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are available at reasonable prices; I took advantage and everything prepared was delicious, including the largest chicken leg I have ever seen.||||The rooms have large opening windows (some with balconies), comfortable beds, mosquito netting, clean restrooms, and hot showers. These rooms overlook the spacious compound - beautiful and wonderfully landscaped and cared for. There are several acres of gated privacy overlooking (and close to) Lake Victoria.||||The rates are fair and if you coordinate your arrival pickup through the Centre, they have a designated service that assures low rates for trips back and forth to the airport and elsewhere. ||||If you have an early morning flight, this is a fine place to stay as it is 6 minutes from the airport. If you get to Uganda on a late night flight, you might want to consider spending your first night here, and get some rest and sleep before heading into Kampala...
