Service was not good from the blonde hair waitress on sat Jun 25th very inattentive we waited 2 hours to get done, there with 3 of us. Waited 45 mins for a pizza, burger, and another burger to come out when the place wasn't busy. The food defiantly was not fresh most defiantly frozen. She threw a temper tantrum about the card machine not working in front of another customer. We decided to get desert see if they was going to be good unlike the food and it was obvious that it came from Asda the waffles and ice cream as we buy them for our daughter. We then had to wait another 30 mins for our bill even though she kept passing by looking at us finished with no drinks, plates nothing on our table we had to ask the manager guy I assume he was for our check. £57 for 3 of us defiantly was not worth it at all. Atleast get attentive waitress that does her job well and happy. And some fresh food. No need to wait 2 hours in a PUB to get done start to finish which wasn't us just eating this long took that long for food, drinks, ordering, desert , check that it was just rediculous. Could be a good little pub instead they serve gross not fresh food and hire a waitress that clearly isnt even attentive with her job. Even other tables near us looked very frustrated with it as they where also waiting for there check for like 30 mins after they finished eating also.

It’s a warm welcoming pub in an easy to get to location, with free off road parking which including disabled parking spaces. Decoration is a mixture of traditional and modern, with outside sittings, different parts of the pub give different atmosphere, great place to get together for any occasions. Half way the pub has steps which has warning stickers and labels but still find it a little dangerous with holding drinks and with children and /or elderly, but there are plenty tablets and seats before u get to the steps areas. Toilets are upstairs, not sure if any disabled toilet(s) downstairs?? Good and drink menus are decent, big plates and yummy food, have abit of everything for everyone including vegan menu, as I’m not a vegan, so can’t comment on the menu and food. Very little staff on the night we went (Tuesday) the waitress was really friendly, polite helpful and good 👍🏻 cared for all our needs. Pub these days closes quite early, we were told 2130, but we stayed until 2200 as it was quite a big get together night out. One of the most important things is it’s a dog friendly pub, has water bowls and biscuits for dogs. Overall, it’s a lovely pub 👍🏻

Me and my partner went here on a Thursday evening it was quiet which was nice for me as I do lack confidence in going out for a meal. We booked online which was easy. The drinks we asked for arrived quick but not how we asked for them as I got a different tonic to what I asked and my partner got a bottle of full fat coke rather than diet coke and in a glass bottle instead of just a glass. We asked to move tables as we were placed on the end next to the waitresses desk/till and there were 2-3 girls just standing around waiting for orders etc and this made me feel uncomfortable as I felt as I was being watched and in the way of their privately conversation. Another waitress was back and forth helping us move tables and made sure we are comfortable The food was tasty, warm and served quick. They had a variety of starters, mains, deserts, drinks, children's, vegan and vegetarian options. They also have offers on during the week which I have attached for you. Toilets are available. I would say wheelchair and pushchair accessible however the floor levels change and feel on an angle. Outside seating available. Parking outside

This place ONLY deserves one star for the decor.

I booked a christmas meal in november for a party of 7 plus two children. Paid £40 in advance to secure and was very much looking forward to treating my team as part of all their work throughout the year.

I am embrassed and upset for what actually occured that evening.

We booked a table for a christmas meal for my team, reservation at 4pm.

We arrived at 4.05pm and was hurried to order food at 4.30pm as was told that our table was only given to us for 3hours (this was not made aware to me at time of booking).

Starters came out within 2mins of us sitting down and bread was stale. Mains came out and the salmon was grey in colour. It was extremely dry not tasty at all and unpleasant to eat. The bread and salmon was addressed at each point they were served to us.

The bread we were given the option to replace and did so. No option for replacing the salmon was given.

I stated the salmon was of poor quality and unsatisafactory to the waiting staff when they asked if there were any issues. Two waiting staff came at different times to ask and the same answer was given on two occassions but still no option to replace were given to us.

As no options were given to us and the salmon dish made up the majority of the parties main meals and in view of the fact we were hurried to eat so the table could be vacated at 7pm (as we were told on arrival) we said we would address the issue at the end of the meal with the manager. The party size and us hosting a meal to our employees being a factor.

Puddings arrived and one of the puddings had a hair at the base of the dish. Again this was pointed out to the waiting staff. The pudding was taken away and a replacement refused.

Despite us asking to address these issues at the end of meal. The manager abruptly and rudely interrupted our team's dining experience and we were pressed to discuss the matter there and then. The manager stated if we did not leave the table to discuss with him at the time that he may not be available for us when we came to settling our bill at the end of the evening to address the issues we had raised during the meal.

We had left our guests unattended at the table which was bad manners to discuss with the manager. During this discussion we were informed that the reason the salmon was dry was because it had been pre- prepared, then heated at 4pm then removed again in view of us seating just after 4pm then re heated again to be served. In any case, salmon if fresh would still not taste as dry and look grey in colouration. This was the in agreement by all in the party. We were also told that none of the kitchen or waiting staff had brown hair the size of the one in the pudding.

I was lost for words with the level of professionalism with the responses from the manager.

We tried to reasonably address the issues with the manager who was very intimidating and rude to us both in handling this matter. We felt that the meal billing should of removed for the main 4 salmon meals served and the one pudding with the hair in it or, at the very least be heavily discounted since all meals were part of a 2 course or 3 course dining experience.

The managers attitude became confrontational and statements became personal and judgemental and so the police were called.

The manager was non negotiable and point blank refused taking any of my money when in police company.

The matter in the end has been given a crime reference number.

All i can say is for those of you who have booked a christmas meal or any meal for that matter ahead of this review. I would strongly recommend that it be cancelled

As a consumer it is the most appauling level of customer service i have ever in my life...

We stopped here for Sunday lunch half way through a long journey north. First impressions were good. The staff were pleasant and the place itself is very comfortable and welcoming. After ordering our food - 3 meats roast, and the vegetarian "country veg pie", we waited 45 minutes for our food, even though the place wasn't that busy. Our food was brought out, and looked edible. I cut into the "country veg pie" to discover mince and onion. We sent it back, obviously. The young lady came back with a box of frozen Linda McCartney Vegan Pies and told that what it was. The only "veg" in it was a small amount of onion. Had I known it was a vegan pie, I wouldn't have bothered, as I've bought those pies myself, and don't like them. I was asked if I wanted to change it, but the thought of waiting another 45 minutes put me off, so I decided to just make do. The seasonal veg was mediocre at best. The mash wasn't home made, the "duck fat roasted" potatoes were soggy and the cabbage on my plate was mainly stalk. My husband's wasn't much better. The sausage he had on his plate looked like it had been cooked on a radiator and cold in the middle. We decided to just cut our losses and left most of our food. My hubby went to the loo, before going to pay and I went and waited outside in the car. Whilst waiting in the car, two staff members came running out, assuming we had done a runner! Both were rather red faced when they realised he had paid when he came out into the car park followed by another member of staff signalling to them that he had actually paid! Almost £40 for a below par Sunday lunch. The management need to revise their descriptions of their vegetarian options and make sure they are accurately described, and I also recommend not charging 14 quid for a frozen Linda McCartney pie. The only positive I can give is that the beer garden was lovely and well provided for...

What a shame. The pub looks beautiful outside and was well decorated inside so I was extremely looking forward to our Christmas party. However, when we arrived we were rushed to our seats and told that we had to hurry and eat as we needed to vacate our table by 7pm. As soon as our bums hit the chairs our starters arrived, however the waiting staff were unable to identify dishes they were serving. The feeling of "fast food" didn't stop there... waiting staff hovered about cleaning up every item we had finished with - almost on an uncomfortable level. Our conversations endlessly being interrupted with "can we just grab this?" etc. The bread on my starter was stale, and my partner's prawns were like rubber, then the salmon mains came out a dull grey colour tinge that you don't get when they are fresh. This was mentioned on each and every occasion we were asked "how is your food?" But our party organiser wasn't comfortable spoiling the Christmas spirit by having a conversation with the manager during our meal. She asked if we could sort it out afterwards. Then for the duration of the meal we were continually being harassed by waiting staff to clear up. As soon as the last dessert mouthful was gulped... the manager appeared behind the table in such a rude and confrontational way that I was quite taken aback. "Can I help?" he bellowed abruptly... no introduction, no "excuse me", just a rude intrusion, and while we were still enjoying the table we had actually paid for until 7pm. This was just after 6.30pm so I can only assume that he was intent on ruining our party. He then preceded to talk over our friends and acted in a very obtuse, rude and quite threatening manner. I can only describe his customer service skills as severely lacking. What a shame, what could have been such a wonderful meal...
