All the staff, from those who clean the rooms to the reception staff are all very courteous, helpful and accomodating. They have gifts you can purchase, a lovely bar and restaurant area, breakfast restaurant, and room service is available also. The reception area has a lovely lounge area. They are dog friendly, but they aren't of course permitted in the restaurant area's so we sat in the reception lounge area, which was lovely and the staff ensured we were well taken care of. There is a spa area but we didn't get the chance to enjoy it. There is a newsagent right nearby should you need anything, but we didn't need to go there. Ample parking spaces and a lovely kept front garden . There is a location where you can let you dog go off the lead, but we didn't use it. There are plenty of beautiful places to walk to, especially the beach, which you can see standing at the path Infront of the hotel. It is not far to walk to the beach, but as you get closer there is a section that has a slope down and they have a rail to assist those in need. There is a lovely welcome pack for dogs which is a fabulous touch and it was appreciated. Lovely spread for breakfast and items can be ordered too. I highly recommend their burgers and sticky toffee pudding. In the reception area there are many useful brochures to help which I was really impressed with. If you don't want to drive around, which can be difficult during busy times, you can get a bus into town which is right near the hotel, dogs permitted and at no cost, and the return bus stop is only across the road. When using the bus you need the exact change, so if you don't have any the newsagent maybe useful. In town there are beautiful gardens, historical places everywhere, so many great views and lots of shops. There is a great tour bus that you can buy a hop on and off at anytime, dogs are permitted at no extra charge. It comes with a half open top upstairs, I strongly recommend to use to visit all the wonderful attractions and learn so much. You are provided with a pair of new earphones so you can listen to a tour guide telling you all about the great attractions. It takes you to all the key places and is so pleasant, rather than trying to find parking spaces or find how to get to places. There are taxi firms which provide a great service we found, and we had no issues with having a dog with us. Dogs aren't permitted inside quite a few places, such as the castle. When looking for places to eat and drink, there are many locations that you can take your dog but in outside seating only, even Jamie Oliver's restaurant. There are many lovely places that you can go to get a drink etc, we stumbled across an historical place where a man was hung which I thought was a lovely tribute. There are volcanoes there which I found amazing. By the castle there are lots of gift shops for souvenirs and they all charge the same price for items and let our dog inside most of them. There are plenty of great beautiful walks, for those who enjoy a challenge will love what's on offer. All the locals are very friendly and helpful. You need at least several days to explore and still you couldn't do everything. The streets and gardens are well kept and clean, which surprised me considering all the large numbers of...

I become really sick directly after 1st day of breakfast because of food poisoning. I think it was the haggis. my stomach started rumbling immediately after eating the haggis. Please watch out for food poisoning at this hotel. I only dared to eat toast, jam and fruit the next day after the food poisoning. If you like croissants, this hotel isn't a option for you, the croissants are very chewy and not crunchy as they should.
At arrival we let the reception know we would like breakfast for every day at 7:45. That was ok and she wrote it down on the booking paper she had. The first morning has gone well. The second morning the breakfastlady told us that there was no breakfast reservation. She maked it our problem en she said we had to wait because there was no table available. While only half of the breakfastroom tables was filled, so that was ridiculous. She was not helping in any way and was very rude to make it our problem. We went to the reception and the reception was giving us other options for take away breakfast. Also she was making it our problem instead of hers. The reception maked a big mistake of not planning us in for breakfast. Finally after a while the breakfastlady came to the reception and told us she had a table for half an hour and we had to hurry up with dinner. Nice that we had a table but horrible that she told us we had to rush. So remember don't revervate all the breakfast times at once. The reception isn't smart enough to handle that. Just go every day to the reception for the breakfast reservation for the morning.
The shower in the room is terrible. The shower had a water saving shower head. The water goes enormous slow. So you instead of taking a 5 minute shower, you need 15 minutes to get all the soap out of your hair and body. I still don't get water saving shower heads, it don't save water because you need more time. So the hotel takes a lot of time of your travel because they choose the "water saving" option.
The ventilator in the bathroom is making so much noice. It's like an airplane that takes off. And it runs a while after switching the light off. So be ready for a little less sleep when you have to go to the bathroom at night and had to wait for the fan to go off.
The beds are horrible. You feel the metal rings in...
Read moreRoom 403 was full of problems not worth the money paid for. The main bed in the room had bedsheets with a massive urine stain in the bedsheet base. The topper underneath had blood stains on it. This was a big shock to see. The room hardly had any cold water. Not from the sink or the bath taps. Not ideal when you have been on a journey that was six hours long in a hot and sweaty car and when you arrive you want to have a shower. Cold water coming out very little. Only hot water coming out extremely dangerous easy to get burnt (and we did. The duty manager was called to sort this out even after he left the water still came out hot. When I did shower the air vent didn’t work. Couldn’t even see yourself wash with all the hot steam in the air. No marks on the shower board to show hot or cold or even to turn off. Members of my group decided not to shower or wash because of it. The room wasn't cheap for the 2 nts (£450) Seeing the carpet worn out and marked this doesn't reflect on the price for what you're paying for the room.
Next day up early had plans left the notice for the maid to change the beds and empty the bin. When we came back that evening our beds hadn't been changed, and the bin was still full and not emptied. We all needed a shower however you guessed it NO COLD WATER. Called manager and asked why this room was full of issues. His answer was, I have no idea the room was like this. Was able to be moved to another room 100% better. Should have had this in the first place. Was offered a free breakfast by this time we couldn’t wait to get out of there. The hotel let us all down the experience of our stay...
