I usually enjoy coming here for LetsWork. But today was unpleasant.
I didn't realise I had arrived 5 mins before their Letswork service started. The place was littered from their breakfast crowd. Tables, chairs and the floor. But I appreciated that the breakfast had just finished.
I sat in an empty section of seating next to a littered table hoping to use it once cleaned, and kindly requested the waitress to wipe it as I planned to sit there once LetsWork timeing began. I thought, for less than now 5 minutes, they would be lenient. She wasn't and simply took the plates and cutlery away and walked off, leaving the table still full of food debris.
This place is not busy at all. So she could have found a few seconds to be courteous and helpful to their customer.
I sat and waited, no one came to wipe the table so I could even unpack my laptop in preparation to start.
I approached a waiter at the coffee machine and asked for help but was just told "yes yes, someone will come and clean". No one came.
The waitress walked by and so I walked up to her and repeated could you please wipe the table so I can begin .
"Lets Work is not until 11! We clean in 2 stages". I said I just wished to at least set my laptop down (bearing in mind it was almost 11 now - but she made no exception and just dismissed me). I have never visited an establishment in Dubai where the staff REFUSED to wipe a table when requested.
She waited until 11am precisely before begrudgingly coming back and wiping the tables in the section I sat.
Why do they not have tables prepared in advance for us who have paid Letswork to use their facilities?
Anywhere else, we can begin work immediately. Not wait for the mess to be cleared . As seen the floor around me was still messy .
Unpleasant start to my day. Staff unhelpful and...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful hotel with an amazing breakfast that I didn’t realize was free until we got there. We traveled for New Year’s 2020 during the pandemic and their attention to cleanliness was top notch. They also took temperature checks the first 2 days we were there...not sure why they stopped. The biggest bonus and ultimate reason I chose this hotel was because we had a washing machine in our room. It really helped my anxiety of being able to clean our clothes everyday after each adventure. It was on the loud side and did take an awful long time for the clothes to dry; but I was still pleased to have that amenity available.
The only real issue is that our flight was delayed an extra 3 hours, so we ended up having a late check in on 12/30. Our Marriott Bonvoy Elite profile requests King Bed on a high floor away from the elevator and the room type we requested wasn’t available. We were told we were receiving room 1330 with 2 queen beds on the 13th floor; however, those beds were full size! I know because they are size of our children’s beds at home. We couldn’t sleep together comfortably. When I inquired about a King bed, one did open up on the 5th floor, but we opted to stay on the 13th floor with our view of the pool.
Lastly, the tour companies that picked us up commented that we were far; but it worked out because tourists downtown had to cancel their New Year’s Eve excursions due to all the street closures that afternoon. The location worked for us because it was quiet and felt like it was 20 minutes from everything; except the airport. Food deliveries weren't a problem and we even had a convenience store across the street from us. Hopefully we will get the exact room we requested next time because we plan to...
Read moreMy wife and I booked the Element Me'aisam Dubai for 8 nights in February 2025 with our 5 month old daughter. We wanted somewhere out of the City where it was easy to access different areas in and around Dubai and it suited us perfectly for that. Everything was a drive away but we knew that when we booked here.
The breakfast was also a really good surprise. There was fresh fruit that included strawberries and kiwi and everything was prepared fresh each day.
The room was nice but seemed to be missing a few things that appeared in the online photos like a drying rack for dishes and suitcase stand. The clothes washer/dryer 2-in-1 was horrible haha. There wasn't setting on that machine that actually dried clothes.
Our biggest issues with the Element Me'aisam was that there is no sun at the pool in the winter - not an exaggeration. You need to go to the Aloft pool which is ok but it's just inconvenient because you need to walk around the building. The other thing we found frustrating was the loud pumping music at the Aloft pool on Friday and Saturday nights. We had our 5 month old baby trying to sleep and this was very frustrating because we had a room facing the two pools. Hotel staff likely should have warned us about that when they saw we had a baby and had us face the other way or at least make us aware.
Otherwise our stay here was great and the room...
