Beautiful home from home to explore the countryside and coast from. The milk barn is beautifully presented and everything you need is there, should you just want to hang around indoors if the weather isn’t great...plenty of space and everything you need if you want to cook in. The garden is lovely to chill out in, enjoy the hot tub and have a barbie if the weathers good...if the weathers not so great, get the log burner on and curl up on one of the comfy sofas with a book or pull out a game (all provided, along with toys in the cupboard for little ones) I’d definitely recommend the in house chef catering by Katie and Mark....amazing food....my only regret is that I would have booked a couple more nights if I’d known how good it would be 😁 . If you’re eating out, the recommended list of pubs/ restaurants are great....we tried Tytherleigh Arms and Jack in the Green....both fantastic food and service. Katie and Mark are excellent hosts and certainly do their best to help you have a great stay....the amazing banana cake left for our arrival was a lovely touch 😋. Can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly make me think twice about jetting off overseas in future...great standard accommodation in a beautiful part of the world x

Truly magical Christmas 2018 spent at the milkshed. Katie and Marks attention to detail is second to none. From welcome pack of mince pies and bubbles to amazing lasagne that made our Christmas eve. Our children 10 and 6 loved the freedom of the grounds and collecting eggs from the chicken they made friends with Katie's children too, who showed them the swing across the brook. The hot tub was fabulous we had a great evening of looking at the stars... Lots to do in the surrounding area, we had a lunch at the pig in combe...the butchers in honiton worth a visit. We visted sidmouth and salcombe beautiful locations. Would highly recommend the milkshed. If you are looking for a relaxing family break this is the one for you.

We have just spent the last week at The Milkshed in Devon and I would recommend to everyone who is visiting Devon. The Milkshed is bright, spacious and the sofas and bed are pure comfort. The facilities inside were modern and sparkling clean. The garden is beautifully maintained and the hot tub was such a treat! Katie and Mark and the perfect hosts and went over and above to help with anything we needed. We arrived to some freshly made scones with jam and cream and a tasty lasagne and crumble in the fridge. On our last night we had Mark cater for us and I would highly recommend this service to anyone who stays… the food some of the tastiest food we’ve had is a very long time. We can’t wait to rebook for next year!

This is our third visit to the Milkshed and as ever we are extremely impressed with the very high standard of accommodation, set in the glorious Devonshire countryside. The property is beautifully furnished and everything is catered for, including buckets and spades to borrow for the beach. There is nothing that the hosts haven't thought of. What lets most properties down of this standard is the comfort of the beds. However, at the Milkshed the beds are luxurious.

Since our last visit there is a coffee machine complete with coffee pods, which means you have no reason even to leave the accommodation. You certainly wouldn't want to miss though the array of beautiful places to visit within a fairly short drive away, including Sidmouth and Lyme Regis. When you return there is a hot tub waiting for you to relax in.

Katie and Mark are outstanding hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. Katie each year puts our online food shop away, so that it is ready for when we arrive, allowing us to start our holiday straight away.

I therefore cannot recommend the Milkshed...

I wrote my first review of The Milkshed after staying here for our honeymoon back in 2018. Seven years later, and five more visits since, I think it’s about time for an update.

The Milkshed has become such a special place for our family over the years, and now truly feels like a home from home. Katie and Mark really have something wonderful here. It’s the most perfect accommodation in such a fantastic location. It’s always immaculately clean, and everything is so well thought out. The grounds are equally as good, and so nice to take a walk around. The views are stunning.

As far as hosts go, Katie and Mark are second to none. They are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is ever too much for them. The kindness they show to our children is unbelievable and does not go unnoticed. We always look forward to seeing them as much as we do our stays.

I could waffle on forever, raving about The Milkshed, but words will never truly do it justice. All I can say is that we’ll never tire of coming here and look forward to our...
