We have just returned from a fabulous two (nearly three) weeks holiday in Holly Lodge & Holly Cottage.|The first night of our holiday was spent in the Sutherland Room because we couldn't move into Holly Cottage until the Saturday. The Sutherland Room was very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean with an extremely comfortable bed. On the Saturday we enjoyed one of Fiona's excellent "Scottish Breakfasts".|Holly Cottage was divine, again tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean with all the facilities that one requires. The cottage is light, airy and the night storage heaters are very efficient when required.|Fiona is a superb hostess she is very personable and helpful, an absolute mine of information about what to see and do in the Highlands.|We used the cottage as a base to do what we considered to be the "essential" parts of the North Coast 500 and it proved to be very practical and convenient.|Many thanks Fiona and Andrew and all the staff who made our holiday so comfortable...

I decided to stay at Holly Lodge for a full week and use it as a base to explore different parts of the Highlands each day. Holly Lodge is so very affordable but feels like a premium stay. The property is beautiful and was so nice to come back to at the end of the day. The breakfast is one of the best I've had - home-cooked, whole foods, with an assortment of spreads such as honey harvested on-site and jams/marmalades. It feels very rural but is also within 10 minutes of considerable amenities such as a large Tesco and an assortment of restaurants. I would definitely...
Read moreStopped at Holly Lodge with my wife in September '21. Had the most comfortable four poster bed in a huge bedroom with fantastic views over Strathpeffer. Even a sizeable drop of whiskey in the rooms to welcome you. There is even a traditional romany caravan (see picture) single travellers can book for a unique experience. I can't add anything more than the other reviewers on this page. It is the most fantastic, homely, warm and welcoming place I have had the absolute pleasure of stopping. Strathpeffer is a gem of a place that we 'discovered' and fell in love with. The best part of the stay though is Fiona. Totally agree with everything everybody else has said about her. Fantastic personality and can't do enough to make your stay perfect. Makes her own honey from hives on site, Top Tip: Book your stay through the Holly Lodge website rather than go through a...
