Well, I don't even know where to start! I paid around 3,800 AED for a three-night stay at this hotel due to an emergency. I also went for the full package with breakfast and food included, so I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. It was actually my first time staying at this hotel because I usually book elsewhere, but circumstances led me here. The location was convenient for the places I needed to visit. From the moment I arrived, the hotel staff gave me headaches. When I arrived at the valley with my car, I asked the guy where I could park and if the concierge could pick up my stuff from there. I didn't want to give my car to the valet, so I planned to park it myself. But then one of the staff members confirmed being able to send the concierge to the parking and gave me directions, telling me to take a right and then the first right. Clear directions right? That basically led me to the ground parking area, which the concierge doesn't handle. So I ended up walking to the hotel and calling the concierge. And guess what they said? They actually asked me to go back and park the car up myself! I had to express my disappointment and told them they didn't respect our culture. I mean, I had already walked a distance and after a long drive!
I had to be superly rude to their manager and to make things worse, they sent someone to grab my stuff without a concierge. But yeah job was done.
Moving on the second day, when I went to have breakfast, the eggs were the highlight and I really enjoyed them. However, when it came to dinner, it was a different story. The options were very limited and not satisfying at all. I noticed that the food lacked taste, especially on the first day. However, I must say that the buffet selection did improve in the following days. (Must admit only chefs were extremely kind, mixed nationalities) and I’m not racist all of the Indians there they brought hell to most of the guests, just to note i have really good Indian friends and i don’t mean to point anything but the fact how it showed a lot of comparisons from other hotels managed by all other nationalities…
Moreover and making it worse, I had a negative experience with the valet guys and security when my guest was being dropped off. They displayed rude behavior, which was quite disappointing. On another occasion, I had an emergency and needed to take my dinner with me since I wouldn't be at the hotel during dinner time. When I called to ask if they could bring it to my room, they initially refused and asked me to take it from the restaurant, and I had to go all the way down to the restaurant to explain the situation again. It was frustrating to face resistance, especially considering it was an emergency and I had already paid for the meal. Yeah, they solved it at the end, how? By delivering the food to my room!
The overall service in the hotel, including the restaurants and their other amenities is very disappointing. I can go on forever. Terrible behavior and they are great on making things really complicated on guests.
I'm currently on a business trip, and I had initially planned to check in after getting the sales numbers from the reception. Since the hotel is conveniently located near my business, I was hoping to negotiate around 50 nights for my department team. However, I don't want to let my team suffer. Coming from a background in hospitality, I must say that even a 3-star hotel in the UAE offers better services, moralities, and more flexibility with their guests. It's disappointing when a hotel doesn't meet our expectations, but it's important to prioritize the comfort and well-being of our team. To consider looking for another hotel that can provide a better experience. I'll definitely share my honest feedback in a review to help others make informed decisions.
Honest opinion, this hotel is not worth it Book...

Contrary to the agreement with the management for a specific room rate, they increased it 4 days before due date by 25%! The argument was of course EXPO and winter-season, but this was already ongoing 4 weeks before when we agreed on the lower room rate. Thanks for giving the possibility to re-arrange living.
So, this is how guests (we were staying for more than 4 months now) are treated.
Besides that, they offer almost daily FALSE fire alarm during night time, so if you prefer to sleep, you might make another choice. Not a joke, during the 4 months, this happened every 3 nights. The response from the reception in the morning was always playing surprised.... If sound doesn't keep you away from sleeping, the emergency LED flashes in your room may help to wake up.
The last 3 weeks, the pool was booked for private purposes on Saturdays, so if you are working during the week, and have only chance on the weekend - your personal bad luck. No voucher for a dinner or free coffee. Just payed these days for nothing :-)
The staff from the reception seem not really interested in your presence, most time they don't even look up from their computer if they talk to you. 4 star service?
Masks and safety during Covid19. Nobody cares about guests wearing no masks at the breakfast buffet or somewhere else in public areas. I would at least expect a friendly reminder as this is something that concerns us all. Especially as there are a lot of travel groups with older and more vulnerable people.
Our room was quite old, not the standard of the other hotels around. The bed was broken on one side, the bathroom light could not be switched on or of separately from the rest of the room - very practicable during night time while your partner is sleeping.
This might look like just an upset review, but these topics are some facts somebody should consider because it is affecting a relaxing stay and the safe feeling during pandemic times. One thing we really have to highlight in positive way is the breakfast and the service staff responsible there (Although most of the good ones left during this time because of internal circumstances...). We always felt like being home there but the general way of the management how to treat long-term (they even say 'valued') guests is embarrassing. A word given seems not counting anything, but as long as people go there and spend their money, it will work.
So I just can give an advise to think about your choice of stay. So not everything is bad, but it is not worth anymore for this price. The special made offer was the same as google-prices :-)

Read moreMe and my family had the most incredible 10-night stay at the Metropolitan hotel, and it was an experience we’ll never forget! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. We checked it earlier than we expected the staff Yuki and Meena made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality and quick check-in process. They went out of their way to assist us and got us a room as quick as they can. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained.
I would like to say a huge thanks to Yuki she really made us feel at home and her service was excellent and she was super welcoming. Me, my husband and my kids especially my daughter were very fond of her service and she went above and beyond to assist us. She really made my daughter’s birthday special and I don’t think she’ll ever forget that experience. Thanks to her if we visit Dubai again we will be coming to stay at Metropolitan hotel and recommending the hotel to all our friends and family.
I would also like to give thanks to Manager: Mr Anir and Captain: Jijith and all the other staff Anju, Rahma, Rumene, Joanna, Christian, Caroline, Erika and Honey for their outstanding customer service. Whenever I came to eat with my family for breakfast they were exceptional — so polite, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The staff were very attentive and friendly, ensuring a warm welcome and great hospitality. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options suitable for adults and kids.
There were times during my stay when I had to order room service or required assistance. Caroline was very prompt with her service and went out of her way to help us and she’s incredibly welcoming and always ready to help.
I would also like to mention I had an amazing time using the courtyard downstairs. Whenever I felt like going for a quick break and indulging in a hot drink and enjoying Sheesha. Mohammed was very welcoming and superb in providing me lovely service and made me feel very comfortable to enjoy the experience there. I would also like to give thanks to Hussain he was polite, friendly and delivered excellent hospitality. He made one of the best hot chocolate I tried during my stay. I left feeling so impressed and refreshed. Overall, the experience was top-notch, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone...
