My mother-in-law was treated terribly by staff at this store last week. She lives in Glasgow, but was in Edinburgh to visit her own mother. She already has some furniture in her house from The Range and wanted one more unit to match. Upon visiting the Edinburgh store, she found the unit and asked the salesperson for help.
She asked if the item could be checked for availability at the Glasgow store and reserved for her there if it was available. "No, we can't do that," she was told.
Well, could she pay for the item here and collect it in Glasgow? "No, we can't do that."
So how about she opens up the website on her phone, and the sales person helps her find the correct item so she can then purchase it herself? "No, we can't do that."
Her brother was with her and demanded to see the manager, who was equally as obstructive, citing "data protection" as the reason they couldn't "transfer customer data" between stores. This is complete and utter nonsense, especially with the third and final option of my mother in law using her own phone to place the order! The only option they offered her was to purchase the item in store and pay £80 (more than the cost of the unit) to have it delivered.
My mother in law has had two strokes, struggles to walk and suffers greatly when stressed resulting in panic attacks and problems with her speech. She was in a terrible state after dealing with the obstructive, ill-educated staff. Either Edinburgh staff from management down simply don't want to lose a sale to another branch or they seriously need to be educated on the new GDPR legislation, as they are obviously completely ignorant in matters of data protection.
Suffice to say that we are disgusted and will never return to the Edinburgh store, nor will we recommend it to anyone. Family members ended up travelling to Glasgow to help her purchase the item there instead, where staff were...well, as they should be....

In addition to the excellent customer service provided by Scott, The Range itself offers a wide variety of high-quality products at competitive prices.
From home decor to gardening supplies, the store has something for everyone.

I viewed a picnic table set that I wanted to purchase and approached a member of staff who was fixing a display unit to enquire where it would be in store as I'd only seen the 2 display unit s one by the entrance the other by the cafe. As soon as I said hello her immediate response was not to say hello back it was to say I'm busy with another customer and walk off ( keep in mind she was fixing a display when I approached with no other customers in view ) I feel she could of easily just said hi back and pointed me in the direction of the item so naturally I put my 450 pound basket down ( paints , pool, spa extra s , sllush puppy machine and a few other items excluding the table as I never did find it) and left.
Trying to phone the store to enquire about the table yielded 0 results as I tried for 30 minutes with no one picking up. Might add management was no where near in sight. Avoid this place its really not a pleasant...
