The site is beautiful and in a beautiful location. My one star would be zero stars if possible for the disgusting behaviour of that so-called sales/management team. We were sold a caravan ( we went through the owner) then abruptly taken off us! My partner had been into the office paid the deposit and on his way home got a call saying That they had refused to sell us the van, I rang later and asked for an explanation. They said it was their policy that they could refuse On the grounds that his name wasn’t on the council tax bill!!! BUT they had told him in the office before he left, if I came with my ID, it would be fine, which I was going to do the following day !! Little did we know, they had already taken another deposit from someone who was buying it through the park!!
The office staff also slagged off the owner saying they couldn’t wait to get rid of her as she was a “nutter”!! We met her spent a good hour with her and she is lovely, I have spoken to the owner since and she is disgusted on the behaviour and apparently has been told that she has no say on who buys her caravan.., there is a facebook page HPAG, and these are fighting for better regulations for the owners, as it appears the caravan owners own the caravan, but have a little say in to who or how they can sell if you are thinking of buying, just make sure you’ll read the small print very...
Read moreThis is are second time staying at the Lido leisure park. As normal the caravan was very tidy! Unfortunately the last customers who stayed here weren’t very nice and smashed the tv which didn’t work for us when we tried turning it on and one of the bedroom doors which is taped up. We rung the owners and they kindly came with a new tv so we can use it. Me and my family are very grateful for the great communication as it was a very generous thing to do! Thank you :) The campsite is also very nice with nice views of hills and a park at the top of one, it’s very close to York which is where we will be spending the next few days and Knaresborough is located with many lovely restaurants and has a shopping retail park about a 1 minute drive from the campsite. We stopped at Marks and Spencer’s to get some food for the next few days and boots to get a few essentials. If your looking for a lovely campsite then please come here, it feels like it’s in the country side by the beautiful scenery but also has lots of essential shops, cafes and restaurants nearby which...
Read moreWe stayed here the last week in June 24, we had lovely weather and the site is very clean and tidy, looked after and picturesque. There is a dog field for exercise and the riverside and cafe are a great area to spend some time. Most eating places/pubs are quite a walk there and back especially in the hot weather with a dog so we opted to drive which meant one of us couldn’t have a drink until our return. We decided that we would try the pub on site, there was no cook so no food all the 5 days we stayed, this was a great disappointment. Also the shop was closed all week and opened on the day we left. This was due to a funeral which I can understand and accept and at least they put a notice in the shop window unlike the pub. I’m sure this is a great site when managed better and maybe we just got a bad week. The privately owned caravan was great, clean, tidy, well...
