Me and my family stayed here on a whim midweek and the overall experience was fairly positive. Sadly due to staffing issues the room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3pm, but the manager personally went to assist the cleaners so our room would be ready quick. 10 minutes later, we were checked in and in the room. On the first visit to the bathroom we found evidence of a yeti attack (hairs everywhere), but one quick trip to the reception and the manager immediately came to rectify it.||We then came to have a nosey at the advertised play areas for the kids.. There are none, despite the app and website advertising it (6/8/25).apparently the brewers fayre (and play areas) have been ripped out and replaced with "the social". Shame considering it was literally the reason we chose this hotel over others.||We then asked about evening meal (not to start serving until 6pm) and decided to reserve just in case. When we went for our meal we were met by the lovely Katy, what a credit to the hotel she was. Nothing too much trouble, attentive to finishing each course and great with the kids (no easy feat as they're autistic). The poor woman was run ragged single handedly running the bar, bussing the food, seating guests, changing barrels and taking orders.||The food was overall good, short waiting times, hot and tasted good. Breakfast time was a similar experience regarding quality and speed, however the coffee machine was in need of some repairs (although it did work) and the juice glasses could of done with another run through the dishwasher.||In summary, we would stay again (but only if Katy is...

Arrived at the hotel. Reception not very well marked, especially in the evening when it was dark. Went to reception anspd stated to the young lady that we had travelled all the way down from Scotland and therefore would like a quiet room, she said that we would be upstairs in 103 which is a quiet room, so she said. Upon opening the door into the room, it was not exactly very warm. We did then up the temperature, but obviously took quite some time to warm up, bearing in mind that outside the temp was 0c. We heard everybody from the very noisy stairwell, up and down as we were right next to the staircase, and the walls of the hotel are paper thin. When we arrived back at the hotel at 10.00 pm, the other singlebed had been made up, but there was only two of us staying in the room. So somebody had been in the room? When I went downstairs to ask the receptionist why was the singlebed made up? She replied that the room was booked for three people, but my booking for this room was two people. My biggest annoyance was that the two suitcases which were on the single bed (which when we arrived had no cover on it or indeeed that nobody else would be using this bed) were thrown on the floor and some of the clothes were then underneath the cases, which had been...

Very Disappointed.

We travel a fair bit and have used Premier Inn quite a lot. I can safely say this is the worst Premier I have stayed at.

The biggest issue for us was the staff the evening of our arrival. Not a smile in the place, receptionist didn't even say hello, restaurant staff more or less threw our dinner at us and any questions were answered with curt one or two word answers. There was much huffing and puffing.

To be really clear though....the staff the following morning were lovely, a complete contrast.

In the restaurant, the waiting staff wouldn't (or couldn't) answer questions about the meal deal and pointed us to the bar staff, who also didn't know the answers and said 'your waiter should have told you this', as if it was our fault they hadn't. The food was OK but there were several items unavailable including the deserts we wanted, sadly.

Finally the room we were given smelled of drains. We had no issues being moved other than more huffing and puffing from the receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there. The room we moved to had failed air con ... set to 16 degrees but acutal temp in the room never got below 28.

Really not a pleasant stay....

Very disappointed. Had booked our stay with our two children in January 2025 for valentines night. We decided to book this place as we had been previously, they have a restaurant next door which had an indoor soft play (for the kids) and good food! It wasn’t until so many days before our stay we had a email to say the restaurant was closed (soft play too) and they was doing complimentary hot drinks in the morning free of changes and croissants etc, very stale and a bit of a cop out if you ask me… they wasn’t fresh which we had imagined, all in packaging, if I had known sooner or if they had stated this about the restaurant on the website as i had booked it through there official website I would of booked elsewhere, a bit naughty and misleading. To say we was in a family room people late as night was shouting and woke my 2yo daughter up so we didn’t have a peaceful night was very unsettled so not a pleasant stay. Would we stay again? Hmm not sure very disappointed this time round

We stayed at the Premier Inn on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, and opted for the meal package which included both dinner and breakfast. The food exceeded our expectations, excellent quality, especially for the price. However, the real highlight of our visit was the wonderful waitress, Katy. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and struck the perfect balance between professionalism and approachability. Katy’s warm and personable nature made our evening truly memorable. She went above and beyond, and we shared a fantastic laugh with her throughout the evening. Katy, please keep being exactly who you are, more bars and restaurants could benefit from staff with your dedication and spirit. A solid 5 stars from us! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Steve, Lola, CJ, Carl and Donna. I really enjoyed my stay at this Premier Inn. The building is lovely and the interior is welcoming and clean. All the staff are super friendly and really helpful. My room was very clean and had plenty of space. I had an excellent few nights sleep on the very comfy bed. The bathroom was spotless too with a powerful, full shower. I was equally impressed by the cooked breakfast. Each morning, consistently well cooked and included surprisingly high quality produce. I would happily stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. They say you get what you pay for. Well, for a budget hotel, I feel I got much more than I paid for.
