1am (17th Aug 22) and we are struggling to sleep (family room). We have room 201. Overall customer experience is fab at check-in, however not living up to the hype of their advertising for a good night's sleep. The beds are not comfortable at all. We switched to Premier Inn after experiencing bad night sleeps at Travelodge. This room has mattresses that need replacing. The double bed has a dip in the middle. I encourage the management to spend a night in this room to see for themselves. This is our first night of 8 different days and different locations for the kids summer, close to £800 worth of bookings. Carlisle is the most expensive of the lot. We are also put off for our stay at Glasgow central today. Visited reception at the early hours to complain, who took note and gave me a web link to put in a complaint. They had no other room to switch us to. Went by all the 4* plus reviews when booking this hotel. It just turned out to be bad luck for us 😭

It's premier inn with great service. Staff are helpful and want to please. Attached is the restaurant for meals and breakfast. Decent size car park with no height limits. 5 minutes up the road, you have the Motorway. There are big superstores on your drive to the motorway. Would I stay again yes. Updated : Great reception staff, who want to help and give you a pleasant stay. No Air conditioning, premier inn should look to having it installed. Would I stay again yes. Updated : Were just going past our 3rd heat wave im told, which brings me to my point, that there is no air-conditioning on this site, only fans in your room. Bare thar in mind when summer booking. Great staff always helpful. I do continue to stay at this location.

One of the best Premier inns I've stayed in & 1st among equals.Rooms are larger than Ibis or Travelodge, tastefully decorated and even had a fan turned on when I checked in during this heatwave.Cleaning is upon request at reception and my room was spotless. A very welcoming reception on arrival, adding buses stop directly outside the hotel that take you to and from the city centre. There's an excellent Brewers Fayre next to the hotel and a lidl over the road.Highly recommended

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Carlisle Premier Inn Hotel last month. Having travelled down from the Midlands for work, I arrived at 9pm, expecting the reliable and comfortable experience I’ve come to associate with Premier Inn. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at one of your hotels.

Upon checking in, I walked through the corridor leading to my room, and the smell was appalling – it reeked like a gutter. To my dismay, my room was on the same floor.

When I entered the room, it was freezing cold despite the bitterly cold temperature outside (-3°C). Shockingly, the window had been left open, and it took nearly two hours for the room to warm up after I closed it.

The cleanliness of the room was another major letdown. The bed sheets were dirty, with visible stains and a hair on the pillow, making me doubt whether the linens had even been changed. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the Premier Inn brand.

To add to the frustration, the water pressure in the bathroom tap was abysmal, making it inconvenient to use.

In the morning, I reported these issues to the receptionist as I was leaving in a rush for work. Unfortunately, her lack of interest was astonishing – she acted as though this was expected, which only added to my disappointment.

I have images and videos documenting all of these issues, and this was truly the worst Premier Inn experience I have ever had. As someone who has stayed at numerous Premier Inns across the UK, I have always trusted the brand to deliver quality, but this stay has completely shattered that trust.

I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to address the issues at this location. The state of the rooms, cleanliness, and customer service need urgent attention. I am deeply dissatisfied and expected much better from Premier...

During our recent stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service, and we simply have to give credit where it's due. Jo, who was working at the breakfast restaurant, made our mornings so much brighter. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with such warmth and energy, making us feel right at home. She went out of her way to make sure our toddler had everything she needed, even offering a high chair without us having to ask and sharing some great recommendations for kid-friendly items on the menu. Jo's kindness truly set the tone for a wonderful start to each day.

And then there's Brian at the hotel reception—what a gem! From the moment we arrived, his friendly demeanor and genuine willingness to help stood out. He made the check-in process smooth and even went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay with a toddler. Brian's knowledge of the area and thoughtful tips made exploring the local spots a breeze. His attention to detail and care made a huge difference in making our experience feel personal and comfortable.

It’s rare to come across people who genuinely seem to enjoy their work and care about the guests, but Jo and Brian both did just that. They made our stay so much more enjoyable, and we're truly grateful for their outstanding service. Thank you,...

As a modest working class, contractor grunt I'd stuck with a standard room through the winter months and pay the £3 tinterweb upgrade. Come the winter time say- Oct/Nov onwards then I could consider the xtra £30 a night for a constant but very...dawdly? Slow, reticent and reluctant internet connection, decent air con and heating a fridge, coffee machine (4pods which can be topped up at reception) 2 chocs and a pod coffee machine. Premier rooms also have an ironing board & iron & a hairdryer & roll of toilet paper...real rolled paper like the kind of stuff we are trusted to use at home. I'm not talking of the single sheet prison type paper dispensers. Gone are championship twister playing toilet paper dispenser slots set at 180° from your comfortable seated position. Here we are treated like adults! Rooms are standard. Staff are always nice to chat to and professional. Hot Water is tepid and the showered are pretty lame. Internet is slow. Worth the extra money for a plus room?

In my opinion.... Nah

An enjoyable hotel? Hahahaha , just like all premier Inns.... it's a premier Inn.. soulless, Nihilistic, Tedious and dull hotel/ bar/ Restaurant and menu.. FFS I hate that FCKN menu.. Whitbread make shocking cheap sh!te for food..don't eat here, you can find a better menu...
