Stayed here as needed a place to stay while on a family trip. Anyone reading this surely knows what a premier inn is, it probably has 100+ rooms, spread over 2 floors.
They have 2 vending machines on site one that has drinks which is located near the entrance. and one that has chocolates, which is located just past the reception area. Near the reception they have a selection of things that some people forget to take /bring with them (tea, shower gel etc ) even though I did not use these a think they where £2 each .
The rooms are what you expect, nice beds a desk TV. Plenty of storage. They provide cups and mugs, kettle in the room and pots of long life milk. They prove extra pillows.
The front of the hotel is located on a busyish road but you can't hear any sounds from the room even with the windows open. The back of the hotel is on a quite road which has the new 20 mph speed limit .
This hotel has the beefeater attached to the hotel so no need to walk out of the building as this can be accessed through the door which is just passed the reception area.
Plenty of parking all around the building probably guessing but about 75+ spaces they do have some electric charging spaces.
This location is within walking distance from a number of shops including a McDonald's for those that need one. And a short 10 minute drive for a big Tesco's store, that has plenty of parking as you would imagine.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly when we visited they even rearranged a room...
Read moreMy partner booked this specific Premier Inn by mistake as we wanted the one in Barry, but after not going on holiday for 15 years for myself and a few years for my partner (who's a Valleys girl) we took the plunge and well it's over of the best we've stayed at! The bus routes only 30 mins or less to Barry and the kids love it here! We were made extremely welcome and my 5 and 2 year olds were given story books and torches which were left on their beds after being made. My only moan is the price of the food at this particular Premier Inn, being Beefeater, it's a little pricey, but the quality is super! What surprised me was how terrible 4G is, and Freeview reception should be spot on being a few miles or less from the main transmitter, unless it's the distribution system, a few channels kept breaking up, and 4G unless going outside the building is patchy, free WiFi is only good for browsing, if you want decent internet you'll have to pay for it, especially if you want to stream films or a blogger like myself upload photos were done while I was either out and about or outside on 4G. Staff are super, very helpful and friendly, and make everyone who stay here very welcome. If you're into walks like myself, then there are plenty around and cycling routes to. Highly recommend this place for anyone that wants somewhere different than Barry Island to stay, and as I mentioned bus stops just outside the hotel, and a convenience store just a short walk down...
Read moreStayed four nights at this hotel. As they make clear on their website, the hotel is close to a busy road. The rooms have a good sound proofing. In my room though, you can't open the windows at all, so the air condition has to be constantly turned on. I personally don't like this. My room has a functional and modern design with definitely not enough storage for clothing. Five hangers and one drawer, that's it. I'm on my own a family room and i cant imagine where a family with kids are going to put there clothes. The staff is friendly and I'm sure they're helpful if you have special wishes. There is no telephone in my room, but everyone has a mobile these days. The thing is, there is absolutely no mobile reception in my room and staff told me it's bad all over the hotel. So to make calls I have to leave the hotel and go outside. You won't of course receive any calls while you are in the room, so be aware of that! They offer a free WiFi which works quite well. As you can't use your mobile data, this is the only chance to be reachable to the outside world. The room is clean, the bathroom also. A big plus are the very, very comfortable beds, which they highlight in there advertisement. They are called hypnobeds (or similar). And they work. You really fall asleep as soon as you turn the lights out. To summarise: (+) Beds, cleanliness, free WiFi, functionality( - ) Windows, mobile...
