Wonderful warm welcome. Absolutely everything was perfect. Spotless, warm, inviting, amazing nights sleep and the breakfast and cakes are just the best. Karen & Paul are the perfect hosts. A lovely email sent before arrival for recommendations for dinner locally. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

My family and I have just had a strange and I would say rather upsetting experience while having coffee and cake at Badgers Hall Chipping Campden. We were initially greeted warmly and sat down by a friendly female member of staff. It is a very quaint and cosy place and we were excited to have found it. We were served some delicious looking cakes and drinks. Trouble started though when several wasps started circling around us especially the table where my mum, a lady in her sixties, and myself were sat. In hindsight the syrupy treacle tart slice that we had ordered didn't make matters better. There were quite a few of them and my mum mentioned it to the waitress who was a different member of staff than the kind lady who had initially greeted us. Her response was that there was really nothing to do about that at this time of year but my mum suggested that it was helpful to have a spray bottle of water nearby and give the wasps a mist with it when they got too annoying. Here is the thing I really had a problem with; the lady said she could not be expected to stand around all day spraying away the wasps. No indeed not, and that is not what we had suggested. It seemed to me she tried to be nice but I could feel her annoyance and dislike towards us just under the surface. The cosy atmosphere started to deteriate. The wasps continued to bother my poor mother and she got up and ran away from them and let out a little scream. I felt sorry for her since I could see she could not enjoy her coffee and cake so I asked politely if they perhaps had a table just for my mum and myself inside so we could get away from the wasps. (we were a party of 7 people). The same lady said there were no tables available which was totally fair. What was not fair was the same attitude I was met by again from her, dislike and annoyance. There was by now a very awkward atmosphere. We were next to the kitchen and my cousins daughter noticed one of the female kitchen staff shaking her head at us. After we had left and been able to discuss our collective experience we generally had a feeling that the staff were talking about is behind our back. My mum and I managed to move ourselves to another table outside leaving the treacle tart behind on the original table and we were able to finish our coffee in more or less peace from the wasps. My adult daughter had ordered a coffee with oat milk at the side and still not received it. I dont mind if staff get orders mixed up sometimes but the same lady when reminded about the coffee responded in a cold manner without a smile or apology. This is my much longer edited review of my experience which happened yesterday. Initially I had written a short damming review but I felt like it needed more elaboration so you readers out there dont feel like I'm just some miserable customer hungry for retaliation. Thanks for reading. Especially the staff at the place. I don't know why you disliked us so much, you should treat everyone the same. Be kind to all your...

Today me and my family went to the cafe to have some coffee, tea and cake s we were trying to enjoy our holiday. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely woman who seated us in the garden and took our orders. This is where the kitchen staff came into play. From the moment we were seated int he garden some of the staff working in the kitchen kept on staring which resulted in an awkward atmosphere. The lady who then came out with our orders was friendly to begin with. When my grandma drew her attention to the many wasps that were irritating her, the woman responded arrogantly. She then returned to the kitchen where she started to whisper to the other kitchen staff. They have continued whispering and shaking their heads at us which made us feel really uncomfortable. The kitchen staff also got my order wrong and did not apologise at all. Instead I was given attitude for absolutely no reason. In conclusion. Most of their kitchen staff, bar one woman, were extremely condescending. They completely ruined our day with their unnecessary attitude. We will not be returning or...
