Where to start? What an amazing find this hotel is it's possibly the most relaxed environment I've ever had the pleasure of staying in whilst travelling. Initially we found the hotel due to a mix up we had at the Cadiz lounge whilst in transit and despite the fact that it was not really the fault of the lounge that we were unable to enjoy the facilities Lawrence the manager assured us that we would receive a refund and invited us to go to the lounge on our next transit, he also escorted us to the train to ensure we made our connection. We were so impressed by his customer service we decided to try the hotel on our return journey and we are so glad we did. We booked direct with the hotel website and later on got an invitation to upgrade to an executive room which offered a meet and greet service, free drinks and snacks, free breakfast and an upgrade room, if you're thinking of booking here don't hesitate to book the executive room or upgrade on arrival. We were met by Jenny on disembarking from the plane, Jenny was polite and informative and soon had us located at check in and she also knows all the short cuts to the hotel. On arrival at check in Rhonna was there to ensure a fast and efficient check in and explained the amenities on offer which are vast. Once checked in to a huge en suite room which was all but a suite itself we went to the bar/dining area and met the two guys Eugene and Bibake who were also first class with attention to detail and service, nothing was to much trouble. After a great nights sleep in a queen size bed we made use of the massage chair in the bedroom and proceeded to breakfast which offers a wide range of foods and fruit until 10.30 when the menu changes and I highly recommend the steak and mushrooms. Free drinks and food are available at all times and there is no rush or limit. After breakfast we were talking to Pamela on reception and telling her we were so impressed with the Philippine staff we were considering visiting there next year, she took the time to tell us about the best places to visit. Laurence also came along to wish us well and enquire how our stay had been. All in all this was even better treatment and room comfort than we had experienced in some 5* hotels on our travels. If you ever find yourself stuck in Dubai airport with time to kill don't waste time and money in the concourse get a room here and you will not be disappointed. We will certainly be arranging our future flights around staying here rather than trying to book the shortest connection we will be looking for at least 12 hour connections to enjoy all the hotel and staff...
Read moreCan't believe I ever flew through Dubai without staying in this hotel! So much better to have a good night rest in between of flights AND you get to be alone! After all the crowdiness in the airports and planes... feels like heaven!
I was dancing, doing yoga, talking to myself, working, eating healthy, showering, sleeping...
In stead of laying on the floor or already being on the next flight.
I read some bad reviews beforehand, so I didn't have high expectations. But I figured a bad bed is still better than no bed.
To my surprise the room was way way better than expected. The reviews I read said the rooms were very old. Well maybe the reviews are old now :-) My room was very new and there was way more space than you would expect in an airport hotel... or any hotel. I got a queen bed, a sofa, a desk of like 5 meters long... Big bathroom... And that was the cheapest room! Image the suites...
The guy who was supposed to meet me at the plane wasn't there, I guess he either thought I didn't show up, because I was the last one going off the plane or he was somewhere else. We were brought from the plane to the airport with busses, so he might have been somewhere where another bus stopped. In any case it was easy to find: just follow signs for gates B & once you are there, follow the signs hotel :-)
It's on top of the business lounge: so you can peek into what those guys are up to
The hotel receptionist wasn't that I got wasn't the friendliest, but it was midnight and busy with people who couldn't get a room (so book in advance!), so understandble that she was a bit short.
Then that guy who was supposed to meet me at the airplane, came to meet me at the reception instead and brought me to my room. He was super kind!
So were all the other staff members.
Very good room service food: got a healthy fish and veggies, freshly prepared after midnight.
The bathroom was very new too, lots of shaving stuff and toothbrushes. Really everything you need!
There is a gym and pool but I didn't go. I prefered sleeping and getting some work done. Internet worked very well (with wifi, not with the cable)
With no doubt, whenever I fly from Australia to Europe again, I'll do it with a stop here. Even longer next time. & I already told everyone at home to fly with a stop in this hotel when they...
Read moreI had an absolutely horrible experience with Dubai International Hotel, and I want to warn others before they fall into the same scam-like trap.
Misleading Pricing – Your Credit Card Will Be Charged More Than Advertised
I booked a room that was advertised for €280, but within seconds, my credit card was charged over €450. The extra amount was justified as “taxes,” but these were never displayed upfront before finalizing the booking. If you think you’re paying a reasonable price, think again—because what you see is not what you will be charged.
The moment I saw the huge discrepancy, I canceled the reservation within two minutes. I immediately called the hotel to ensure I wouldn’t be charged for a room I never intended to book at that price. The representative on the phone gaslit me, claiming that their prices are not misleading and that, since I canceled, I would still be charged $450 for nothing—because their reservations are non-refundable.
So, let me get this straight:
• They trick you with misleading prices • When you realize it’s a scam and cancel within minutes, they still take your money • They offer zero solutions and hide behind fine print
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was flatly told “there is nothing we can do” and that I should have read the fine print. This is not how a reputable hotel operates—this is the behavior of a scam operation that preys on travelers.
Realizing I was getting robbed for a room I never stayed in, I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge. It’s beyond ridiculous that a hotel inside an international airport is running a deceptive pricing scheme where people unknowingly agree to inflated charges.
Final Warning: Book at Your Own Risk
Dubai International Hotel has zero transparency, deceptive pricing, and predatory policies. If you value your money and don’t want to fight with your bank over fraudulent charges, STAY AWAY. I might be out $460 for a two-minute transaction, all because they hide their real prices in fine print and refuse to take responsibility.
This is one of the worst hotel booking experiences I have ever had. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNLESS YOU WANT...
