Our Christmas dinner! For which we should have paid £89. Initially we were unable to find someone to show us our seats. I had to chase staff around in order to do this. Starter arrived which was fine and fairly prompt. However the main course I had to chase up twice, as we had been waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, by this time. When it arrived it was hugely disappointing to say the least. We all ordered the Salmon Wellington. One of mine only had any sort of filling. There were No vegetables of any description. I then googled the menu, as I sat at the table, to ascertain what we should be receiving. Apparently seasonal vegetables! Including red pickled cabbage ( btw which never arrived) and potatoes. After some 15 minutes during which time one of my sons had eaten his food, I asked where the vegetables were? Apparently they had been given to another table, so we had to wait again whilst our main courses were getting cold on the table.. The vegetables eventually arrived., some 20 minutes after the main course had been served. Poorly cooked, as had been the main meal. The potatoes arrived even later!!! At least 10 minutes after the vegetables....ie 30 minutes after the main course. I wanted a stress free Christmas dinner for myself and my sons. By now I had become very upset because this was anything but.... I hate to leave negative reviews but our experience was nothing but appalling. We were due to pay £89 per meal, which i was happy to do so, had the meal been worth it. In the end the manager, who was aware of our most unhappy experience only charged me the deposit paid which was £60. The only parts of this meal worth paying for were the starter and sweet, so even £60 that I paid did not represent value for money. Furthermore our Christmas meal/ day was ruined. I would not want anyone to endure the experience that we had on what should have been a special occasion.

I am honestly offended with the audacity this place has to charge the prices that they do. Booked a Father’s Day meal here, as I have been here a handful of times in the past and throughly enjoyed it. I don’t know what’s happened? New ownership, maybe? I’m not sure. But it was the biggest disappointment of a meal I’ve ever experienced. I came for the Sunday dinner - which reserved 40% of the space on the Father’s Day menu, to then be told they were not serving Sunday dinner as they had ran out of the that, which left us with very little options to eat. I rang the place an hour upon arrival and there was no mention of this. We was then told that we would be compensated for this. By that they meant knocking off the £20 deposit of our food. Isn’t that how deposits work anyway? Soon would we then discover, they clearly hadn’t prepared for Father’s Day ,whatsoever. Not only did they not have Sunday dinner on a Sunday but they didn’t have the drink we ordered, or the pasta sauce for the child’s meals (which they offered to substitute with ketchup… KETCHUP!). They didn’t let us know about this until the adults meal were on the table, leaving our child eating on her own for dinner and for dessert as they forgot to add her dessert to the order until we pointed it out. And to top it off - the food was embarrassing. This review is already getting long so I’ll attach photos for you to make up your own mind. Don’t forgot the Sirloin steak with stuff and turf would cost you £19.

A nice experience at the Fieldhead, a lovely atmosphere, spacious and clean pub, nice and friendly staff, good menu of food and drinks, decent price. If you have a Blue Light card, do get 20% off on food. We had a lovely meal in the afternoon, the main we had was slightly undercooked, but the taste was amazing, we did give feedback, no hard feelings and still happy to give 5 stars ⭐️ Plenty of free parking spaces, it’s a hotel there too. Will definitely go back soon.

The field head restaurant gave some appalling service tonight. We booked a table we were sat down and just totally left, other people arrived after us and were served straight away. We ended up having to go to the bar to order as no one had come over after 20mins or even whilst my partner was waiting in the queue behind those for drinks only for 15mins. while at the bar we were informed the wait was 1 hour for food but this wasn’t told to us as we sat down and wasn’t told until we had paid. We actually witnessed at least 2 other tables who had to go to the bar themselves to order as it felt the whole corners was just ignored despite it being table service. When the food arrived I had my burger which wasn’t great quality to be honest and the waiter clearly knew they hadn’t served us, as he quickly rushed off without saying anything and to talk to his line manager, my partner ordered a lasagne but by the time it arrived I had finished my meal which again is not acceptable and quite clearly had just been heated up. Again the member of staff just placed it on the table and walked off without saying anything at all. The overall experience is absolutely terrible and I would advise not to try this restaurant if you want to avoid...
