Just returned from a long overdue break with good friends staying in the picturesque town of Fishguard at the Abergwaun Cottage Holiday Home, and I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays I’ve had in a long time. The home is amazingly appointed, recently refurbished, spotlessly clean, and filled with lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring the best of Pembrokeshire and is only a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful harbourside and scenic walks with stunning views along the coastal path. The home itself is ideally placed in the centre of Fishguard with its pubs, restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. We would thoroughly recommend the Abergwaun Hotel (next door) where we had a first-class meal in a warm and welcoming environment. One of the highlights for us (and our golden retriever!) was the incredibly handy and spacious boot room. After long walks along the coast, it was the perfect space to towel off our wet and (very) smelly dog, without bringing all the mess into the main living areas. A practical feature that really made a difference. Will definitely recommend and hope to...
Read moreWe stayed at Abergwaun Cottage with a group of four families in October. The property is easy to find in the centre of Fishguard, there is a loading bay directly outside and a public car park is a five minute walk.
The entertaining spaces are incredible with a very social kitchen and amazing dining table which seats 16. There is a log burner in the living room. With four families staying it was a great place to socialise and also provided a bit of space to chill out. We never felt cramped.
Each of the bedrooms are a good size and most are on suite. The cinema room doubles as another bedroom and the kids had a wail of a time in there! The cottage is tastefully decorated with artworks from Pembrokeshire.
Pembrokeshire is a lovely part of the country. The property is walking distance to the coast and has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants within easy reach. We took a trip out to St David’s point which was about 20 minutes drive and had a great clifftop walk.
Would recommend Abergwaun Cottage for either a group of friends or as a great base for a group of families and...
Read moreWe had s long weekend with friends (8 adults) in March 2025.
The weather was sunny with a cold northerly wind. The cottage is fabulous, spacious, well equipped and ideal for groups of friends or large families. Our bedroom was plenty big enough and our ensuite shower room was excellent. The bed was comfy and pillows perfect for a great night's sleep. The kitchen and dining room are huge and perfect for socialising. We had a great laugh! The lounge and cinema room provide ample entertainment for youngsters if required. The cottage is in a perfect location next to shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a Coop supermarket within 300 yards. We dined in the Abergwaurn Hotel restaurant, which has an excellent reputation, and were extremely satisfied with the food and service. Delicious! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this cottage to anyone, and would say it is the largest cottage we have stayed in with the best facilities.
Thank you so much for a...
