It’s a great place! unfortunately I’m 3 hours away so I can’t be a local or put 5 stars for location as it’s right near a large main road but despite this the food was great I ordered a pulled pork bbq burger, I would’ve been more chuffed with an extra onion ring rather than just two but that’s because I’m greedy 🐷, presentation again good but would be better if I had a skewer (or similar) to hold my burger together and maybe put the onion rings on top of the burger bun around the skewer if that makes sense? The pulled pork was probably the best I’ve had and I’m very particular about texture, richness and sauciness of it so five stars for that, the brioche bun was perfect, little too much mayo and not enough lettuce but then again that’s just my preference as I’m particular.
The interior is beautiful, like an industrial, modern, stone vibe with lovely cozy colours with comforting mix match materials that are just a ‘chefs kiss’.
The staff, lovely, they are extremely friendly and the owner/manager allowed me to choose my own table as I got there pretty early and made me feel comfortable immediately exchanging friendly conversation while discussing about solo travelling.
Pricing of the food was pretty good too they really took into consideration quality and quantity it certainly filled a hole not too much and not too little; I didn’t end up having a dessert as I felt the main was a great amount to keep me going the rest of the day.
Overall it was a great experience and if I ever come this way again for a road trip I’ll be sure to pop by and hopefully stay the night as it’s a lovely nook in the area.
All their personalities were great and I didn’t feel judged atall, I could all hear them talking about the prepping for events but didn’t sound strict or stuck up which from experience can often be seen in hospitality, I feel I could probably trust them all enough with my life just by their greetings, manners and positive demina.
Thanks so much you lot for being so welcoming to me especially as a lone traveller and I really do hope to visit again!
Until next time...
Read moreNot entirely the hotels fault but I made a reservation on booking.com which ended up being a day out from what we actually required. It took me three days to speak to the hotel - booking.com put me through a cal centre, a AI assistant and then a real person, they said speak to the hotel. I left several messages for the hotel when I eventually got to speak to them they said speak to booking.com. All I wanted to do was change the date from the 15th to the 14th after almost a week the hotel said speak to booking.com or we can do a room but it’s double the price!! Needless to say I cancelled the booking and booking.com then told me it was a non refundable payment due to the special rate given when I booked it. So as I say not entirely the hotels fault but quite frankly they did nothing to help us change it and give us an opportunity to stay and experience the hotel. I won’t be using booking.com ever again and I won’t ever book a room or table...
Read moreWe stayed just one night (Saturday) whilst visiting our grandaughter in Loughborough Uni. The receptionist was lovely, really interacted well with us and offered us a different room as she saw that I was having difficulties, just being out of hospital after an operation. (She came from Leicester and had two children). The room was spotlessly clean, just a little souless. The bathroom, again a little dated but absolutely sparkling. The only problem we had was the shower, over the bath. The enamel was cracked and damaged by the shower control and the shower control didn't work, making a loud whine the whole time it was used. Dinner, that evening was satisfactory, a good steak and my husband enjoyed his apple and blackberry crumble. The cooked breakfast next day was very dry and overcooked. However, considering the low price we had paid, we were very satisfied with what we got. Again, a heads up to the...
