Hawthorn Cottages — Hotel in Great Britain

We only stayed one night here and loved it. They have two different room types; bed and breakfast rooms and a self catering cottage. We stayed in the b&b. Room was smallish and nothing flash but had a very comfortable bed and everything we needed. And breakfast was excellent; cooked to order whatever you wanted. Great hosts.||There were 2 bonuses staying here. Firstly, they have about 20 acres of land and on their front paddock were 2 highland cows. These magnificent cows with their long shaggy hair are so great to see. Secondly, on their property they lease out a restaurant they built to someone else who runs a nice restaurant; typical pub menu and not too expensive so it offered us the chance to walk to dinner.||Would...

I stayed here for a night with the wife and two little ones aged 3&4. Met by a lovely older gentleman who had no idea which cottage we were staying in, got the wrong cottage initially. It turns out we are not staying in a cottage at all it’s a chalet. Although immaculate clean interior we were disappointed as the so called double bed was tiny and extremely uncomfortable. We stayed in the self catering unit 'The Garden Suite'||Best description is 'tired' it needs a good refresh and for the price it needs some decent equipment.||A washing machine but no maiden to dry the clothes "take them to a laundrette" She doesn't like to encourage people to use the washing machine!||I've run self catering for 12 years and in that time I've stayed in countless others - this is the first that didn't offer a teabag never mind a finger of shortbread for the weary traveller!||No sign of Pat Testing and the hoover with the taped cord looked very dodgy...
