The staff here - bar staff, waitresses and waiters, managers - are so helpful and generally lovely. Yet every time I have been I've seen a customer giving them hassle about something or other, mostly in the children's section. The staff take it, deal with it, and are still individually kind and helpful to the next customer, despite them probably being under a lot of stress. Supply issues are not staff's fault!! They are putting up with some rubbish from the public and still being so decent to everyone, while doing some hard-core multitasking, especially during busy times and in a noisy environment (specifically thinking of the kids' play area here - it IS noisy, but the kids seem to love it. Take your ear plugs if youre noise sensitive though). The play areas, indoor and out, are great for kids. There are safety doors between the indoor and outdoor so little ones can't escape easily. You get two hour access to the indoor play area for £3.50 per child, the outdoor area is free to use if you're a customer. It's well contained and seems to occupy the kids for the full two hours.

You can get 2 meals for £9 before 6pm and they're a decent size. I think people moaning are forgetting that they're paying £4.50 for a meal.

It's a good place to tire out the kids where they can just get on with having fun, and the staff are really, genuinely nice. Shame about some of...

We visited on a Saturday at 5pm. Football had been on and the car park is clearly abused by football fans leaving very little parking for anyone else. We finally got parked and entered the pub which was very busy.

Despite how busy it was, we were seated by a cheery gentleman who gave us all the information we needed. There was a queue to order food but we were served fairly quickly and advised of a half hour wait for food.

My partner was disappointed with his drink, a very overpriced Barrs can of cream soda served with a glass of ice, the drinks menu stated this came with strawberries but he didn’t get any.

After around a 45 minute wait, mainly spent listening to someone’s toddler scream the place down, the cheery gentleman returned to let us know our meal was next to come from the kitchen, this was a nice touch.

The food was amazing. Probably the best pub grub we have had. Everything was hot, steak cooked exactly as requested, we really enjoyed it. We were checked on by the cheery gentleman, who was clearly very busy, but didn’t show any stress.

We had booked in advance and used a voucher found online for 50% off mains on a Saturday. Not sure how easy it would have been to get seated without pre booking.

The pub had a nice atmosphere, was warm and welcoming, good food, pleasant staff, can’t...

Very disappointed at drinks having run out on machine, we were moved to a better table by manager which was fine. Husband stood to order our meal along with my daughter and her friend. There order s were taken and someone jumped in front of husband, this is where the member of staff should have said exuse me this genteleman was before you. by time he was sorte it meant out meal was over 15 mins later than rest of table, I ordered steak which was not available either, so hubby changed it for another ribey at no extra cost. I arrived, but came as a large mixed grill,, so asked to have it changed, another 12 -15 min wait, the manager was pleasant but did not offer complinantary drinks or free puddings. By time food came I was past eating it and the steak that was supposed to be a better cut was fatty. Asked a member of staff to speak to manager to see if wee could get somethinf free or discount said she was not availble and was nippy. Not impressed as wee had not food at the bowiling with the children, then the next place we went to had power cut so were looking forward to getting sat down to a lovley meal . Very dissapointed. Some of the young staff were lovely nbut no one aplogised to us re late meals or lack of drinks. Carolyn...

A last minute meet up with the bestie. We chose this location as it's conveniently situated for both of us. We booked a table to make sure we could enjoy a bite to eat as well as a long overdue natter. The menu is reasonably priced with a good range to choose from. We opted for the lasagne and posh pop. We ended up at the bar to the front after our meal whilst staff made up the tables for breakfast. The facilities were clean, and posters still reminded everyone of the risks of transmitting covid. There's a car park, outdoor seating and a children's playground. It's also on a bus route with a stop outside on the Warwick Road side. Just a mile off the M6, so good for meeting up without being in the city.

I would recommend. I've been on and off staying at Carlisle Central, using Lakeland Brewers Fare for breakfast. Staff, are so helpful, no miserable faces and take time to help you. Shout out to Karen and her fellow colleagues. Karen really makes you welcome for breakfast at the same time making sure you have everything you need or want. It's the right atmosphere at 6:30am when breakfast starts. Food is always great quality, plenty to choose from. One of those coffee machines that can make latte's and more. I've not been to the evening restaurant, however it's always busy which is a good sign.

Situated next to the Premier Inn it's a great place to enjoy a Sunday Carvery or an all you can eat breakfast You can reserve a seat or just turn up for either.Sunday Carvery is noon till 6pm and was excellent value, served by friendly staff. The staff keep the place clean and clear the tables, unlike Wetherspoons !.The bar has a good range of drinks and there's plenty of outside benches, though the interior is tastefully decorated. Its family friendly with a play area for children around the side. Highly recommend and carvery was as delicious and good value for money.
