Deceptive online pictures - you’re not getting what’s advertised.

The website portrays pictures of a clean hotel, however reality is much different.

The room I was in had wallpaper torn and hanging from the wall, soiling/dirt smeared on the walls, and cracks along the wall.

I found pubic hair on the “clean” bedsheets. The duvet cover was ripped at the seams… and there was a face print of makeup on the headboard from the previous occupants having sex which wasn’t cleaned.

The room was cold, and the heater wasn’t working, therefore comfort was low. The mattress was quite uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. The rooms are quite noisy and you can hear road noise as well as other guests in their rooms.

The bathroom had very little toilet roll, with nothing extra for when it ran out. The toilet brush was rusted and dirty. The drawers in the dresser were also dirty and stained.

I bought dinner one night at the bar, and it was equally disappointing. The food was served lukewarm. The vegetables were unseasoned and bland - I reckon the “chef” used a frozen mixed veg bag he found from the supermarket. The potatoes were soapy, and the fish was over-done. I wouldn’t feed it to a dog.

The only redeeming thing is the polite and friendly staff… however the overall experience was...

Booked the hotel for the night. Arrived quite late. Staff were very friendly. The reception is at the bar and had to faff around to give them a photo ID which maybe means they have trouble with guests. It's basically a football hotel and social club for Aston Villa. Not necessarily a bad thing but possibly if you are the sort of person who is easily intimated you would probably walk in and then walk out pretending you left something outside and not go back in. But honestly no issues. The room was incredibly basic but it was relatively clean. The mattress was aweful. It was so old that when I law on it I could feel the base underneath. I didn't sleep well at all. The walls were also very thin and could hear someone snoring in the next room all night. The room also smelt damp and not very nice. I think this is because the bathroom has no extractor fan. It was very noisy outside as there is a motorway flyover overhead but with the windows closed you could not hear anything but on a hot day if you needed the window open this would be a problem. Probably would not book here again due to the mattress and smell in the room. But not a terrible stay. Pretty much would you would expect...

The Aston inn is ideal for any Villa fan just a few minutes walk to the ground. Parking at 5,00 if you are staying there 8.00 if you are not. The staff really make this place they work so hard two inside bars and one outside and it was packed with singing villa fans. ||Post match we had the thrill of hearing the quad Rox band who entertained us with a heap of villa songs and some excellent cover songs the old classic ones everyone having a great time. We decided to retire honour room 112 I have to say it’s very basic and a extra pillow and extra duvet would of been welcomed heating didn’t work and the tv was hard to operate speakers crackles no WiFi. The room and bathroom was clean hot water was excellent for the morning shower and the fluffy towels were lovely. A bin would be useful too.||We sadly didn’t have time for breakfast but I applaud the ladies who transformed a very messy drink sodden pub in to a spotless haven. I would be happy to stay again. ||Food is available from various street stalls outside the pub and on route...

The Aston inn is located not far away from villa football ground , it’s close to all that you need for your stay whether for over night stay or a weekend away It does have multiple rooms twin family & doubles a bar is located on the ground floor with a pool table and full size snooker table , they do have food available, breakfast, lunch , dinner as well as special offers on the bar advertised for alcohol & food . I have stayed at the Aston inn quite a few times with my girlies for over night stay and they are very welcoming the food has always been good, the staff are exemplary always willing to help if needed. New management has now taken over we stayed Friday 20th October for DJ KC which I might add he was very good me and my friends enjoyed his music. The food I received was really enjoyable I had beef dirty fries with Jalapeño’s And my friend had mix grill I would recommend staying

Avoid at all cost!!!! I have never visited such a horrible place and trust me I’ve seen a lot…. 5 minutes into my stay I decided to check out, dirty, smelly, disgusting, staff was rude when I complained, please avoid at all cost. The mattress probably was glorious back in the days when Margaret Tatcher was running the country. Stains on the walls looking like vomit, unidentified stains on the carpet, hair in the bathroom and bedding, my skin is crawling thinking about this place. you should be ashamed for charging £60 a night!!! I swiftly booked a room in another hotel (I will not use the name so you won’t say that I’m supporting competition) and finally after a long shower I’m better, side note the hotel I booked was £64,60!!!! Shame on you, this placed should be shut down and demolished
