Liked: The toilet and shower area is clean. It was a peaceful night. Electric hook up good.

Disliked: I had a very unwelcoming greeting. I arrived at 6.30pm, the emails that I had received from pitch up said that arrivals were between 1pm and 8pm. There was a guy around reception and when I pulled up he just stared at me making me feel uncomfortable. I said hi and explained that I had a pitch and he just stared at me. He was were rude and seems very argumentative and when I asked for help he seemed a little sarcastic and rude. When I retrieved my key for the gate he was still watching me, made me feel like an imposter! I asked if he was staff and he said he was the manager. I thought he was very unprofessional and very rude. I later found out he was the maintenance manager, still no need to be rude. I tried to forget about it though! I had paid £52 for one night stay, I just wanted a peaceful night's sleep. I own a micro camper van. When I then parked into my pitch, a gentlemen in a caravan opposite me started shouting questions at me. 'do you have a tent? Are you sleeping in your car? You can't sleep in your car here' omg! I didn't know what I had driven into! Again no introduction to who this random fella was. I asked did he work here and he said he was the site warden. He then continued to ask me questions and asking multiple times if I was staying in a tent even though I said no and I had the door open to my microcamper so he could see my bed in the back.

I have been travelling around Scotland for nearly 2 weeks now and this is the most unwelcoming and intimidating arrival I have had. And to have paid £52 what is a lot more than other campsites. I am a young solo female traveller and for anyone, this kind of welcome is not what you want on you holidays and paying £52 for one night!

I was so shook up by this and shaking, even crying to my mum and dad on the phone about this experience and felt that I didn't get anything back from them. I got a sorry and I'm just doing my job. I asked for a refund and got told no one was trained on how to give refunds. I was told have a beer and relax. The site warden had called their manager and got confirmation I could stay.

Especially when someone is paying £52 for one night, in a small van and not going to use a lot of electricity. The site was also empty! If this is an occuring problem the site needs to sort it out with the booking forums and even maybe send an email to booked guests or even phoning the guests to ensure they are following the site rules and regulations on who can stay here. And this can be done! so many other sites have contacted me with more welcoming information. for this site i didn't receive anything else apart from the information from pitch up.

Would not recommend.

I think it's for more luxurious stay, even though you are getting a standard hard standing pitch with electricity. Bathrooms are very standard too and I couldn't find the waste bins, and didn't feel comfortable to ask or even go looking further around the site for them. Not worth the money.

Oh and no WiFi.

Omg why did I stay here! Don't do the same...

This was a last minute(ish) booking after spending 7 days caravanning in the Lake District. It was presented as a small and quiet site however the winning factor was the log burning hot tub as part of the pitch.

This is a bit more expensive than your standard touring caravan pitch however as it was only for a few nights we took a chance.

We arrived with a child and dog in tow (excuse the pun) and were welcomed warmly by reception staff. We quickly realised how small/quaint the site was with only a handful of touring pitches. The pitch isn’t huge however we were able to fit the pickup, caravan and awning with a squeeze. There is also a square of grass with the pitch also for when the sun decides to appear.

We were approached on set up by a staff member who talked us through the use of the wood burning hot tub. There was also a couple of bags of wood and some fire lighters to get you started. We quickly realised that you will easily burn 1 bag an evening.

Probably because it so quaint and the pitches close together you cannot play music out with your van. We were asked (very politely) to turn ours off at 1730hrs as we had it playing by the hot tub.

The town of Crieff is bigger than I expected and had all your shops (Aldi/B&M) to buy what you need. It’s a short walk (15mins) however if you have young children you do need to cross a busy road with a blind bend.

We also spent a day at the outdoor centre situated at Crieff Hydro. Have a look at their website as pre-booking is advisable and also to be aware of the prices as some are expensive.

Also it is situated on the top of a mountain (I exaggerate) however we walked there and it was a fair trek all uphill….!!!

We will definitely come back however maybe leave the little monsters (2 legged and 4 legged) at home as this site caters more for those who want to chill and relax in beautiful...

Liked: Great setting on the river, easy to find, and Crieff is a lovely town

Disliked: We booked a superior camping pod, with a hot tub, however, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing stay which we cut short by 1 day. The issues we experienced were:

When we arrived, the heating had not been on at all in the pod with a reading of 13 degrees. I would have expected it to have been turned up to at least a slightly higher temperature given the time of year, being around 0 outside. We checked in around 6pm and it took several hours for the pod to reach a comfortable temperature We observed dust and dirt on the floor which we cleaned - would not have expected to do this upon arrival The bathroom had not been properly cleaned - there were other people's hair located around the floor / shower area, and generally not of a clean standard - the pod clearly hadn't been cleaned for at least one occupancy There were empty crisp packets behind the furniture - lack of attention to detail There are several maintenance issues that exist such as: black mould on curtains, dirty coverings around the door, loose door handle on bathroom, dining chairs fixings to be tightened. It seems that either basic maintenance issues are not reported, or there is a reluctance to replace certain goods. Wear and tear is understandable but some of these items have gone beyond this point We can't comment on the hot tub as we did not use, however we were not filled with confidence on the cleanliness

When checking out, I had commented that we were not comfortable to stay any longer and essentially that the pod is grubby and needs attention.

I was informed that the Head of Housekeeping would be notified, and that a manager would contact me. I am still waiting for this contact almost a week after...

Had a fantastic stay for our anniversary, we stayed a week in the Isla Lodge it has a electric hob and oven, microwave and a large fridge/freezer with cutlery, kitchen utensils, plates, cups and glasses and frying pan and baking trays in a pull out drawer under the oven. There's a large sofa bed which sits 3 people and a comfy armchair, a blueray player and a tv in living area and in bedroom. It's got a dining table that sits 4 people. The bedroom has 2 bedside cabinets with lamps, a small cupboard for hanging clothes with a shelf above, a vanity table with mirror and a stool, the bathroom has a full walk in shower with toilet and sink which has drawers where you can put your toiletries and it has toilet roll provided, there's also a handle next to the toilet which you use to open the bathroom window as it's a skylight, the bed was very comfortable and bedding was clean and smelled fresh. The hot tub was on the back deck and was water checked every day by site staff, it was easy to use and we were in it every day it was so relaxing. On the deck you have 4 wooden chairs and a small table and a step of the deck to a bbq, then you have the River Earn at your back door which is your view from the living room. We have all ready booked for next year as it's a super popular place. It has a lovely log burner, you phone the reception and order logs and they deliver them with kindling and firelighters but if you don't want to use it they have heating which you turn on with a thermostat. I highly recommend this holiday park. Ps. It's dog friendly but check your accommodation as some are no dogs allowed.

If I could add minus stars I would. Our lodge had been given away on arrival, and we were put into a filthy different style of lodge, with mould, mildew, broken blinds. We were told to, quote "GO HOME IF YOUR NOT HAPPY" by the extremely rude English owner. Hot tubs are filthy, dilapidated. We were moved the following day, after intervention by hoseasons. Another dirty run down lodge, horrified when we discovered we were sharing our hot tub with brown scum!! Alas too late, clorine left our eyes and skins like test rabbits, (only used briefly) the place had NOT been cleaned. Floors covered in crumbs. Dirty linen. Shower blocked & had to be attended to. Bed was broken. It was supposed to be a birthday treat, we left after 3 days (early) as I had picked up a kidney infection from the dirty hot tub. We sent hoseasons a email, and multiple images. The owner said he tested the water every day. I can put my hand on my heart & swear it was never checked. I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. You need a holiday when you get home to recover. What a horrible experience. Owner is a compulsive liar, and said we had left because of the weather. Absolutely not true. AVOID FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY, these tubs are not cleaned after every occupancy, as per regulations. So you are sitting in, what could potentially be, someone else's body fluids. Revolting. Check further down. He's told other occupants to "GO HOME" before.
