Very overpriced for condition of the place, looks grubby & dirty and very outdated. Carpet was all well worn out to the point there was no carpet left on some parts of the stairs, bathroom floor tiles are badly needing replaced as broken, door on the hallway was broken on arrival and whole wood frame came right off when door opened as it was only placed in with 2 loose screws which we told the owner about straight away but now getting accused of us doing it and threatened with a bill when it was already broken in first place and had been put back on with 2 loose screws, paintwork needs redone as flaky and patchy, fridge wasn’t very clean and old milk left inside on arrival, beds very noisy and very uncomfortable to the point it sounds like it’s on its last legs, squeaky floorboards and pictures are all nothing like the real place. I stayed here with my mum and sister, and I would not do so again, nor recommend it. It needs a lot of TLC. Feels like a very slapdash youth hostel. Needs a deep clean. Despite having two doubles and one single bed in our section there were only two mugs, plus another chipped one, yet huges piles of random plates. TV didn't work. Only two car parking spaces which aren't that easy to get in or out of. Otherwise you're parked on the road. No shops in a walkable distance if you arrive in the evening. Sponge in the kitchen was really gross. Corkscrew broken. Take anything and everything with you if you insist on staying here. Yfor the cost of a meal for two and drinks at an eatery on nearby Kilmarnock Rd, you get overnight accommodation here. Off road parking, as promised. A review from 8 months ago speaks of shabby entrance and mucky carpet on the landing, that's not changed. A photo of room 5 from 3 years ago, zigzag wallpaper included, shows the decor hasn't changed. The facilities; glasses etc, shower, kitchenette, haven't changed. The bed is soft, the bedding smells of fabric softener. The windows are misted. The TV works on apps and the batteries are fading in the remote BUT it's basic, in the right location and functional.
