It was a short stay experience for my family in Villaggio hotel and resort, as we are only staying for the night in the hotel because we had and event in Khalifa University in the next morning. We are from Dubai and decided to stay in AUH for the to avoid early morning drive from Dxb. We already experience several hotels in Dubai so we know a bit of hotel standards. Upon checking in at 21:30, we are Blown away with how the reception staff show their hospitality, especially Ashin who took care of our booking and make sure all our prebook request is followed. We recieve an email confirming that our request is approve, so we are very excited to have a room next to each so that the kids can bond more time with their Auntie and Uncles more. Unfortunately!, when we arrive in the villa/apartment rooms, our Junior room is located in the basement part(Rm.801) which the wifi connection is very slow, and the Deluxe room(Rm.807) is in the top of the apartment in which the kids had hard time going up and down in the stairs. My son 11 years old fell from the bottom stairs going to the basement room, so decided to gather together in Deluxe room which we exceed the maximum capacity of the room. Ashra( security )knocked on our door to warn us to keep our voices down, because other rooms are complaining. From that moment, we feel that we are not welcomed, then excellent first impression with the hotel faded Towels are in complete for the amount of people booked, room telephone/ service 50-50 chance working, both toilet sink is blocked, not enough water for room guest. Early in the morning 9:00, I went to the reception/concierge to tell our experience. No manager around to assist guest complain/suggestion or assist urgent matter which I think hotel with your name should have supervisor/manager 24/7. Receptionist told me that team leader or manager will only be in at 10:00am. I came back at 10:00am to meet Bola and make sure that no other guest is around to hear my experience. for me, it's a 1 - or 2-star hotel maximum.. i visited some 2 and 3 stars hotel in Abu-dhabi, and it was way better
i was planning to stay 4 nights in Abu-dhabi just to avoid travelling daily from and to dubai, as i had a work in Abu-dhabi at that week.. and i was looking for a peaceful place to stay in... however, i regret my decision.. and the hotel i selected...
they put me in the basement that wasn't mentioned during the online booking.. the basement rooms have terrace to other rooms toilets windows, old toilets, dirty sofas and bed and hard pillows that you will never be able to sleep, limited drinks, non availability of any people outside or any vallet parking , many massages outside.. below average breakfast...
the main issue for me was the dark lights they're providing in the rooms as if its a massage room.. there's LITERALLY no bloody light in the room, and it caused me a headache, and my eyes were tired.. and i had to go to reception twice and explain to him the importance of having a basic and essential thing such as light!!! as if they invented the light yesterday!!! , the manager tried to help, and they provided an extra light stand.. it doesn't solve the issue yet.. but i had to live with it just to pass these 4 bloody days that i booked...
.. outdated TV and channels , outdated phones, last century , smelly & dirty AC, also the small lights that's belong to the 18th century that keep making noisy sound the whole time , this hotel is outdated everything.... it looks like it was built in 1950, and they're still using that time tools & technologies...
just to be fair.. the only good thing is that the Arabic manager (i think he's Syrian) is nice and supportive. the reception staff are very nice and kind ...
