Arrived today for a two night stay whilst working. So the room had a strange smell of wet dogs but when we raised this with the reception team, they offered to spray the room and said the only dogs they had in were ones to search for bed bugs ...OMG.....then went to have something to eat...well I ordered a pizza with three toppings and got a burnt one....I asked if I could have one that wasn't burnt so they took it away and brought a half burnt pizza..next thing they tell everyone else there's no more pizza on the menu .I gave up...ate some of it and left. Went to pay the bill and the lady says I've checked your room there's no smell but I've sprayed it and left you the spray......so I'm a liar, the room is perfect and nothing wrong with the food..... Breakfast was interesting....went to pay for breakfast and was told very sorry but half of the continental option was not available ...so historic reviews about items not available seem to be a regular occurrence. Sadly again staff are miserable and not happy in their jobs....it's a filthy place though

This is a terrible hotel. Totally understaffed. Checking in, we waited for five minutes while the employee looked at her computer. Check in was "Do you have a car, register it over there. Room number is .... Lift's over their. Hold your card up to the black box". 1 minute and not exactly a great first impression. At breakfast, the staff were talking about our daughter behind our backs assuming she couldn't understand (she happens to be bi-lingual German and English). After I complained, we were badly treated the whole week. Ask to be seated for breakfast and the employees would pretend to need to do something else - even as stupid as counting tables. Walking through the buffet area, your feet stuck to the floor. We had to ask for the room to be made up twice before it happened. We were never given the sittings we asked for at breakfast. The picture here shows the breakfast room at 9.30. We were given 9.00 because 9.30 was "fully booked". Really? Deliberately annoying guests - an absolute no go. Don't go here if you can help it.

The check in was quick and easy, The food was outstanding in comparison to the other premier inns I've been to. The food was quick to the table, but not too quick that would make you question it. The portion sizes were generous but not too much and the service was ten to non. The staff were here, there and everywhere helping guests, and serving food, checking people in and dealing with queries from guests who aren't dining. My hat goes off to them for their hard work. A big thank you to Finley, I've been suffering with an ear infection, and he went out of his way to create some form of cold compress, and regularly checked to see that everything was ok whilst dining. Top man.

Recently stayed at the Premier Inn - Ayr Racecourse on two separate weekends, each for one night. The first visit we booked the meal deal (room, dinner and breakfast). The room was standard and a decent bed for the night. Dinner we had a few problems - we ordered a starter and my partners was forgotten about so had to chase it. Then mains I had ordered a steak medium-well - it arrived well done to the point of not being able to chew it. I sent it back and did not receive an apology at all from either of the servers, until we complained again at the end of the meal and the manager agreed to give us deserts discounted (as it was not part of the meal deal). Breakfast was lukewarm the next morning, not fully stocked and again the staff were frosty and not overly welcoming. The dining room had food up the walls and didn't seem overly clean. Second visit - we went for room only and sorted dinner/breakfast elsewhere. Room smelled damp as soon as you walked in, there was black mould covering the bathroom ceiling and the toilet would not flush. We went to reception and asked if there was anyone available to fix the toilet but they said there was nobody they had to help. So we requested another room. There was only a disabled room available which we agreed was fine, but when entering we realised that the door to the toilet would not shut as it caught on the threshold below. The hotel is dated and needs a lot of work done to it, mould being the biggest issue. Staff have been rude and not the most welcoming on both occasions. It is disappointing as normally you can rely on the Premier Inn for a relaxing nights stay, especially for the prices they are charging for one evening (over £70 each time for one night) We will be staying...

Without a doubt the worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed in. I expect basic from the Premier Inn but even my basic expectation wasn't met. Advice would be to pay a little extra and stay in another hotel. Based on my experience I won't use Premier Inn again because even their complaints handling was shocking. Pink mould in the room kettle, air con stuck on 22.5 degrees (others in the family had no heating). Mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. Advised of minor disruption from 9am, had workmen drilling into the floors from 8am. One of our party complained 8am was ridiculous and was met with a shrug. Cleaning staff not treated well, can hear them complaining about what an awful place it is to work along the corridor. Breakfast was grim. Coffee machine not working, no eggs, no beans and hot plate food all cool and solid, had been there for hours. Machinery in the car park causing noise but i know that can't be controlled. Complained to premier inn and they offered a refund on breakfast but failed to address the issues inside the hotel so I doubt they'll ever improve if that's their attitude. Lesson learned, spend a little more and stay at a good hotel, there are plenty in the area. Work your way through google and tripadvisor reviews, people have been experiencing the same for a long time, wish I'd checked them before booking. Won't be using...

I checked in for 2nights Sat 9th via the website. On arrival I asked about the WiFi and was given a code. When tried the WiFi it wasn’t working. When I went to reception I was informed by a young man behind reception that the WiFi had been down the previous day. I asked when will this be fixed he said he didn’t know. The girl that checked me in was beside him and I asked why she didn’t know the WiFi was down when I previously asked her about it when I checked in. She basically just shrugged her shoulders. So I said I would check out and find another hotel as I need WiFi for work purposes. When I asked for a refund I was told to ring a number. When I called the number I was informed that closed as it was Saturday. So when I asked reception again why they gave me a number that was only Monday to Friday they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t know. So I checked out my room absolutely furious with the service. It should have been stated on the website that the WiFi was down before I paid for my room online. This is an absolute disgrace and I won’t be using this hotel Again especially with the attitude of the staff at reception. I hope I get my refund on Monday when I phone the customer...
