Met family here who were staying for 14 nights and we stayed for 10 nights at the end of June into July. This is our 6th time visiting Dubai. ||First impressions were good on arrival we were greeted by Sunil who swiftly sorted our luggage and took us straight to the Club to check in & have breakfast after our night flight.||Sarah then came though to the lounge with an iPad to do the mandatory check in. She was not welcoming at all her and her attitude and demeanour was that she did not want to be there. Our room was not ready which was fine as it was 11am and check in was not until 3pm although she did say it will be ready soon and that we would get a call. As our family were there we just went to their room. Our room was allocated not long after and the room attendant found us in my daughters room with the key to ours. ||The rooms were large but dark and dated. There was a huge bath that the whole family could fit in along with the shower etc. Things like a mirror missing from the wall where the vanity unit was and nails protruding through the wooden floor as you went out to the balcony which we didn’t see until my husband stood on them barefooted let the hotel down too. There is a WhatsApp messaging servicing you can use and we reported this via WhatsApp. We were asked if we needed any paramedic assistance which we did not. Someone came to see the nails & they were not fixed properly. The aesthetics that could potentially be dangerous especially to children go unnoticed. The hotel overall lacks a customer facing focus. The hotel is due to start a refurbishment soon & this I’m sure will be welcomed by future guests. I’m so glad we didn’t pay the £4,000 we were quoted for an upgrade for all of us! ||On one of the evenings when entering the club lounge Sarah was down right rude to my son in law for wearing open toe shoes saying he had already been told about this, which he had not been! Meanwhile every other man had open toe shoes on in the club with the exception of one couple! There was an area that said no children but children were allowed in and that was on the days when there was plenty seats outside this area. I think it was a case of, if your face fitted! Sarah’s behaviour was reported to her boss Mutha & she did apologise but by now the damage was done. ||Ali the Trainee who was not employed by the hotel was the most sociable helpful and welcoming of the staff. Sishi, Ganesh, Alex & Maia were the friendlier of the staff employed by the hotel. For us normally building relationships with the staff helps to make our holiday but, sadly in this hotel there were too many who clearly did not want to be there! ||The pool area is well kept & the staff constantly work hard bringing round facial water spritz, face cloths, water in cooler bags filled with ice, ice lollies and sun glass cleaning. This is all complimentary. ||There are a few shops in the hotel which are nice to browse if you want out of the heat. You can buy the souvenirs cheaper outwith the hotel. ||The Talise Spa is fabulous. My daughter & I had a hammam and full body massage, the staff were lovely. There’s an indoor pool, snow room as well as the steam room & sauna. The ginger tea provided was lovely too. ||We enjoyed the Dine Around option. In the hotel we ate at Al Nafoorah Lebanese, Amala Indian & Tori Tori Japanese. On our last night we booked the Japanese and the only option for times was 6:30 pm or 9 pm. We asked for 7:30/8pm as we wanted to spend our last few hours with our family before they went out. We were advised there were no other times available. You can imagine our utter disappointment when we arrived at the restaurant and there were only 4 tables taken and throughout our 2 hours of dining only another 2 were taken by the time we left. This left us extremely annoyed!| |We also went out to the Pai Thai, Trattoria and Dhow & Anchor where we had the Sunday roast here which was bland there was no flavour in the gravy & we had to ask for desserts and ask more than twice for the bill. We found that the service in most restaurants with the exception of Trattoria was slow. I don’t know if this is a Jumeriah wide issue. ||On checking out we went to settle the bill the evening before & were asked how our stay was & would we return. At this point we explained why we wouldn’t return and the reception staff asked if we would like to speak to a manager so we did as there’s no point in coming on here and not bringing it to the managements attention. Ramy took the time to speak to us and already knew of the issues we had with Sarah & with the room and was apologetic for this. He knew himself whilst the WhatsApp was a good tool it was not as personal as speaking to a person. As a gift Ramy deducted 700 dirhams (c£140) off our total bill which we were not looking for and told him we would sooner have had the service and experience we have had in other hotels than a monetary gesture. ||Overall we found the staff to be unwelcoming and the hotel itself is too far away for getting off the Palm as it’s round at the end of the west crescent. We only came to this hotel as our family were here and we would not return or recommend this hotel due to the location and the unfriendliness of the staff. This is the first hotel we have stayed at in Dubai where we would not recommend anyone to visit. My husband has also updated our local travel agent of the issues as described above as she was interested in adding this hotel for her clients. She will not be...
Read moreIn our recent visit to the Palm in Dubai, we had the opportunity to stay at a new hotel. Upon our arrival at 2 a.m. after a long flight, we were greeted by a remarkably friendly staff member who opened the car door and greeted us with a warm smile. Although I did not recall his name, I distinctly remember his imposing physique.
The reception staff was exceptionally attentive and ensured our comfort from the moment we entered the hotel. They prepared a refreshing lemon and mint drink for us.
Upon reaching our room, we were disappointed to discover that the air conditioning was malfunctioning, and the room was damp and humid. Consequently, we made our way to the reception desk, feeling both weary and irritable. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service we received there.
The staff promptly changed our room and upgraded our accommodations. They efficiently transferred our luggage from one room to another without any issues. Their exceptional service left a lasting impression.
The room was aesthetically pleasing, albeit requiring some minor updates. It featured a large television with English movie channels, and the view from the balcony overlooking JBR was breathtaking. The room was relatively quiet, free from disturbances from other guests.
The hotel’s amenities were well-stocked, including a well-stocked mini bar that we did not utilise, a Nespresso machine that we did, and an ample supply of water. The Aumage shower gel and shampoo were a delightful addition. For those familiar with the world of perfumes, Aumage is widely regarded as an exceptional brand.
The hotel’s pool is undoubtedly one of its most impressive features. It is an expansive infinity pool surrounded by numerous loungers. While it is not recommended to reserve a lounger, many guests still do so, often early in the day. We consistently managed to secure a lounger.
The hotel grounds are meticulously maintained, and the delightful aroma of blooming flowers permeates the air throughout the property. The water features are awe-inspiring, and there is an abundance of activities to engage in, including a small pool designed specifically for children, a play park and a pool table. An ice cream bar is also available.
One aspect that distinguishes this hotel from its competitors is the exceptional staff. The hotel would be utterly devoid of its current state without their unwavering dedication and support. I would like to highlight several individuals who have made a significant impact on our experience.
Vijith Prigantha, the chef, is a true professional who goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being of our guests, particularly our fussy eater son. He meticulously prepared his meals and even made special arrangements to provide him with a separate dish. His infectious happiness and genuine love for his work are evident in every interaction. Prigantha is knowledgeable and informed us about the food choices and their nutritional value. He is a true gentleman and a credit to the hotel, along with all the other chefs working behind the scenes. They are inspirational.
Islam, the pool attendant, is a remarkable individual who embodies exceptional customer service. Every morning, he greets us with a warm smile and assists us in finding a comfortable lounger. He provides us with refreshing water with ice and ensures that we are well-cared for throughout our stay. Without individuals like Islam, this hotel would be nothing. Islam is a highly professional and dedicated individual who excels in his role.
In conclusion, the hotel’s exceptional staff deserves our utmost gratitude. Their unwavering commitment and dedication have made our experience truly memorable.
Google won’t let me write as much as TA so please see there for further staff appreciation.
Please extend our appreciation to Zabeel for overseeing these remarkable individuals. Their dedication and professionalism are a testament to the exceptional quality of your establishment. Thank you once again for having us, and we eagerly anticipate...
Read moreWe had booked this place for 2nights staycation with half board to spend our wedding anniversary in advance. Must say this has been a lovely experience we had. The valet service was available to greet us at our arrival and escorting us to the reception where we checked in.
At first there was a confusion where I had booked in advance for the Marina facing view on 5th floor but when we got there, they gave us the palm facing one on the 4th floor saying there was no availability, when I paid in advance and booked it. Though I was given another room to check out, I dint like the view I decided to go with it. The rooms looked fancy however the bathtub seemed to have some stains and the focet and shower heads were a bit blackened for a five star hotel which kinda set my mood aside a bit. However, starting off the first day with trying their cafes and restaurants, the politeness of the staff and the exceptional treatment and the e-butler service on WhatsApp where our queries were very quickly handled had changed my view of them completely. I started to like the feeling they gave us. Tried their Cafe Zabeel delights to have some evening coffee and staff Mr. Pradeep made it special by giving us a raspberry cheesecake as a complimentary which was lovely of him. E-butler service was very helpful in reserving the restaurants there. Walking around exploring the hotel and it's available facilities kinda pumped us to try everything the next day. For dinner tried their Japanese restaurant Tori Tori which was a delicacy. Amazing food and lovely staff politeness. Later, at our room we tried the bath tub and was amazing with the luxury ambience they had there. They kept a bowl of fruits and specially a cake with macaroons to wish us for our wedding anniversary was an extra touch of care and welcome that we appreciated alot for this gesture. The view was overlooking their outdoor pool and could see the palm though it was not that high enough to see the palm design. Their bed was super comfy and you will sink in the moment you jump in after the long days tiredness and a soothing hot salted bath tub experience. Instantly fell asleep. The second day started off with a huge breakfast at their imperium restaurant which served buffet. There were Arabian, Indian, French, and English breakfast options available. Everything! Then to digest all that we walked around more taking amazing pictures from the lobby where they have massive pillars which are painted with 22k gold. We tried their gym which had amazing hitech equipments. Following that tried their amazing spa facilities that are free for residents of the hotel. This was the part we loved the most. The indoor swimming pool which is not chorinated and instead salted was an experience. We dint try outdoors as it was too hot for us this summer. However they had sauna, hot jacuzzi and a snow room. Following it a hot marble stone lounge sipping their special relaxing herbal tea looking out at the garden was a spectacular feel. Must say this Talise spa experience made our stay even more special and is a must must try. We couldn't try their massages as it wasn't in our budget. They have a mini cinema theater as well. But honestly there were there were many seats broken and dint repair it I'm not sure why being a five star missed on these. Later evening we dined at their famous Amala restaurant which serves Indian cusine. Best dishes I have tried rich in flavours and variety dishes was too heavy tbh. Heading to the room we felt gravity too high but the moment we fell on our beds we were floating! Final day of checkout we started off with our gym session and later freshed up and wanted to try their zenzi restaurant which had lovely ambience but looking at their limited food displayed there we headed back to the royal looking Imperium restaurant filling ourselves up before the checkout. A lovely retreat well spent. Would recommend anyone visiting here for atleast minimum 3 nights with half board and a massage treatment if you have the budget for it to experience it...
