From when we walked in the door to when we left our experience was great hotel was easy to find the gentleman that booked us in was lovely so helpful. When we went into our room there was a teddy put on my bed which my sister had brought to the hotel and asked them to give me and they put it in the room for when we got there. I tried to call down to reception to ask for an iron and couldn't vet through to reception I tried a couple of times and couldn't get no answer then our room got a call from the phone and when I answered there was nothing then I tried to ring down again and as I did there was a knock in the door and it was the nice gent that booked us in and he asked if everything was ok I said yes so he said reception had said that our room was calling reception and I said yes and explained so he apologised for the phone not working so I asked him for an iron and he told me they had an ironing room up on the fourth floor. Would defo recommend the ibis in Gloucester thank you for a pleasant stay in and the bed was nice and comfie only downside but with most hotels only 2 teabags and 4 little pots of milk. But that is all hotels where I have stayed I'm sure if I asked for more they would of...
Read moreI walked in whilst in the area, thinking this might be a good place to work for a couple of hours. On walking in through their lobby, I was confronted by two aggressive individuals, completely unidentified by any badges or indication that they worked for Ibis. They squared up to me a few inches from my face in an extremely threatening fashion. They subsequently identified themselves as “security” but gave no explanation as to their behaviour or why they were trying to buffet me out of the building. Once outside they were joined by a very young member of staff, this time wearing a tee shirt and Ibis badge, but they offered no apology as to why I had been treated in this unprofessional and threatening manner, even referring to me as “mate”. What is this place? It seems to have been taken over as some kind of accommodation for migrants, but there is no signage to indicate that the hotel isn’t open to the public. Frankly my experience was extremely disturbing and has left me very...
Read moreCheck in was quick and efficient. Staff are very friendly, helpful and willing to help with a smile. The rooms are small but adequate. There is iron in the the room but there is an ironing room on the 4th floor. The shower/wc pod are strange but practical. Shower is nice and hot and powerful. According the the room facilities brochure, you use the onscreen service to book a wake up call.this must be in some hotels from the chain, in this one you have to ring to book it. Check out time is very good, they allow you up to midday to check out. Housekeeping are early workers so hang a DND sign on the door if you are sleeping in. The food is quite good actually. Dinner was a la carte. We opted for the half board stay so dinner was a 2 course meal with a drink if your choice, breakfast was buffet with a choice of continental or full English. All in all a good experience and will definately...
