I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Carlisle Premier Inn Hotel last month. Having travelled down from the Midlands for work, I arrived at 9pm, expecting the reliable and comfortable experience I’ve come to associate with Premier Inn. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at one of your hotels.
Upon checking in, I walked through the corridor leading to my room, and the smell was appalling – it reeked like a gutter. To my dismay, my room was on the same floor.
When I entered the room, it was freezing cold despite the bitterly cold temperature outside (-3°C). Shockingly, the window had been left open, and it took nearly two hours for the room to warm up after I closed it.
The cleanliness of the room was another major letdown. The bed sheets were dirty, with visible stains and a hair on the pillow, making me doubt whether the linens had even been changed. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the Premier Inn brand.
To add to the frustration, the water pressure in the bathroom tap was abysmal, making it inconvenient to use.
In the morning, I reported these issues to the receptionist as I was leaving in a rush for work. Unfortunately, her lack of interest was astonishing – she acted as though this was expected, which only added to my disappointment.
I have images and videos documenting all of these issues, and this was truly the worst Premier Inn experience I have ever had. As someone who has stayed at numerous Premier Inns across the UK, I have always trusted the brand to deliver quality, but this stay has completely shattered that trust.
I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to address the issues at this location. The state of the rooms, cleanliness, and customer service need urgent attention. I am deeply dissatisfied and expected much better from Premier...
Read moreDuring our recent stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service, and we simply have to give credit where it's due. Jo, who was working at the breakfast restaurant, made our mornings so much brighter. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with such warmth and energy, making us feel right at home. She went out of her way to make sure our toddler had everything she needed, even offering a high chair without us having to ask and sharing some great recommendations for kid-friendly items on the menu. Jo's kindness truly set the tone for a wonderful start to each day.
And then there's Brian at the hotel reception—what a gem! From the moment we arrived, his friendly demeanor and genuine willingness to help stood out. He made the check-in process smooth and even went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay with a toddler. Brian's knowledge of the area and thoughtful tips made exploring the local spots a breeze. His attention to detail and care made a huge difference in making our experience feel personal and comfortable.
It’s rare to come across people who genuinely seem to enjoy their work and care about the guests, but Jo and Brian both did just that. They made our stay so much more enjoyable, and we're truly grateful for their outstanding service. Thank you,...
Read moreAs a modest working class, contractor grunt I'd stuck with a standard room through the winter months and pay the £3 tinterweb upgrade. Come the winter time say- Oct/Nov onwards then I could consider the xtra £30 a night for a constant but very...dawdly? Slow, reticent and reluctant internet connection, decent air con and heating a fridge, coffee machine (4pods which can be topped up at reception) 2 chocs and a pod coffee machine. Premier rooms also have an ironing board & iron & a hairdryer & roll of toilet paper...real rolled paper like the kind of stuff we are trusted to use at home. I'm not talking of the single sheet prison type paper dispensers. Gone are championship twister playing toilet paper dispenser slots set at 180° from your comfortable seated position. Here we are treated like adults! Rooms are standard. Staff are always nice to chat to and professional. Hot Water is tepid and the showered are pretty lame. Internet is slow. Worth the extra money for a plus room?
In my opinion.... Nah
An enjoyable hotel? Hahahaha , just like all premier Inns.... it's a premier Inn.. soulless, Nihilistic, Tedious and dull hotel/ bar/ Restaurant and menu.. FFS I hate that FCKN menu.. Whitbread make shocking cheap sh!te for food..don't eat here, you can find a better menu...
