Popped into this wee place as recommended by our hostess and it’s was top notch welcomed by the lovely staff ( got to say that because she 6’2 ) ha ha just joking we got treated well and spoiled for choice. The food was all home made and excellent portions starter was spicy chicken wings then struggled with main course chicken haggis mash stack with peppercorns sauce was Amazing then had to top it off with Arran ice cream my colleague had the special fish cake , steak pie finished of with fudge cake n ice cream food was superb as was service...

We visited The Hawthorn Restaurant three times during our stay and were delighted every time. The creative dishes were not only of the highest standard in terms of flavour, but also visually appealing. It was clear that they worked with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We would particularly like to emphasise how friendly, attentive and courteous the staff were; they made every visit an all-round pleasant experience. The stylish yet cosy ambience invites you to linger. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant...

We had the most delicious meal here last week! Never mind some of the bigger named restaurants in the main towns- this is a little gem. Felt very safe watching how they sanitised everything after each group. Cannot fault the cooking, the larger than usual portions of good and hot food came to the table and both chef and maitre d’ made us very welcome and were happy to chat. Our arrival was noisily announced by Angus the bull!! Going home at the end of this week so will definitely be paying...
